I met Venus Raj at one of CCF’s home bible study in Tagum, Davao. She was with a team of volunteers from CCF Pasig visiting Davao. Venus exudes the aura of a changed and renewed soul by God. She is a living testimony of God’s sustaining grace . A stark reminder that genuine peace can only be achieved through a personal and intimate relationship with Christ.

I still remember the moment when Ms. Venus Raj visited in our school, I was graduating that time and she is telling the students that no matter what the circumstances and major negative effect that you've encounter in your life, you must still go on and still keeping your feet on the ground, stand firm and do anything that makes you happy, Walang sakit na daladala Ng nakaraan mo. I met her at our school and had a long conversation with her. It was a Christian program for the youth where I was the emcee. Venus is prettier in person and such a genuine character. Her words are sincere and you just can feel it. She was very open about her "major, major mistakes" which inspired all of us present. The way she has given up her life for Christ is something very inspiring.

As an indian, I watched this interview and I cried. I could totally relate to when she said she didn't have a father to look up to when growing up. It is so terrible that this Indian guy wasn't there in her life because her life would have been infinitely changed for the better had he been. I come away thinking I must never do this to my daughter. I already watched this a year ago and i'm watching it again, because of the words that hits me. Her thoughts and honesty and purity of her soul and on how her faith in God changed her. It made me realize that there's so much i should be thankful for. Just this morning my partner asked me, why so happy? And i said, why not? God gave me another day to live, to love, and to forgive, it's a chances that we never asked him for and yet he gave us.
I think, most of us yun din ang "major-major" mistake sa buhay. Believing that having someone and being in a relationship and putting your purity at stakes. We are all broken and just trying to live.

Even though she didn’t get the Miss Universe crown and i honestly to say that i was disappointed to her answer way back MU2010 but i really really love her and i was inspired by her story. Pinanood ko yung MMK nya sabado ng gabi pero yung nanay ko pinatay yung tv namin kasi mahal daw ang kuryente so pumunta pa ako bahay ng kaklase ko ng biglaan para makanood ng life story nya at sinusubaybayan ko sa UKG every morning. And she is the reason why i was always watching Binibining Pilipinas 2011 and Miss universe up to present. Just like what the other pageant expert here in the Philippines, She put our country back in the game in 2010 in the top 10 to the top 5 after a decade and winning 4th runner up. She could never be erase in the Philippine Pageantry History. I’m happy to know that she is happy in her life now. Love you Venus.

Thank you Toni G for this platform, this brought me back closer to God I was once a mediocre devotee who had given bare minimum faith, trust and time for Him, sometimes withdrawn my faith to Him whenever I'm struggling and being skeptical sometimes, always wondering what's my purpose for I haven't done anything special, that I can call, but when I read the book of Rick Warren " The Purpose Driven Life", which Miss Toni said from some of her vlogs, I fully understand now how I should live life, known my purpose and broaden my commitment to God. I’ve been with ate Venus for months when she was deployed in our community during her Masters in Community Development. Sobrang mabeblessed ka talaga with her humbleness and dedication sa ginagawa niya. She’s also very fun and a person to look up to, but what I love about her is that she always mention that it is not about her but may the name of the Lord be exalted through her. Broken Vessels- Amazing Grace I remember the times when I used to play and sing this ng paulit ulit. Pag naglalakad papuntang church or kahit nasa bahay lang ako. The lyrics says it all. Palagi ring illustration is if God has a flock of 100 sheeps at nawala ang isa...He would leave the 99 just to find the one who got lost. At ramdam na ramdam ko that time na ako yun e. Ako yung nawawalang tupa. God did and gave everything to find me. Kahit pa ang tingin ko sa sarili ko ay hindi karapat dapat. I wandered too long but His love for me is steadfast. I feel so blessed that He found me. And I am never going to be lost again, He holds me in His everlasting arms. ♡
