If you complete the Nerd Brain aspiration you get the Handy trait. With that you can instantly upgrade one item every 24 hours. It completes every upgrade on the item in one action and you don't need to use any upgrade parts.

Don't forget that at Level 10 of the Handiness skill you can finally go to the Forgotton Grotto, the secret world within Oasis Springs! There are two entrances: One behind the Landgraab Mansion down below and one at the park up above. There you can find the Batfish for those looking to complete their collections!

You can upgrade beds as well. They added that in an update a few years ago, but they didn't bother to change the text in the pop-ups of handiness skill. I think you can do that around level 7.

The upgrades make a huge difference to your stuff. Upgraded beds and the seldom sleepy reward trait together are flat broken. My current family's parents both have that trait with a fully upgraded bed and they sleep about four hours every other night. So much time to write books, paint and take care of more kids. They have two children, a toddler and twin infants and still manage to finish two books each, weekly

You can also upgrade beds with 2 upgrades, very helpful for making cheaper beds more comfortable.

I LOVE how colorful you make all of your lots. I try so hard to work with color and somehow I slip back into neutrals mid decor ha I'm trying so hard; taking notes!

You should try the Fabrication skill. Combining that with Handiness and you can furnish a whole damn house.

And I just thought handiness was useful for not calling the repair technician all the time! I love these skill videos you do because it encourages me to actually use parts of the game I wouldn’t usually

Just a heads up, adding a compost to the toilet will sometimes cause it to catch on fire if you don't use the compost 😂 MCCC has a cheat that will enable instant upgrades that use no parts too, so I always cheat max handiness and upgrade everything

How about some pet skills for the next video? There's Pet training and Veterinarian skills if I'm not mistaken.

You also need the antenna from the scientist career for the reception update to work. I think it unlocks a channel from Sixam

Beds are by far the most useful upgrade you can do - their comfort level and stress relief go WAY up when you upgrade them.

Noooo, you forgot the bed! Poor forgotten bed ☹️ LOL Bit dumb they didn’t add that to the pop ups. Typical Sims 4. I think you can upgrade hot tubes as well. And washing machine / dryer. Love your videos! Hope you settle back in the UK ok.

If you haven’t done rocket science that could be one you do next

For bug farms: Craft a wooden toilet (or buy a cheap one) and upgrade to composting then place it outside next to your farm. Shorter trip back and forth if you have multiple farms and then you don't have to worry about forgetting about it and have your bathroom on fire. Fire Toilets: You can "upgrade" other sim's toilets. Learned this from the Eco job task. Needed to upgrade more toilets than I had so did all the neighbor's toilets. Took me a while to figure out why their bathrooms were always catching on fire. Do with that what you will. NOTE: It will only fill up with compost while you are there.

If you go to Granite Falls and have a high handiness skill, you can study the plans for the mascot statue and then you can make it on the woodowrking bench. It's actually quite cute.

I always build up the handiness skill but then I dont utilise it, I keep forgetting you can upgrade the toilet, the sink, and the PC so I'm loving that I've learned a lot from this video, in my current save I'm going to have them go on an upgrading spree lol! 😅 I need to create more wooden furniture too lol, I remember the sister wives vid too! 😄 Lol toilet fires are a thing in Lilsimsie's vids, I keep meaning to upgrade an appliance with my Sim that does have an insect farm to see what it does, as the insects are a butt to keep happy lol! But it seems you'll be answering that question for me...yay! 🥳 Ahh you forgot about the bed lol! In Oasis Springs there's a mine you can enter once you max out the handiness skill. I've never maxed out my skills but it would be interesting to see that mine

You can also upgrade the bed for for less sleep time witch is quite usefull in the gameplay.

Did you know that you can also upgrade the bed too I think at level 9, there’s 2 options and they give sims mood buffs

If you know instruments you can craft them. I have a store selling violins and guitars for example.

She is so busy upgrading I haven't seen her eat anything, lol. Everything will be upgraded, but she will die of starvation😅

I do like the handiness skill, but when I upgrade like a fridge or sink to not break as often, it doesn’t seem to help it? It still breaks just as much

Yeah I had 2 Sims get the mental Fog/Burnout/Mental Block....I immediately started looking for the option to turn it off. It's not conducive IN ANY WAY to my game playing and is a total buzzkill I never wanted. Then to take the option away to turn it off? Really? Yeah, so I had to get a mod just to get back to regular gameplay. I TRIED to follow all the internet instructions, paint if you've a mental block, chess if you've a creative block, etc....NOTHING worked, prevented or sorted the Fog/Block out. Nothing but taking MULTIPLE days off of work which my family could not afford to do. I dominantly play my medieval off-grid Legacy game and my patriarch currently makes $4 a day as a Blacksmith. When he has to take 2 days off of work (when he's only got 3 available) JUST to clear out the mental block, it REALLY hurts the pocketbook. Matriarch is constantly weaving, gardening and cooking to sell things to make money but she's heading into an early grave (maybe it's more medieval than I thought it was). I don't WANT to take 2 days off of work where he can essentially do NOTHING around the house because it's all mental stuff he does, upgrading, repairing, cleaning animal pens, teaching the toddler, etc. It all drives him further into brain block. I get 'realism' in game, but I also get that it's a game and the 'realism' should be alterable to your personal taste, like they give us with being able to turn off the Whims (now Fears/Wants), or any other pack specialties. Not everyone gets brain block irl!! Not everyone needs half the work week off to 'rest' their weak constitutions, people have been going to FULL work weeks for millennia without having 'mental blocks'. My Sim does NOT need a Safe Space!!!!! Is ANYONE loving it?!
