Isn't it strange that what I fell for about my house is what kepts others from buying it? I do like my 1970's house but I'd never have signed the papers if it wasn't for the amazing park like garden that came with it. Spring is in the air and my garden is starting to show how marvelous it is and will be very soon. I hope that you enjoy the garden content, because the season has begun and I'm thrilled!

Oh, living alone is the BEST. Second best; living alone with your dog is the best. Also, you should have seen the look on my realtor's face when I told her I only wanted a house built between 1920 and 1960, with more plants than grass! Luckily for me the things I love everyone else always casts aside.

Hi Elise, I know it will be hard to sell your sweet cottage but there is no way you can keep up two gardens. I know how much work that would be. I absolutely love your new home and the garden is enviable! Once you sell your little cottage, you will be so absorbed in your new garden that I don't think you will miss it much. Your garden is beautiful, full of lovely plants and the soil looks really healthy. It's a very good idea to leave it for a season as it looks like the previous owner was into gardening and wouldn't have left any space unplanted. As for your cottage, you are doing the right thing, impossible to attend two gardens at the same time, sad but we've enjoyed it while it lasted and we will enjoy your new garden even more. ❤

For future reference you could put a tarp on the floor first. Then when you're done all the dirt stays on it. You can roll it up and keep the mess confined until you get outside.

Sell to someone who will take care of it and use the money from the sale into your new home, whether paying on the house or something for the house. You and I have something in common! I too have bought a new house with my partner. It’s a huge step for both of us. It will be hard to sell my little blue house and move 500 miles away but I’m ready for this next chapter. I have such plans for a new garden. The previous owner didn’t garden very much so I have pretty much a blank slate. Your garden is beautiful and I can only imagine how it will look when all your trees have leaves and flowers are blooming. Your new home is gorgeous and made even more so with every change you make. Hey, Elise. I learned something AMAZING this season and I have used it in my small garden and in pots too!! I don't know what they have at your garden center but if you can get some compost.. I got mushrooms and Cow manure compost at mine, put it all around the plants. It refreshes them with new nutrients for this spring season.!! I found out the beauty gardens don't use mulch. They use compost as mulch. Girl, even my seedlings are sprouts FAST. You are going to have an amazing garden. I can see so many things!! Good choice to wait and see. An established garden is a JEWEL❤
