Michael I didn’t know how to jailbreak consoles so it was extremely boring, and I only played demos. PlayStation was more my style. I grew up mostly with Xbox but then I had to switch, plus my 360 got sold to some kid because my principal was a bitch and falsely accused me of doing something
Well, I still played mine, like 3 hours ago or something. DS have A LOT of great games and I just can't stop playing it. Edit: You can play GBC/GB games using GBA flashcard so you can still technically play those games.
@@rickysarmientofernandez9136 Ds Lite support GBA games natively, so theres really no need to emulate it though. Just get a GBA flashcart for 100 dollars and you can play all the GBA titles like they were meant to be played! :)
@@andi6189 I got one of those two hundred-something game carts from ebay, they're like 20-30 bucks, and the one I have has great games like all the ds pokemon games, animal crossing wild world, and others that I like, so if you're looking for lots of games fast, and you don't want to spend a ton of money getting originals, that's what I would suggest. also fossil fighters: champions
I reccomend Animal Crossing Wild world, MarioKart Ds, Super mario bros. And if you have game boy advance games, Mario and Luigi Superstar saga. Hope this helps.
I absolutely LOVE the Nintendo DS Lite! I actually mod them for fun! I enjoy taking them apart and putting on cool custom housing shells and buttons! I do the same thing with my Gameboy Advance SP’s also. Grew up playing Nintendo since the original console came out! I am a gamer girl nerd and proud of it! 👾💕😜👍🏻
Samee i modded tf outta my childhood dsl i put housing, gbaccelerator, ezflash omega, r4 and different buttons im about to convert the charger to micro usb!
The overall lack of knowledge on the topic is why I’m not really liking these videos from this guy. Just that initial comment early on of not knowing the differences between the ds lite and dsi besides the camera threw me off. Like, reeeaaalllly? Dudes gonna make all these videos on this topic while knowing almost nothing about it, whatever.
The reason the dsi power button is on the inside is so you have to open the screen first before powering on, i think the ds light was a learning experience for Nintendo regarding the power button so they fixed that problem when they released the dsi and dsi xl, though i do agree that you should be aware of how the ds lite turns on when making a review video, otherwise good video.
I still have my DS Lite. And I play it regularly. I am currently trying a challenge in Pokemon Platinum. I also have my old GBA, Game Cube, Wii , WiiU and PS2. All of which get fairly regular use. I like holding onto my old friends. I miss them when I can't play with them. ^^
I would get a DS to play old games, but I have an emulator, and I just find all the games slow. Especially Pokemon, I just can't play them without a speed up. It's too painful. If I could speed up the games, I totally would.
I had the black ds lite in middle school I wanted a psp so bad I would have rather had that than the ds thankfully I got one my freshman year of high school it was the silver one all my buddies had black ones so I was always getting trade offers haha
My Nintendo DS Light is 12 years old and I still play games on it. The battery life is still amazing, everything runs smoothly. The only thing that sucks is that I‘m tired of playing the same games over and over again.
I love my DS Lite!!! The games are amazing and there is stuff for everyone. The ol' DS saved my summers when I was stuck in a cabin with my family without WIFI... that was around 2016-2017 now my 3DS saves me from quarantine with family.
I still have my old DS lite from when I was young. And I have all those games in that small case that came with the console you got, including 35+ more. Still works like a charm and the games were awesome! I do have a DSi somewhere as well, not entirely sure where it's gone but I'm hoping it's somewhere around the house. I have two 3DS's (one old and one NEW) and one NEW (the folding one) 2DS, To this day, Nintendo has grown so much, I can't wait to get my Animal Crossing Limited Edition Switch next week (which is when it releases in my country).
Well, I happen to own a DSi, a 3DS, a New 3DS XL, and a DS Lite. The latter was a recent acquisition, having found it in a Tender Centre one day. It only cost $14.40, came with no recharge cable, nor stylus or GBA slot cover and its bottom screen and digitiser were problematic at best. Thankfully, I thought ahead. I 3D printed a new stylus and GBA slot cover, utilised a cable I previously owned to charge it, and replaced the bottom screen and digitiser with new parts I got from eBay. It now works great, and will get a lot of good use out of it.
Mine too. Although Since the screen broke in the way that every single DS lite screen breaks and I decided to send it in for repairs many years later, it's no longer truly original. Although my childhood GBA SP is still in perfect working condition even after 18 years (I got it in Christmas 2005).
Um, the DS Lite is my favorite hand held gaming system and to this day I am STILL getting games for it. So, "what happens when you play Nintendo DS Lite in 2020"? It is the power of being completely AWESOME.
