Video about why not to buy a BMW G310 Gs Went all the way to Shirgaon Lake to go next to the lake & ended up crashing on a offroad trail :-) Here's an honest assessment of the bike
Sam, instead of spending 14-15k on off-road footpegs, try seeing if you can customise the KTM 390 Adventure footpegs to suit your needs. They cost Rs 650 for a pair and are fantastic for off-road riding. I saw someone using them on his BMW GS850 in Tirthan Valley.
Hey thanks so much Abhinav.. only you can come up with brilliant simple solutions.. like the sprocket change! Kudos.. will definitely explore that option.. will get back if I get lucky
Bro... Sehwag & Dravid metaphorical explanation... Nailed it. I felt this as an awareness video rather than negativity. Brilliant. Keep up the good job.
You speak so good - your video is very informative but at the same time it's very enjoyable coz of you. Going to book G310 GS, so was researching in RU-vid and found your videos very helpful. Thanks for sharing.
Very well said. I also own G310GS BS6 and totally agree with your observations. For clunky gearbox, you may ask BMW service centre guy to make adjustment to the gearbox. It fixed the issue for me to a greater extent.
Concerning the neutral, you should always stop at the lights in 1st, so wanting to (and not being able to) find neutral is not really a problem but rather a bad riding habit.
Please just don't say any damn thing to score a point.. What about stop and go traffic.. do you switch off your bike every time.. I was speaking about gearbox being clunky.. And not being able to find neutral.. how difficult is it a statement to digest.... that we have debate on it! . Anyway Happy Holi! 🙏
Just did the test ride. You are absolutely right about the negs. I like the bike. But it doesn't excite me. The good looks don't materialize in performance.and my god the gear is so bad I wonder how come bmw ended up making this flawed bike. Well for me, i think Dom adv makes sense simply because that bike is well suited for an avg Indian rider
The issue with gears is persistent with the Apache series.. and since they share almost same platform I can very well understand ur neutral finding struggle..
I think you forget to mention one more important point which is fuel tank capacity just 11L reserve just 1L... Actually tank looks like 25L but it is just 11L ..Manageable but problematic .
Thanks bro! I will take it as a compliment.. I am basically a very camera shy person.. I don't even get my snaps clicked.. Now I am trying to be my natural self in front of the camera
I love your analysis. If you have a friend who owns a Himalayan may be you could take him and conduct an interview of sorts to compare the pros and cons of both the bikes. I think it will clear a lot of issues over a direct talk.
Hi! So I try to make content on vehicles that I have ridden long term.. I have started making videos more regularly for past 1 month so you never know you my start seeing that kind of content soon! Hope you have been liking the content that I will making for past 1 month. Thank you so much for liking the content. God bless!
I watched your video for the first time and I can say that, continue your vlogging and go for rides. You can very well be one of the best vloggers, wo swag hai aapme! subscribers++;
Hey thanks so much for the encouragement.. will try to keep the pace of making videos.. My work profile doesn't allow me as much time as I would like.. 😊 thanks a ton! ❤️ God bless
Hey I'm planning to buy this bmw 310 gs before this bike i was more into the sports bike ie 310rr but i know myself I'll go for the adventure ride after every 3 month so i decided to go for this bike but i would need your advice if you can suggest me any other adventure bike?
Hi Sam, You convey your thoughts so clearly in all your videos! Quick Q: Just as a tourer which do you think is better (all BS VI): GS310, Mojo or Dominar. I haven't found any comparison videos of these and I'm confused between these 3.
I feel of you are not much into off-road then Dominar .. Because on Highways it will engage you more.. G310 Gs is great all the ways but on open highway I feel it is a bit under powered
@@sri198507 it's good but noticed for long rides I'll have to do something on the seat, yesterday I drove around 100klmtr and noticed I need some kinda seat cushion etc, the bum goes kinda numb after an hour on the stock seat.
