Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture. With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Hey Jim I used to work at a diesel garage and that happened daily but the best one I seen is we all went for morning break at 10am and the oldest most experienced tech left the oil nozzle in the fill hole running. Well let’s say it filled entire engine up with oil and then over spilled of course. So don’t feel bad about a little used oil on the cement it’ll clean up.

My parents still have the farm we just raise cattle on it now, we had a Gleaner A combine that we cut wheat with years ago.. every winter we would pull out the combine from the lean- to shed and run it to get the mice and sometime a raccoon out.. This time we heard a different noise and out of the back came ten to twenty old time glass bottles like for medicine and other chemical bottles…. This was the workings of pack rats and the only place that had those bottles was at least 1/4 mile to the north at a old house foundation…. It still amazes me how they carried those slick bottles all that way and up inside our combine…😮 Just had to share!!!

They were almost always done on the customers farm in the 60s and 70s. Little trick I learned in the army for cleaning dirty oil stains off of concrete: Get as much wiped off that you can, then on the stain sprinkle white gas (naptha) which you can get from camping supply stores (its used in white gas Coleman stoves), then light it on fire and let it burn the oil stain out of the concrete. Repeat as necessarry until the stain has faded clean. BE CAREFUL for god's sake! as it is a hazard.
