Roman, Greeks, Egypt had slaves… But until the Portuguese arrive was not possible to cross the continents with goods (salves included). So this ideia who started to have slaves is quite distant from the perspective. The Portuguese were the first to move slaves between continents by sea.

You Portuguese need to stop with your lies. They were the first Europeans to enslave and traffic Africans across the world, and they took the most slaves. They started kidnapping Africans in 1445. So,accept your brutal history. They didn't abolish slavery until 1888.

Portuguese were the first ones in Europe , who stop slavery (abolishing slavery by Marquis Sá da Bandeira -XVIII and XIX th Century). Before , in XV th Century , Portugal was also the first ones , in Europe, who started with Slavery Traffic...
