I always have doubt over this tongue speaking..as no one umderstands it..unlike in the time the Apostles spoke and all the people understood (Acts 2:1-12)
Good friend...i noticed your comment as i clicked on this podcast. To your comment on speaking in tongues. Firstly jesus said in Mark 16 vs 17 that speaking in tongues would follow a true believer. Secondly on the day of penticost those that received the holy ghost and spoke in tongues acts 2 vs 4 did not understand what they were saying. The hearers however at that time did have comprehension vs 10 that this was the work of god. Peter later in the chapter confirmed this outpouring and sign was a Joel proophecy fulfilled vs 17 and and that in vs 32 - 33 promised holy spirit is received which you now " see and hear". Peter concluded in vs 37 -39 for all to repent, be baptised in water and receive the holy spirit...3000 people had this experiance that day. See acts 10 vs 44- 48 Acts 19 vs 1 - 9 1 cor 14 vs 2 paul the apostle confims speaking in tongues is a communication with god not to men. Vs 4 when speaking this pure god given language you edify strengthen yourself. Vs18 paul himself said he prays in tongues more than all the corinth church but accented for understanding in the congregation you should seek excell in interpretation and prophecy. Vs22 tongues are a sign to the unbeliever or unitiated in this experiance. So Jesus said speaking in tongues would follow a believer mark 16 vs 17 Peter the apostle confirmed speaking in tongues was the evidence which you now see and hear acts 2 vs 33 Peter in acts 10 vs 38 > confimed that the gentiles have received the holy spirit just as he did at penticost.
