we toss it under the trailer and RV for our chickens to wallow in. they love wood ash. it helps keep mites etc... away. they like getting deep into it and really coating themselves with it then laying spread out in the sun all afternoon... its funny when you startle them afterwards because they squawk and run away in a cloud of dust lol...
Man... I hauled wood and cleaned out wood stove for years. I was so glad when my parents put in Central heat and air lol. Nothing beats a wood stove on a cold winter day, especially if you been playing out in the snow.
Never thought of that! Good tip. I always hear garden, garden, garden. Never knew power companies that burn use it like that. And they make some tough roads.
I only burn in the winter lol, It stays set up for a long time but the more you drive on it the more it will well wear down ya know, ive had the one hole filled in for like 2 months and it has stayed the same.
Homesteading With Dutch Thanks for the speedy reply to my question Dutch. I forgot to wish you, your 'Dutch-ess' and the little Dutches a very, very Happy New Year, with continued success on both your homestead and your channel. Best Wishes Sharon in Nottingham.
That is my question also. I want to fill the cracks in my driveway. Should I mix it with a little water to make a paste? Thank you so much for sharing from the Chicagoland area!😍😁
great tips... we use to also burn our garden off and then dad would take ashes to put around his trees and on the garden, we use to keep a pile of ashes for whatever we needed.
Great tip Dutch. We use ours for multiple purposes here as well. Throw it down on ice on our dirt driveway, chickens love to dirt bath in it, compost it, etc...
