Put some alloy and cast steel bits in the bottles to give a more accurate simulation. Not sure if any copper is exposed to the coolant but if it is, ad copper bits to the bottles as well. 👍

Hi, this is a general advice: if you have doubts about the intermixability of coolants then schedule a flush and replacement of the coolants.

Hello feiend ı have 740i 2016 b58 engine coolant is decreasing .some time i moest be refill. There is no leak outside, what could be causing it?

Sorry to hear that. You have two coolant circuits (engine and intercooler, big expansion tank and small expansion tank). If you mean engine circuit is constantly low, then the coolant can be consumed by the engine if head gasket sealing has failed, and it can also leak through the turbo charger. There will be symptoms of this from your exhaust (strange odour and exhaust gases having smokey appearance). If the coolant is leaking into the oil, this will change oil appearance (will become milkey). Another way to see if head gasket failure is occurring is to check for bubbles in the expansion tank while the engine is running (NOTE: NEVER OPEN EXPANSION TANK CAP WITH ENGINE HOT, to check for this you need to have already opened the cap before starting engine with engine cold). For both circuits you should check radiators for damage, very often coolant loss is due to stone damage of the radiators. For both circuits check the expansion tank caps. If there is any white residue this means the coolant is escaping and evaporating from the cap. This is the most well known issue of the B58, you won't necessarily see any wetness or leak there, you will only see white residue as evidence. Many people replace the caps and this seems to help. Finally take it to a workshop to pressurise the systems/circuits and check for leaks properly by seeing if it holds the pressure over a few hours. Hope this helps.

I have a 2011 bmw328ix..the other day one of my upper radiator hose came off..on the highway draining pretty much all blue coolant..Was luckily enough to be next to an exit amd to a gas station. I have bo choice but to after connecting back the hose..to purchase the oeak green stuff and added to replace what i need( was late at night.) Didn't even did that water pump procedure..Maybe i need to flush it later around. But the car did run alright.i finish my trip to my mom's house. Any suggestion?

Depending on how much coolant you had lost (and what the temperatures are right now, e.g. not freezing), topping up with distilled water to get you home could have also been OK, but mixing coolants (BMW and non-OEM) is not recommended so to be on the safe side I would also schedule a coolant flush in the future. Extract some coolant from the expansion tank in the mean time (e.g. with a syringe) and have a look at it, make sure there's no bizarre chemical reaction going on between the old and Peak coolants, e.g. the coolant is not turning into gel or foam (but this would be quite extreme, most likely your coolant mix is alright for now).

​@@dan1769hey I had something similar happen with my x5. We have the same engine and I used that same green 50/50 peak some months ago and have been just fine. Tried getting g a flush but I took it to the wrong shop as they were just after money. I the meantime I just got some blue coolant for euro cars at autozone

OK, that's interesting. I left them on the veranda and It's 45 degrees Celsius out there, but yeah, it won't be as hot as in the engine coolant circuit.