@@domyac9392 I have no desire for a switch(partially because I have no funds to obtain one or the games to support it). Still, I could care less about the switch(IF it could have coexisted with the 3DS family, maybe I would have been slightly interested in it). Super Smash Bros. on the 3DS is good stuff, nice with the Galaxy NEW 3DS XL. The PS4 is amazing game system. My niece and nephew have one. The "Spider-Man" game on that system is so amazing, the graphics are mind-blowing.
I remember at night my siblings and I would all open up pictochat after playing a few rounds of Mario Kart, and we’d end up scribbling everywhere, sending that off, then copying that and making a tiny change, and the game was for everyone else to spot the difference
I have like 8 or 12 Nintendo DS consoles. Some Nintendo DS lite, GBA advance, and Nintendo DSi. I also have about 64+ games and I've been collecting them since I was 6 and I'm turning 20 this year so yea I'm hella old but I'm never giving anyone my games or consoles. It's part of my childhood and I'm not letting my future kids play them either. Everyone told me to sell them all to get a lot of money and I'm like no doing that would be like selling away my childhood, teenage, and young adult years. By the way I love your channel.
same for me, I have DS Lite and some old console, it still good to play, and i think if you really need money, you can sell it for some, but i think not just me but many gamer who have old console, when you decide to sell this, you have money, but sometime nostaliga came back and then you cannot ignore this, you buy that old console again, to return your childhood again, so why you sell it in the first place, maybe keep it in the first place is the best choice :)
I bought mine second hand on eBay about a year ago. It's a Lite that's mostly black with a blue top. I have New Super Mario Bros, Mario Kart DS, Nintendogs, Super Mario 64 DS, and Brain Age. My DS is awesome and I love to play it when in the mood.
Whatever you do keep your DS it's a treausure of your childhood am 17 and found my ds and started crying of me at the start of being a gamer felt so glad I can play this game once again
“What happens when you play a DS lite in 2020?” Um, you simply enjoy playing DS games in the year 2020? Like you would in any other year from 2006 onward?
@@Player-p4k if their join date was 11 years ago that doesn't mean their bots smh. Plus, alot of people joined RU-vid over 10 years and still comment but it doesn't mean there bots
I can’t remember if the DS lite or the Wii was the first console I ever owned or played but I have a lot of good memories with the DS regardless... I miss preschool 😂
Exactly the same with me. The ds lite and wii with my older siblings and cousins. First one I played on though was my older brothers gba that was the first I remember. Im only 16
I had DS when came out DS lite .DS I and now have 3ds and 2 ds I still got some of the games of DS and some of the games I sold at games stop and some of the games I give it to my cousin's daughter and my youngest cousin .
Noura Nayyeri theres this teacher that was in her 50s and had kids they used to own 2 of them and one day they would have obviously not wanted them anymore so they let my teacher take them to put in our classroom. I believe they are still there to this day in working order
I still play my DS. That system had a ton of great games. But just one flaw with this system and you nailed it right off the bat. The right Button was always breaking. After having to buy nearly a dozen new DS's I finally had to jury rig the right button on one to hold it down permanently just so I could play one particular game. I only play that game on it. Rune Factory tended to be a button breaker, Lol. Even later versions of DS, DSi and even 3DS still had button issues. My 3DS has finally given up the ghost on both L and R buttons. I still love these systems but breaking buttons has been a big issue for me. It's sad that they couldn't fix that issue. Especially now when and if you find a new system online, it can cost hundreds of dollars for a new system.
I like the pickochat because I was able to talk to my daughter when she was sick in bed or when she was at her friends house. So yes I love it and I still have mine and it still works.
I have a DS Lite and I still play games like Super Mario 64 and Mario Kart Ds. It is still a good handheld but I am saving up for a 3ds Xl. *2010-2020*
Recently got back into playing my DS Lite. It’s still in mint condition and the screen looks so effin gorgeous which I did not remember to be like that back in the day
With a DS Lite you can play tons of ROMs too without modding .Like Apple II ,ZX Spectrum ,Atari ,ColecoVision ,Genesis ,Game Gear ,Gameboy ,Gameboy Color ,GBA ,NeoGeo ,NES ,SNES , Turbografx16 and NDS ! I use a SuperCard ,R4 ,and Ace3ds carts for all my ROMs .The DS Lite is an awesome value right now .
What does "DS" stand for? To our developers, it stands for "Developers' System," since we believe it gives game creators brand new tools which will lead to more innovative games for the world's players. It can also stand for "Dual Screen."
3 DS Lites, 2 DSIs, 1 3DS, 1 New Nintendo 3DS XL (galaxy addition), a Wii and my Switch, ( really badly want a Switch Lite and a 2DS XL, to complete my collection)