Hey thanks so much for liking the content! No it is not legal.. but then so aren't aux lights changing horn exhaust etc etc.. hope you got what I meant to say 😂🤣
Thank Sam for the wonderful video and insight. I was seriously considering this as my first ADV at the age of 46yrs. I think, I will wait for updated Himalayan or settle with KTM 250/390 avatar. "Haathi khareedna aur kahreed ke palna, do alag cheeze hai." Or do you still suggest to go for GS. Thanks in advance. Cheers!!!
Hey thanks for getting in touch.. I would say that BMW is more comfortable ergonomics as well as seat comfort wise also it is a better handler on Off road.. But if you are not too much into Off-road then for street long distance road touring and generally more adrenaline driven ride take ktm I would like to add that almost 90% people use the bike for purposes that KTM is designed for
See if you can afford the spares cost then I would suggest the BMW any day.. but try KTM adv.. if it is onroad travel and you find the looks acceptable then that is a better on road experience.. barring seat comfort
@@NomadSam Spare parts can be taken, but was thinking about the engine part. 21000km in a year for daily comuting. Any other bikes would you suggest expect KTM, its been 6-7yrs riding Bajaj 220f
Sam bhai I am not sure about the latest version of baby gs but mine which was 2018 model had control to switch off the ABS. Also the front had weird issue while bottoming out, it use to make thud sound while decompression against normal while compressing.
Thanks bhai for bringing this up! Front suspension has definitely become better than earlier.. the earlier version used to nose dive.. this is not that bad..

I am sorry.. Since my bike is new.. I won't be able to comment on the life of the battery.. Cost of the battery is the same as any other bije in this segment.. If you are asking about facing issues with battery.. then .. fortunately I have zero issues so far. 🤞
This is not a low end torque bike ..Being a light bike,it's a high end torque bike which needs to be reVed to keep 4k RPM to bring out it's power during off road when it's in 1st gear.low rpm will result in stalling or fall.Heavy bikes like bullet performs well in slow speed and 2.5 K rpm and easily glide over boulders .
Heavy bike has got nothing to do with torque.. it is just about how one tunes the engine.. the tuning of this bike is placed between Himalayan and a KTm so that it performs better on road than a Himalayan and better off road than a KTM Thanks for sharing your opinion
also had not subscribed till not as had missed basically, however my you tube shows your vids since i watch whenever i get time so done subscription this time so thay can get notifications 😊
Ninja 400 is also a fantastic bike.. I would totally recommend.. although you will get very confused opinions from me.. I genuinely believe all bikes are great in today's times.. you have to look for the flavour you want.. BMW suits my requirements more.
My GS should come by next month or June. I am in Mumbai so hope to meet you at sometime and may be ride. Can you let me know from where you got the crash guards fixed? Dash plate and guards will be a requirement before going places.
Hi... I got my crash guards fixed from Motorrad.. If you are not going off-road.. then I would suggest don't spend as the ground clearance is superb and you are not as susceptible to fall.. Keep the bike light.. You will have more fun
Brother myself Rajesh Bose from Kolkata it's one of my dream bike shall I buy it or not.Right now I am riding on classic 350 and Suzuki Burgmen and I am confused shall I buy BMW gs 310 r or not pls let me know thank you.
You can easily buy.. there are absolutely no issues.. go take a test ride.. Since you are already a bullet person.. you might have a mindset to really enjoy this bike..
I didn't say that precisely.. if you only wanna do mild off road then Himalayan works. But BMW is better because of the balance between on and off road. Power no way himalyan is nowhere close.. the way himalyan delivers power is what makes it a off road machine
Most comfortable is Himalayan & BMW g310 GS.. Rest are compromises.. But take a Himalayan as the seat ht is lower so uncle shouldnt have a problem adjusting to the bike.. But take a test ride so that he is clear.. if his legs reach the ground on GS then take GS.. . Hope I have confused you enough 😂🤣
Hi i am planning to buy bmw g310r. I want to ask regarding the accessories which u hav fitted. Did u bought and fitted from bmw motorad or from some other shop
Hi..I am from Guwahati(Assam) and I want to buy this machine....here we don't have showroom,so I have to get the same from Kolkata...I just love this machine. Should I get the same, inspite if knowing the bottleneck of service center...should I still go for it??I'm confused....
