Microsoft ended support for WIndows Movie Maker on Tuesday, January 10, 2017. Windows Movie Maker was part of Windows Essentials 2012 Suite. All the apps that were included in it, along with Windows Movie Maker, reached end of support on that date.
Windows Movie Maker was originally released along with Windows Millenium Edition (Windows ME).
The successor to Windows Movie Maker is the built-in video editor within Photos App on Windows 10, and later the Clipchamp on Windows 11. Clipchamp was acquired by Microsoft on September 7, 2021.

Windows Movie Maker is iconic, I remember making films and RU-vid videos in it. Of course programs like Vegas Pro, Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro and even iMovie are better, but they’re also way more expensive

nope imovie is free and comes pre installed on every mac

Thank God, I hated when those movie maker. It was a POS. So slow glitched all the time always lagged didn’t have any good effects to it if I were to add gifs it wouldn’t work and the quality of it was really low. when I saw they discontinued it I purchased a movie maker and I have noticed the difference
