In this video I take a step back and remove a lot of what I have done. I also get two packages in from Scenic Express and Arizona Rock and Mineral.

Great update! I chuckled at "last layout that is perfect". No such unicorn! At a minimum will be doing some major renovations as you are doing now. Nature of the hobby, I have finally accepted that. Will want to change some scenery, track placement, etc. as work on details for years hehe.

@@georgiasunbelt yeah it's definitely bittersweet when you have to rip brand new track work up but it had to be done. Thanks so much for watching.

Touch them up with light white paint and make those bubbles after you cut them light white paint and make them look like jet wash or jet exhaust like you see in the sky long white lines in the sky that might be a great way 2 disguise those bubbles you cut to lay back down let me know what you think please?

I laid 4 different track plans before I came up with the one I thought worked best. I laid the track and ran engines for several weeks on each rendition before I did anything else. After building my bench work, I laid all the track without a road bed or any scenery first. I ran like this for weeks. Once I found the plan I wanted, I then laid road bed, ballast, scenery, or structures and then scenery. This will give you a chance to see how the plan will work and iron out any wrinkles of irregularities without tearing out a big mess each time. This will ensure smooth running, and you can use the track as a guide to lay the road bed before taking it up. For elevated sections, I used temporary support to hold bridges and the like in place before installing the permanent supports.

@@DRCRailroard very good ideas. I drew about six different plans before I was happy with this one but after I got it down on foam I just did not like anything about it. Live and learn I guess. Thanks so much for your comments and very much appreciated you watching.

@montananorthern I did the exact same thing. I thought I had drawn a masterpiece. It really did look good on paper. I have an 0-gauge layout. The problem that I ran into was real-estate. My original plan was really cool it just required double the space to really make it work well. It wasn't a bad plan. One of the problems I encountered was with my switcher steam engines in the ladder yard. 0-scale steam switchers have very little tolerances for track irregularities and deviations of the front pilot and shorting on the center rail. That's way I not only recommend running trains but every engine you have to run before making anything else permanent.
