I just realized when your saving Sans and Papyrus, the first thing sans said was “just give up. i did” and that’s a reference to something he said in his battle in genocide, “i gave up trying to go back a long time ago”
Alice Emily: frisk? Frisk: ...you remember the last time you were here...you worry Frisk:it seems like your little sister wants a hug... You give her one... She smiles... You seem ok...then you start crying
Pretty sure there isn't any, actually. Chara has no particular meaning in-game, it's just how her sprite is named in the file iirc. I don't really get why this video exists, tbh.
@@anniebotv268 Uuuuh, no? That scene happens no matter what your name is, Chara or not. Besides, Frisk is the one hugging Asriel in that scene. Chara (or whatever you name them at the start of the game) dies long before the events of the game. That reveal was the entire point of the scene, and you're calling me blind? Do you suck at being sarcastic, or are you actually dumb?
when you name your character at the beginning of the game, it is actually making you name the first human, otherwise known as chara, when we are actually playing as frisk the whole time
And the reason hard mode is only the ruins is because it would be pretty confusing, like imagine Asriel saying "frisk has been gone for a long time. Your name is frisk?"
its preety much the storyline that the game wants you to do first pacafist with your name being chara because flowey/asriel thinks frisk is chara and it makes more scence at the end then when it tells the true players name
Oh wow, after years of playing this, I just realized Chara stands for Character... and Toriel is for Tutorial. I wonder if the other names stands for something like Sans is for Comic Sans, Papyrus is for Papyrus font and WD Gaster stands for the Wingdings font (From YT).
Dreemurr is an anagram for Murderer, and Asriel Dreemurr for Serial Murderer. Also, Asriel is Asgore + Toriel, and I'm sure it's said that Asgore is bad naming things.
Cant believe you did the whole Pacifist rout just for an experiment, honestly the hardest ending to get because you have to fight both Omega Flowey and Asriel Dreemurr.
Omega flowey is easy and for asgore you just die, tell asgore about it, eat pie, and he's pathetic plus you can't die on asriel so it's the easiest run in my opinion.
11:59 I just had a thought, This could also mean Chara. It doesn't specify that it means Asriel. It's probably not Chara, but we don't know. ..thoughts?
this game is so brilliantly designed and each character is well thought out. even though everything asriel has done should make me hate him, but i can't help but feel sorry for him :,[
My favorite thing about the ending and how it says 'but it refused' I like to think that you basically just say: "no, fuck you" to death and just smush your soul back together.
Asriel: You’re not actually Chara, are you? “Wait what? No that is-“ Asriel: Frisk, right? Frisk: “What? You can’t just do that! How did you change it, wha- HOW-” Asriel: Nice to meet you! Frisk: *visible confusion*
Just imagine how having the name frisk would work “your not actually Frisk are you? Frisks been gone for a long time. What... what IS your name? ‘Frisk’? That’s a nice name.”
The fact that there's actually special dialogue and differences for naming yourself this honestly amazes me. That's yet another thing to add to the list of things to show how dedicated Toby Fox was to his game Although I gotta say, it is a little tiny bit disappointing that there's not a special ending, where you happen to be Chara after all. Would be kinda neat to see how he'd pull that off
haha, was wondering if anyone would comment that. There's really nothing special about the name "Chara", to the game. It's just the name they used for testing, which is why it showed up in some trailer screens.
There is no difference between being named Chara or not. You just watched a full battle with Asriel, but you liked this piece of memory, and loved the video anyway. I did.
When you name frisk to chara, it's feels like frisk is actually chara that want to be a better person, but at the end she just decided to be a whole new person
Chara was never a bad person, you the person influence Chara. So if you kill, Chara becomes evil. If you spare and are nice, then Chara is nice. Its why we get gold when we spare, even if its a few. We directly influence Chara, the only cases of Chara being "evil" is like poisoning asriel. Even then, that was an accident because they were young and confused "butter" with "butter cups". I mean, Chara legit killed themselves for Arsriel to destroy the barrier, but because they were dying, it came out as "i want to see the buttercups" and not "im dying because of the buttercups"
What a strange battle. Both sides yearning for their friends. Despite Azzy being the ultimate God of hyperdeath, you fight as equals here. You refuse death and stand firm, and while you take a calmer approach to it, you cry out to your friends to return to you. Almost like.. "Chara! I'm so alone. Chara, I'm so scared." Asriel has unlimited power, in terms of strength, You have unlimited power, in terms of willpower. You can just downright REFUSE death. And both you and Asriel just want your friends back, as you cry to them amidst your heartache, reaching out to each others souls to revisit those who are there. The souls of the entire underground beat in unison against your endless willpower, and as you guide them all back from their lifeless wandering, you remember the final person who needs to be saved. You save HIM. Why.. is it a win win? Do we find our peace finally? The barrier is broken. The prince had returned, and who knows? He sees Chara in you. He has seen his best friend, all he's wanted for so long. He is at peace, and you've come full circle. You can return home, to the surface. Unfortunately, even equal battles end with a winner and a loser, as Asriel makes his final wishes known to you and walks off, likely to his death, as he resumes the soulless flower he once was. You, average human, have defeated the Ultimate God of hyperdeath in an equal battle. And, if Chara really is in there, you've brought them peace, too.
I did a pacifist "Chara" run. I was just asked "wait, Chara isn't your name. Isnt it?" And then Arsriel (kid one) goes "its frisk?" And you get some more exposition about Chara and the dreemurs. It even hints that you are naming the first fallen child with the "the true name" when you type in Chara
Sans' dialogue for the lost souls is really interesting (is this the place to dump a theory? oh well) As it seems like the lost souls don't remember you at the moment, they can only reflect on feelings or their own experiences. And Sans' dialogue is the only one to tremble, similarly to Napstablook's text. "just give up. i did." is a reference to 'i gave up trying to go back a long time ago' in his genocide battle, when he's talking about timelines and the anomaly- and _our_ reports. When he says "you'll never see 'em again" (the trembling text) I can only assume this means he's talking about Gaster and _also remembers_ Gaster and- yeah- that's all.
@@muhammadsoleh4725 Yeah, I don’t think there is sa difference :/ I even went through the fight on my own spare time on my switch... and I don’t see any difference...
