I remember a glitch in beta. One of my world's just stopped existing. Was upset and started a new world. After a couple days I ran across some very familiar structures from the old world. As if I just took a "vacation"

I remember in an older Minecraft (I believe 1.2.5, that's the one I played the most years ago before I went to 1.7.10) if you named a world the same name as a deleted world you could find the same location and if you had a house, it would be there but really chopped up. At least that happened to me once, it was awesome rediscovering that old build out of the blue.

I had a world with my father. I made it around 6 years ago, and we had many laughs mining for diamonds, and fighting through mobs. One day my friend was messing around on my computer, and found the world. He got to the screen where you delete the world. He saw it, and without hesitation deleted the world. I stayed awake that night just thinking about all of the good times. My dad knew how much that world meant to me, and him. We played Minecraft for hours on that world, and to see it go was the worst day of my life. Thank you, Minecraft.

This was in bedrock edition but its still a glitch that my friend found. Me and him were playing on this world which was an oak biome next to a desert village. But when some terrain updates came there was suddenly 1 or 2 chunks in the desert that had been changed to a jungle and there was a random swamp near our house Also in another village one of the houses had been completely demolished by a mountain that had loaded in because of the update and even my friend said that one of the end cities had dissapeared. Like he built a trail and a tower next to the end city but when he went there after the update the city dissapeared

Fun Fact: In computing, theoretically deleted files actually gain the category "useless" in the system that is when the system needs space it will eventually replace the "useless file" with the new one, in minecraft deleting a world is the same as leaving it to gradually corrupt and "disappear"...

To this day, my favorite minecraft world out of all of them is the very first one I made, with my brother's account using our mom's computer. Eventually, things got to the point where there were so many files and junk taking up space on that computer that it would freeze every few seconds, and because the file size of my world was so big, my brother deleted it, hoping that the computer would run faster (it didn't). I miss that world, the whole vibe and the layout of the map was so soothing and I would come up with stories involving the villagers and other mobs just living their everyday lives and sometimes getting into massive battles. That world will always hold a special place in my heart, and even almost ten years later I can still remember the location of every single thing I've made in that world. Sometimes I play through that map in my mind to relive the childhood memories.

When I first watched this video I didn’t really know about undertale, but now I do, which makes the part about how the memories you made in the world won’t go away even more emotional than when I first watched it.

you literally made me cry on the last minute, you reminded me of my first ever java world, which was called "bamboo guy" even though it was frickin creative and its buildings weren't that beautiful but buildings dont matter.. memories do, I spent a lot of cool times, I learnt most of my now-days minecraft knowledge in that world, I spent a lot of time on that world absolutely doing nothing except feeding my dogs , pandas and cats, and also its terrain was so different.. those beautiful stoney mountains that I built a lot of cool things on it, will I remember the temple I built there? or the "muslinderman mosque" that I built there? or the modern-school that I made and I had fun with it? and what about the lake in the middle of the mountains? the place that I built my first ever building (in java, I played a lot earlier in bedrock) which was basically another temple (yes, I love temples too much) and the so-high-up tower and its bridge? or what about the castle right behind em? or the great hotel? and the mall ? and that villagers prison? or the village that I made between the mountains? what about the pandas farm? or the castle near them? what about the beautiful oceans that how much worlds I made I didnt see like them? but suddenly in a day -that I will never forget- my friend came with me after school and I was going to show him the world.. which I didnt find.. I searched a lot in minecraft or even in the game files.. but I didnt find it.. I almost cried but sense my friend was there I handled.. I asked my brother and sister.. they both didnt mess with it.. it just disappeared like that with no clues.. all the work and fun I had with that world have vanished.. whatsoever.. I still have another version of the world (seed and not backup).. but why would I care anymore? there is no point.. but at least I still have some screenshots that I toke.. well.. I wont even try to restore it anymore.. the world was vanished all the way in 2019.. well.... history doesnt repeat itself.. I guess?

