Similar to how the ice worm is specifically coded to f with you more if you are on the snow fox. So the thing made for that island actually impedes your progress
@@Riyad_Abiryeah just really poorly laid out. you have to explore like 2 3rds deep in the overground area just to get all the snowfox parts and the brave a hound cave for the fursuit parts. by then you've gotten used to that area and are no longer worried about freezing to death. the worm also kicks you off and over MORE on the snowfox so it's actually useless in the that last 1 3rd area. think that was my only major death learning that the hard way.
so I assume she sits there watching an unknown prawn suit wander around and then goes "gotcha!" the moment you leave it xD I came here for an answer to this exact question btw
They got different writers to work on it, and it shows, the first game was truly awesome, the second game not so much. And ive never heard a decent answer as to how the hell Marguerite survived, she was infected by the Kharaa, a virus that has killed hundreds of billions, and kills anything that gets it within 5 weeks, and yet she survives for a decade before Rileys actions released the enzymes. Lazy lazy writing that gave her massive plot armour, just because the new writers wanted a roughty toughty female in the game. I hope the original writers are back for 3.
@@uhtred7860 More problematic was the fact the new writers were brought on when the game was already well in development, and the half-finished story had to be basically wiped and a new one written, all trying to work around the existing assets and such that had already been made for the game. This sort of changing-horses-midstream style of game dev often results in games that feel inconsistent in tone and direction and feel like they had a lot cut out, because in many cases... they did. I mean just look at Bioshock Infinite. Sure, it's still a good game, but all that meddling and re-writing during development had an impact that can definitely be felt when playing it.
I wish there was an Easter egg when if you did have a prawn suit, instead of you falling over your prawn suit would just go back a bit from the recoil and Margaret would have slightly different dialogue if she saw you that would’ve been so cool
The "my land" comment always bugged me. How exactly is it yours? Just because you landed on this planet like 30 years ago you own the whole thing or is it just the area around your base? How did Alterra build all this shit if you were around guarding it?
90% certain this is what happened to me. I played the game on ps4 and got pretty far without ever encountering this women even though i visited the island and explored the whole thing. I also distinctly remeber getting the prawn suit extremely fast. So this has to be what happened. I later left the game for awhile and restarted on PS5 and once I got to the island I triggered what was supposed to happen and I was confused outta my mind
Wonder what would happen if you left the prawn in the spot she lands. My guess would be she probably doesnt have a hitbox here and would just phase right through it. Could be funny tho.
I wasn't going to say anything, but this has been bothering me for a few days now. I haven't finished the first game, and I assumed Marguerite was dead. This unavoidable video title showed up in my RU-vid feed. I'm starting to remove all things Subnautica from my feed. I'm sorry.
what are the other disappointments? also, why would they make a special cutscene for if you somehow got a prawn suit before delta island or if you decide to not answer the radio and speedrun the game to cure kharaa before the sunbeam?
@@capitanspoiler7393 For the story it could have been much better, map could’ve been larger and more diverse, and the creatures better designed and interesting. But the game was basically DLC to the first game and it’s nice to return back every now and again
@@jesentry5339 yeah i know that it was in that weird spot of "too big to be a DLC and too small to be its own game" but damn they botched it D: i hope we NEVER have a voiced protagonist in a subnautica game D:
