Exactly… and all the while there are people who work in very dangerous occupations where the possibility of death, and / or having to save someone else’s life is part of the job description. And we do these jobs for basically nothing, other than for that feeling of accomplishment for having the guts to do a job that most people just aren’t cut out for. And that’s fine. At the same time, those of us who work in occupations as such don’t ask for anything, nor do we entertain the idea of receiving some level of fame and recognition just for doing our job, neither. And then I see this hawker chic and how society is so immature when it comes to sexualizing every little thing… that’s the problem today.