Maybe most people don't remember, but in a snapshot version of 1.14 you could cast all types of protection enchants on an armor. a youtuber made the strongest armor set in the game using that bug.

12:16 to the end hits different as soon as he was talking about that it remined me of my old xbox 360 minecraft world thank you for reminding me :)

I had a very wierd glitch where i created a new world in one of the early mc versions (1.6 i think). Then i opened it in 1.18 (not directly, game didnt allow, but first by opening on 1.8 i think). The overworld looked wierd because the 100ish block area around spawn was almost like surrounded by a wall behind which was a different world(by wall i mean this thing that happens when a mountain gets cut in half) . I think its a different world because a plains biome at spawn suddenly got interrupted and behind the wall was the mountain biome. When i went to the nether i found a nether portal that was not built by me in this world. The terrain looked familiar and i realised that i used to speedrun on this seed, and i was even able to tell where the fortress was. What i think happened was somehow my new world collided with an older one that i even deleted. No idea how that happened. Of course it’s possible that i just opened the wrong world, but i checked and im pretty certain thats not the case and its an actual glitch. When you talked about the colliding stuff on 10:10 i think, i didnt really understand it lol but i decided to write this comment

You can also use the "Copy and backup" feature to save a Hardcore world. Using this method, if you die, you're sent back to when you last backed up the world. Also like... dying in a classic Resident Evil game and being sent back to your last save point.

I couldn't find anyone else providing this fun fact, so I guess here it is in my own words. The reason your computer marks the world location as "empty" instead of actually deleting it (overwriting it with all 0's or something) is because changing all the bits to all 0's decreases the lifespan of whatever storage thing the world is on (it's pretty minuscule, but that does add up). Every time a bit is changed, it basically loses a little "durability," and changing everything to all 0's uses unnecessary durability that could have been avoided, especially if the bit is going to be changed right back to a 1.

It's also important to note, a section of a drive assigned to a file is not restricted to the program that created it. If a file was made by Minecraft and was deleted, anything could overwrite that space, be it Windows itself, or another program. So there is more to worry about than just not creating a new world.

I now want a new video where its not a file management theory, but a stories from a worlds deleted by different methods

I know at one point, when you deleted a world using the menu, the folder for that world remained in your saves folder. it wasn't deleted at all, it just no longer showed up on the world select screen.

When I was young and careless, I used to create a world and build something. I spent hours, if not days, to find a beautiful world, then I spent some time for finding enough resources to start my building projects, then I just deleted the world. I am so angry at my past self now, it could have been so much fun to look at what I’ve built when I was 14 And also props to you for such a funny citing of Vsauce. It was my favorite video back in years

Holy shit, this finally gave me an answer as to what happened to my childhood minecraft world. I thought it was deleted and made a new one, but found my old base with one of the chunks replaced with ocean biome. Weirdest thing to ever happen to me in minecraft.

I had a very weird circumstance a couple of years ago. I deleted a world, gone forever on my old iPad. 2-3 years later, someone I knew got the exact same world, block for block, on a separate device in a separate state. A bit of background info. So, when I was younger I made stupid, random, but memorable worlds. Along with my “fantastic” memory, I have never forgotten any world I have made, opened, or been apart of. I made a Minecraft world, stone-bricks castle, lava pillars randomly, and a very specific pattern of carpet. I made this on my iPad pocket edition 7-8 years ago. However, I did a world purge which this world was apart of. I deleted it, but never forgot it. Fast forward 3-4 years. I went to Louisiana to visit family for the summer as usual and attended a daycare near where they worked. This daycare allowed technology to brought for the kids to play with. The most common game everyone played was of course Minecraft. So we were presenting worlds to each other. Someone I had never met before, seen, or been anywhere near in my entire life showed a specific world. It was a world he had found, he never built anything in this world. It was a stone-bricks castle, with lava pillars around, and the *same* carpet pattern. I don’t know how the hell this is even possible or the chances of it happening. Different state, random world, same day care. I don’t know if it’s just different with pocket edition and how they deal either deleted worlds but wtf.
