I had SMILE in 2019 and have had the same journey as you. Two years on and I am no better, severely disabled with severe dry eyes, recurrent erosions, filimentary kerrititus, corneal neuragia, poor uncorrectable vision. I cannot open my eyes beyond a small crack. I cannot leave the house as I cannot tolerate moving air. I cannot drive, work or look after my 1 year old son as a single dad. It is a daily battle against suicidal thoughts. We have to keep going strong and live our lives however hard. Things will hopefully improve for us. Feel free to contact me if you like.

I had lasik when I was 24 and I’m 26 now. I’m still suffering from bad glare and extreme starbursts at night when I got the surgery done back on November 10th 2017. I have got used to it overtime, since I don’t drive around traffic at night when I get off work. Though overall I’m still seeing 20/15 in both eyes. I highly recommend the surgery for people that have smaller pupils than me. I have the pupils that anyone could have so. if I looked into pupil size before hand I would have not done the surgery. But thank god it’s bearable to drive at night. I wish you the best of luck sorry for your vision problems too.

Did you try post correction? Modern ReLEx Smile can significantly reduce your night issues and theoretically improve your vision to 20/20.

I went with the Bates Method. It cost me $35. It is best to do the Bates Method during the summer when there is lots of day time sunlight. I went from -2.0 to -1.0 from March to September.

Held og lykke med det hele, David. Jeg håber de kan hjælpe dig i Texas. Jeg overvejer det absolut ikke længere. Tak fordi at du belyser skyggesiden! Jeg kom hertil fra Trustpilot. Hilsener fra en sygeplejerske.

And what do they think is expected? Is it normal according to them to have the vision destroyed?! This is crazy. I'm so sorry for you. I hope your vision gets better. This surgery is a joke.

Im -6 , the worse your eyes are the more tissue they destroy. Not worth rolling the dice, Im thankful for the vision I have, or lack there of.

I had -9 with a -3.75 astigmatism. They were only able to correct +6 and +3 astigmatism. So my remaning prescription is a 3 and a 0.75 astigmatism. I can see 20/30-20/40 vision. I see the halos and I do get dry eyes still. (Only 1 month has gone by) 2 weeks ago during my monthly evaluation my eyes had gotten worse significantly. So much so my prescription was now a +6 instead of a +3. But now since then it’s gotten better again. But for me it’s stress. I work full time. It’s no issue what’s so ever for that. I work 50-60+ hours a week though with very little sleep which is most likely why my eyes vision flucates so much. I do not regret this surgery at all. I don’t care if my vision isn’t 20/20 or better. All I care about is no longer needing to rely on wearing glasses my entire life just go do a simple task like grabbing something from a fridge. A +9 prescription with a +3.75 astigmatism is really bad. Doctors were surprised on how good my vision actually turned out bc of how high my prescription was. I can legally drive without glasses now. Now also, I knew about all the side effects. Symptoms etc. they gave me paperwork to sign and read through and it listed out every single symptom and side effect that might happen after surgery. It was specifically for people with partial correct I went with it bc I’ve been wearing glasses for almost 18 years. And new glasses would cost me $600-$800 each time just bc of the prescription. Worth every penny I spent. Place I went to “LasikPlus”

Hey David, I’m sorry to hear about this. I had my surgery 10 years ago and there’s not a single day I’ve regretted it ever since. I live in The Netherlands. Here we have Visser Contactlenzen, they are one of the most important scleral lens fitters worldwide and have helped me with my issues. They also manufacture many of the lenses fitted in the US. It may be worth for you to consider it? Feel free to contact me if you wanna talk about it.

Hej David!
