Like with the George series (it's very hard to see but- he puts what episode it is in the corner of each video before I press on the video to watch it....I don't know how to explain it, but he could add it onto the title too so it's easier Like you can see under, "Reality Dog Training " on the picture of the video that it's episode 1

I've never read a book so fast! ru-vid.comUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU Learning about his dogs and experiences was just the icing on the cake - bed this book through and through. We're working with our new pup and Brandon's advise was just what I needed. Wish he'd just come and train for me haha but it's good for us and happy to have this new set of tools to use on our pup.

THIS IS the dog I just adopted from the shelter. No human interaction previously, apparently. But fearful at first. Now a 60 lb baby 11 month old. She’s learning. Impulse control is the hardest. And I’m 71 so I’m no spring chicken. But I’m committed, so here we go.

It would be great to see a series with a dog that has severe anxieties and fears most thinks. There are lot of dogs like that in shelters that need a home. I adopted a dog that was scared of pretty much everything and everyone. I had to be creative and find different methods to work with her. When she's scared she doesn't take treats. It was hard but so rewarding to see here change for the best.
@napyhed4754

I agree. My girl was returned twice to the shelter for behavioral issues. The simple truth is she is scared. Nobody showed her how to live in our world. She has gained 20 pounds and we developed a bond since I adopted her. She is a handful and these reality videos give me hope. Maybe someday we can walk in a normal place with people and dogs...

Fascinating to see a dog learning sit from a zero start. It’s rare, as owners, we see that, given most breeders, shelters and fosters will have at least taught sit (if nothing else). But spending time with very nervous former street dogs, like many of my clients, these are the starting points for them. It’s all about building a bond. Helping them to learn we are predictable, not scary.

The intro to this series is awesome, but I have to literally cover up the screen when he jumps off the balcony. The first time I saw that happen in the preview video, I cried for 10 minutes. You guys must have done the same, I’m sure. Loving this series! I started watching George because I’m going to try and train my sister-in-law’s pittie in a few months. He’s about a year old and doesn’t listen or do anything except “sit.” All of this is so helpful to see, especially seeing it in the very tiny increments of the most basic commands.

Despite our best attempts at tons of positive socialization experiences, starting from week 9 of age, my now 1 year old dog is still super insecure around other dogs and is even too nervous to go on walks in our new neighborhood (lived here for 6 months now!), likely because it's full of dogs...

Hello Zak! I am a video editor and I got to say that as far in training and your comments, I’ve liked this video more, so far. Because your comments are in OV and in another whole camera setting. It seems it doesn’t distract you as much from training and it’s easier for one to concentrate on your methods. Thank you for your videos, I’ve learned a lot. Sadly, my Airedale pup (got her a week ago) is not doing as well as I’ve thought, even though I have been studying all your videos and trying to put them into practice with her. It’s been really overwhelming for us, since we have 3 small children (3 under 4 yo), and she bites and nips at them. She also does this to my husband and I as play, but we want to address it the best way. I’d be interested in maybe in the future watching a series of a very high energy puppy training (although right now I know you are doing this series, and know how much of time and dedication it takes). By the time you finish this one, I’d be really curious on your approach with that type of pup. We are going to bring a Barkbusters trainer to the house in 2 weeks, hopefully she helps us teach our dog to behave properly. :)

Don't get a dog for the size and/or looks, you might regret it later by being unable to handle his strength or character. Guys I know wanted tough looking breeds (a 4 month old Pitbull and an 1y old, old breed GSD) and are struggling to handle them, regretting the choice. What I did is settle on a German Pinscher or smaller look-a-like mixed breeds instead of a Rottweiler or Dobermann since my weight is as much as a large Rotty. I love my medium sized black and tan dogs!

Pardon me for appearing ignorant, and if my comment seems out of place, any critiques are welcome. You know Chop is a wild dog, surely introducing him to so many stimuli at once is a traumatic experience? That is to say, from the brief footage shown at the end, with bikes and dogs - are you not setting him up to fail? could yo have introduced him to bikes at home? played loud, town-associated noises for him over the tv, and thus desensitised him?

This is an amazing series. I'm now noticing just how much editing is done with other tutorials on training. This addresses so many questions I have about understanding and pivoting to training that is the most effective~and the importance of first earning a new dog's trust. There are many "recipes" in training dogs~but it is so important to understand the body language of the dog because that helps you gauge if the dog is being receptive to the "training". Meaning to say, you can do all the steps to get the job done, but what is missing is understanding emotionally what is going on here~which you so eloquently address in this series~thank you Zak George!

Do you have a video training a dog who reacts towards man. My dog seems to only bark at men, other dogs too but my biggest problem is men he launches at them and treats don’t seem to work.

Chops is a very challenging dog to train, because of all of the wildlife dangerous wildlife that is so his sences are on raider 24/7 because of protective mood and survival mood in him. Let's not forget pray mood.

And here I was thinking that my dog was the only one that backs up when you try to use the treat over the head method. Glad to see an alternative solution

Hellooooo! I have a question. My dog when he plays with other dogs tends to bark at them. Not in an aggressive way. I think he wants to make them run in order to chase them (he prefers to chase dogs rather than being chased). Also he is a mix breed probably border collie and English setter. Maybe its instinctual? Like herding? He hae never had a fight with another dog even when other dogs have attacked him. He is 9 years old and not socialised very well. Thank you in advance!