Hi.. If it is going to be your only bike then don't buy.. if there is a back up bike you have.. then you can go for it . Every bike requires maintenance.. & can break down anytime.. that time you don't want it to be a 2 month process
Sir bohot bohot shukriya aapka ki aapne video dekha.. Risky to sadak pe chalna bhi hai... To main aapko apni trick batata hoon.. Agar gaadi ke jitni chaudi sadak hai to matlab gaadi jaa sakti hai.. Main sirf chaar tyre sadak pe rakhne ki koshish karta hoon! 😂🤣
Hi Shaurya.. I understand.. there is no concept of Free Service in BMW whether you but a car or a bike. But if you ride 10k kms per annum just calculate the paid service cost difference of KTM and BMW is only 3-4k as I have said. What will kill you in BMW is the spare part cost. That is going to be much higher.. which I have already said.
You have to understand the context ..you are buying into a brand so they don't make money buy selling in quantity.. so you will be transferred the cost of Technicians etc.. Happens with all premium brands. So even though the bike is entry level.. the cost attached is not entry level
hope i get answer for my question im 75 my pillion weighs 55 along with side bags and top box . is this bike enough to ride cross country? just assume that im going to ride for a year blank about terrains all i want to knw is about power for cross country trip ?
If you are driving mostly on roads then I would not recommend this bike. Then o would recommend 390 Adv if you can get past the looks of it . On Road that is a more pleasurable bike.. if you like to cruise at 120-130 The forte of BMW is a mix use of on road and off-road that is where it shines. So to answer your question.. yes you can do it on this bike.. but KTM will be more fun on road
@@NomadSam Ive one more question on reliability of KTM and BMW ? which is better to rely on for long trips (10k+ kilometer) i can compromise with speed im ok with crusing (80kmph) but i should rely on it .
Reliability is at par.. for both.. only place where KTM will score is the dealer network The only thing in reliability front of BMW is that get the battery changed by service centre once under warranty and then you are sorted.. Then no issues.. it has some different kind of battery that is superior but due to it getting shipped from various countries.. loses its potency due to being under no charge for a long duration.
Hello, just wanted to know....isn't there any ecu tuning for bikes especially BMW? Like even if we get a 5-10 PS boost that will clear the thing of feeling underpowered than the KTM. It will be a great video idea also!
Lol 🤣 .. Main yeh kehna chaahta hoon.. ki BMW bohot hi sensible choice hai.. Itni zyaada acche tareeke se kaam karti hai ki kabhi kabhi bore ho jaaoge.. Koi jhatka nahin deti. Koi sudden acceleration nahin hai.. to jo sirf 2 ghanta masti karna chahte hain unko KTM pasand aayegi.. jo 1 din bike chalaana chaahte hain wo bmw lein
@@NomadSam Yeah, sure! My friend is going to buy a bike soon and he was thinking of taking a test ride on this one, too. So I was checking some reviews and landed here. Your video was informative, thanks.😃
@@NomadSam That was the video I checked first, and Vandri Lake is one of the few spots we visit frequently. After checking the Pros I thought of checking the Cons of the bike and I saw this spot (dam) so thought I should comment. 😁
Why wouldn't I.. it is the direct comparison whether you or the reviewers chose to believe it or not.. The same reason you must have already seen videos of BMW vs Himalayan Vs X pulse & then come to my channel.. Every buyer of KTM is considering BMW.. that's ir
The comparison is not on specifications.. the comparison is on feel.. Every person asking for advice infact has always asked between 390 Adv and this bike 😊 Anyway both bikes have their merits and demerits.
Hello Nomad, Rajdeep Gajjar here. I would really like to connect with you on future rides... I am also a motovlog enthusiast and growing my channel. Would be good for my channel to have a cross over or Collab. Regards. Rajdeep Gajjar
