Popeyes does that, also. My daughter & I went just before closing one evening and we ordered about $20 worth of food and got about $100 worth! They were like “here, just take it , we’re closing now”!

It depends on who’s working, and the location. I had a late order at subway, and they gave me 50+ cookies for free. It won’t always happen, but still worth asking.

True, this is what my dad usually do, he'll go to a grocery shop before closing because most food, cakes or fruits are discount 50% and he's not the only one doing this 😂 but selling it 50% is better than throw it away
I remember the coach for my soccer team when I was a kid owned a Dunkin' Donuts and he always brought the leftover donuts for us to eat after practice.
It usually wouldn't work. In order to get free food, you have to get the food from the dumpster in the back. And don't worry if you think it's unsanitary, the outside of the bag is dirty, but the food inside is clean. However that's trespassing and stealing. I advice not to do. You can get arrested.
Ive worked in several food service positions over my years cooking. No matter where i worked, i dont care if the corporation says we cant do it, i always give out the food we throw away. Its all written off anyway, so why should i care that a multi-billion dollar organization gives away their trash? Im not working to benefit the suits, im working bc i need the money and food should not be a privilege but a right
