You can put it in low while driving 1. Drive up to 65 2. Put your gear in neutral 3.put transfer case first in neutral 4. Keep clutch prest in 5. put transfer case in 4 low 6. Put your gearbox back in gear 7. dump the clutch Good luck cleaning the oil from the road.
It's almost impossible to shift to 4L while driving in anything. Some automatics won't even do it while the engine is running unless you are in park or neutral. Sometimes you even have to move the vehicle a little to get tension out of the drivetrain to go from low to high. That's just the way the gearing is structured.
It won’t go into 4L because the transfer case is unsynchronized they don’t have synchronizer rings like most manual transmissions. Ever tried to put an old granny low 4 spd into 1st whole driving? Same concept.
Hey guys yup I’m an idiot I tried this maneuver on the first day of purchase of Mini Pajero 2006 automatic, but at very low speed…and had the same noise. 10min later I get A/T high temp light and gears aren’t shifting properly. Any recommendations guys…? Bringing it to a garage next day morning but I live in a shit hole in the oceanic and I’m sure you’re more experienced than many in here . Cheers
All you gotta do is click on the video then clip off of it then click back on and it will skip the ad lol .. sometimes it takes a few times doing it but it always works
My dad rolled over his 1996 ranger and was truck less for a little until his sister have him a 1994 ford ranger for free and he fixed it up and it’s now starting to give out on him after 7 years of driving it every single day. These old rangers are awesome trucks to own
I think your next video is can you replace antifreeze with windshield washer fluid. I've heard that this can be done, washer fluid has some similar characteristics to antifreeze, so i think this will work.
Once the "What happens if" videos are done on the Danger Ranger you need to get it over to Town and Country Ford aka TCCustoms and get them involved in a "Pimp My Ride" style resto-mod on the truck. Lift kit, full bodywork in Leadfoot grey and gloss black, wheels, interior but retain the original indestructible Danger Ranger drivechain.
Great video and than you for it . Bro put pennzoil SAE 0W motor oil which is very thin oil in the gas tank and see how fast and how far you can get till the engine seizes up. Take all the gas out of the tank. Then put lube grease in the injectors like gob it it up full and then drive it at top speed and let's see what happens.
Most trucks with 4 low wont allow u to shift into 4 low unless ur in neutral pushing the clutch in wont make any difference try shifting into neutral then put it in 4 low then try to shift back into gear this may work or may not depending on the truck
It won’t let you no matter what go into 4L surprised you got it to go that fast. Had a ‘72and a ‘79 blazer and both would not let me go over over 30mph in 4L
Remember when in 4H or 4L on dry pavement the steering is harder to turn because of the binding of the front axles in 4wd on dry pavement. Luckily you didn’t break your cv axles
I had a '76 Dodge Power 3/4 ton with a 440. It was full time 4wd and will never even think about having another one. But it had 2H, 4h, 4L and 4H it was strange but in 4L it would climb a tree if it had traction.
Hey Mike can you take of the fan blade and replace it with a normal household fan blade? I would like to see if it can work with at high revolutions. Ever used Nitrous in 4 low? Might be interesting to see what happens
My 88 ranger did 55 at redline in 5th gear in 4low. Had to find out, lol. Truck was a tetanus shot on wheels, but she was unstoppable when the going got tuff.
I'm soooo happy that a Swedish "neighbour" is this indifferent to environmental issues. For Heavens sake - why oh why? This is it for me - sorry - really liked your review videos though
You don't have power steering anyway so shut it off while driving with the clutch in and shifter in neutral. With the engine off it'll go into 4L, then turn the key on and drop the clutch
I have a 2004 Ranger 4 x 4 4.0 will not go into 4 Low unless you were in neutral and have the brake pedal pushed in cuz I tried to use for low in the winter and I didn't have the brake pedal pushed in but I was in neutral and stopped and it would not go into four low until I pushed into break and if it's stick shift you have to push the clutch in and stop says rate in the owner's manual
You should install a parachute on the back of the truck and get going to about 50 and pop the chute and see if a drag chute can pull the truck to a stop. If you use that idea, send me a window sticker for my gun case.
I once had a 2005 Ranger that I would have to put in neutral in order for it to shift. But it had an electric knob, and if you turned it when it wasn't in neutral, it would just switch when you shifted to neutral. Maybe that's different, since this one is mechanical, not electrical.
What happens when the F150 truck is already in 4L. I was stopped and in Drive. I twisted the transfer case knob from 4L to 4H and loud pop sound happened. What caused the loud pop? Fyi 4H and 4L still work. I'm just curious what caused that noise from switching from 4L to 4H while stopped and in Drive.
