in this video i am explaining different scenarios of electric shock. what happens when humans touch phase wire or neutral wire. how a bird get shock when it touched the electric line. will a fish in the pond get shock when electric line fall in the pond.

Ok... Don't listen to this guy. 1. Don't go touching the 230V wire in search of a tingly sensation and especially not barefoot standing on earth... Touch it and you'll get the jolt of your life... 2. 230V AC will pass though your rubber shoes because those rubber shoes now make you a Capacitor and AC Current passes though capacitors... You will still feel something and one wrong move, like touching something that's earthed, a wall or whatever will send you flying around. 3. You have 230V average, but the Peak Voltage in that Sine wave is about 325V... And now that you're a freaking capacitor you go out of phase by 90° so you might "feel" a full 400V for about 0.1ms, 100 times / second

Remember that our body has some capacitance besides resistance and more AC current will flow throu as the frequency increases no matter how well insulated we are

well with boots chappals, etc. you're DC insulated, but not AC. there is always a parasitic capacitance

i remember when i was a kid, i grab one bare side of half opened extension lead socket with exposed metal connection, i remember tingling and piercing pain and that i wasnt able to let off the socket from my hand for couple of seconds. It was domestic 240 Volts, and i think today, am i should not suppose to die that day?, i think theoretically i could die, because only resistance between me and ground was quiet thick woven rug and socks on me :D... What is resistance of 1 inch carpet and slippers? I always thought it was God who did not allowed me to die that day, but now i think maybe it was not really God who saved me, but those classy slippers Santa Claus brought me for christmas. according to calculation 230 volts / more less 600-1000k resistance would give lets say less than 0.2 mA current through my body.

You ll shock severely if you touch a high voltage wire whether your feet are insulated or not,on the ground or hanging,circuit completely or not.The only difference is the severity.So don't ever mess with electric current.
@radokral
@radokral Год назад
whats the point of this video then, if you get shocked in every case, how come birds sit on high voltage lines and are okay?
@snchongloi1580
@snchongloi1580 Год назад
@@radokral we have to consider capacitance of air in case of high voltage. Since bird has relatively small body compare to man it doesn't have much effect. But in case of human, due to larger area of body exposed to air high voltage will build a closed loop using air as a capacitor and eventually get shock. But low voltage around 230v is safe to touch in mid air. But not 11kv, 33kV or higher

If neutral and earth are 0V, if i connect one end of light bulb to hot wire and other to floor, will that make circuit complete and light glow?

No, neutral and ground are kinda the same depending how you use it. Ground rod does nothing but dissipate electricity (not for faults). Now you have the neutral nd ground connected at the panel (MBJ) so if a fault occurs it can use the ground wire as a return path and since it's bonded to everything the resistance difference would make the braker trip in 1 cycle. TLDR ground has very high resistance so it would not turn on the bulb and if it did then that ground would be more like a neutral since ground would trip braker
