There's usually a pilot with a callsign of "Sniper." Sounds pretty cool except for the reason they got the name. During an air-to-ground bombing practice, that pilot will not see the tiny truck or tank that they are supposed to hit and, anxious to release their bomb, will see a massive "X" painted on the ground of the bombing range. Unable to resist the urge, the pilot drops the simulated 500 ob practice bomb on the massive target. This target is intended for simulated nuclear bomb strikes where a "nuclear" bomb hitting anywhere in the target area is close enough. The pilot fails the training evolution and gets the sarcastic callsign, Sniper.
He ain’t lying. I did flight indoctrination in a Phantom at Corpus Christi in 1967. The ride, up or down, was absolutely brutal. Very hard to describe.
@@FoodNPlacesSF No, only on the first movie in 1986 in the F-14 Tomcat, for the second movie Top Gun: Maverick the pilot how flew Tom Cruise in the rear seat of the F-18 Super Hornet was former Blue Angel Cmdr. Frank “Walleye” Weisser, USN (Ret).
@@olusanyaolamide9764 imho - More than a co-pilot Goose was his friend. He's asking the 'spirit' of his friend... to share with him some advice that will help him get through the moment; through the rest of life... without him (?) But, mostly in this scene - Combat Advice . ( Maybe. ) Hope that at least sparks a perspective.... that leads you to the truth of the matter. Stay Smooth : )
@@naijaplayer No! I’m saying he’s an A*shole POS who enables and funds a cult where people are abused and tortured!! That’s like me praising Hitler because he was good painter!!! Do a little research.
The man has just gotten everything he could from his career, lived the fullest actor's life. His future memoir would be a must-read if it wasn't for the scientology component.
My dad flew with BOZO as his co-pilot at Northwest Airlines before he retired. My dad was the Captain and told me the story of how BOZO ended up flying with you.
@@fredwerza3478 another fun fact for you not to believe. My dad also flew with the cousin of the guy who built all the chargers on Dukes of Hazard and was told ever time they jumped a car it was totaled. That’s a lot of metal to waste for a tv show. People are all just that people and we all have stories of stuff we go through. You don’t have to believe them but you don’t have to make a comment either.
That is why I never miss any of his movies, I love Tom Cruise, he is real it is like filming his own life for real!! He indulges in his role with no pretensions!! I love all his movies. Watching it over and over again!!
Military mindset is gold! It’s always a comedy show but it’s also always serious to get the job done. Soldiers gotta live a little bit. Thanks to all branches for your service and sacrifices!
Grew up a military brat. Dad was a cargo pilot and those guys bet on anything and everything. Dad had a Clark to Bangkok run back in the 60’s and he took us several times and the pilots and crew would bet on who could land the softest , I was riding space A and one time I could not tell when we touched down. Then they would bet on the exact time they landed, what number parking spot they were assigned etc. They lived a dangerous lifestyle but were extremely talented and lived life large. It was a wonderful time in my childhood and carry wonderful memories of them.
Like tom cruise ive been a fan a long time he is a great example of how a human being should be therefore a great role model he must have proved a fine example for so many young people good in you tom
Thanks for your continuous love and support towards me ❤️ How long have you been a fan of mine? Its with heartfelt gratitude I wanna say thank you for your kind words. I don't usually do this often as I'm not on social media but your kind words attracted me. Its been an honor entertaining you. Where are you from sweet heart?
I served in the US Air Force for 20 years and never got to fly in a fighter. I hope Tom realizes how incredibly fortunate he is to be a rich and famous celebrity who gets to do things that other people can only dream of.
because his movies don't have enough black and LGBTQ characters. Academy Committee has strict guidelines for diversity. You either go Woke, or go out of the competition.
I mean, he's a massive jackass with the biggest superiority complex in all of Hollywood. Nobody likes working with him. They tolerate him for the money.
Whe I was young Marine, a friend and I met Bozo's mother in mall at bookstore. She started telling us, that her son did all the stunt flying in the F-14 for Top Gun and she told us his call sign while in the Navy, was "Bozo." She actually told us how he got that nickname and few other really co stories about her son. She told us that story 37 years ago.
When Bozo was either going through training as pilot or recently assigned to his squadron. So, during a carrier launch, the catapult launches his F-4. As th plane climbs and he takes to take control of the aircraft after launch, he notices he can't move his left arm, because the arm of his flight suit was caught in the canopy,so he had extricate himself from the canopy and basically had the fly the and one handed, until he got unstuck. Whem he landed, his squadron mates busted his balls about the incident and then gave him the name Bozo. That was his call sign for the rest of his Navy career.
@@Whitey_RN Yes!! Ask Katie Holmes who had to wait until Tom wasn’t looking to leav the cult in the middle of the night to save her child’s life!!! You can’t be this naive??
Best actor ever seems a bit strong. He's good. Examine scenes that made him good though. Like the court scene in "A Few Good Men". Nicholson's character controlled the scene theatrically. He is great at picking roles. That is his true talent.
To go through what those fighter pilots do…beating 90 something percent of applicants, the years of training, then having some civilian go up for the first time having gone through absolutely none of the gnarly stuff those pilots do…yes…you trash them mercilessly. I feel like it’s a rule amongst those aviators at that level. “You better jack him up.” 😂
@@Fourmyle44 there was a kids show in the states and Canada called Bozo the clown god i think it ended in the mid 90s or i grew out of the show then god i havent thought about that show in over 20 years. Its also the inspiration behind krusty the clown on the simpsons
Hey Tom, why don’t you tell them that when you were filming on the USS Theodore Roosevelt, you had the captain make a standing order that tells the sailors, my friends, turn and face the wall whenever you walked through the ship because you didn’t want sailors looking at you.
