Thanks for this interview. I had no idea about Mike's solo album, Smallcreeps Day. I went and listened to it here on YT. I proceeded to buy a copy on ebay. Thank you so much. I'm 62 and still finding music to listen to and own.

Hey John. My absolute music hero. What a great interview. You seemed to have so much pride in the interview and that was as exciting as listening to Steve who is just so articulate. He didn’t really answer the ‘What do you think of their stuff’ question but that’s fine. So much of it wasn’t that good. He is amazing and a credit to his genre. Great interview once again my friend! I attended on 2018 a venue with Mr Hackett, a mix of solo career, GTR, and on the second half classic GENESIS "Shadow of the hierophant" was brillant and memorable .. the genesis part was remarkable I always feel lucky to testitify this kind of musicianship on my grown up years... You wrong: No Tony Banks, no Genesis. The base of all songs was allways composed by Tony Banks and Michael Rudeforth, even on Peter Gabriel´s era, don´t tell me you believe that Peter Gabriel was the leader of Genesis.

I remember seeing you at Bergan Community College, in New Jersey. It was one of the 3 most intimate and awesome shows I've seen. Another was the post Robby, The Band, in a club that could hold 50 people not long after the brake up. The other was Ron Carter at the legendary, Three Sisters, Jazz club. also about 50 people in the audience. All 3 heavenly. Thank you Steve, keep up the great work~!

Small creeps day is fabulous it's one of Mike's best some of it with the Mechanics would be great, Steve Hackett is a great & approachable artist it's been an honour to meet him twice ,he is spiritual/shamanic so am I, and genesis are/ were my favourite musical influences heroes&peers, here's a strange thing Nursery cryme has a portrait of my ex girlfriend meant to be Cynthia painted when we were children ,and she is a troubled enigma!

The Genesis album "..And Then There Were Tree" was released in March, 1978 and the Mike Rutherford's solo album "Smallcreep's Day" was released in January, 1980. Steve don't unsered the core question.

Yes, Acting Very Strange was a massive disappointment after Smallcreep's Day. I think the reason Mike doesn't play it up is that he uses a lot of the influence on this album on Duke. Played together they seem very similar.
