Yes same here! My oldest had a google tablet years ago but we were not a fan. It took awhile to navigate it & I felt it was hard to parental controls on it
I got my kiddos Samsung tablets a7 lite & I wish I would have gotten iPads! I don’t know I could get them so cheap haha! I only got the Samsung tablets bc they were $99 on prime day & I didn’t wanna spend $200+ on each iPad for my young kids lol. There ages 4-1. Your kids will have so much with with those toys! I appreciate you being real. In my family we buy things in the xmas sales in january and then i start saving for and buying gifts in june because it wouldnt be feesible to start in november for us

I didn’t introduce my 7 year old to technology such as iPads etc and when she started school (4 year old) they pulled me to one side and told me she’s behind with technology. I felt forced into giving in. I would rather her play outside like I used to than use screens a lot but unfortunately school took that decision out of my control and I didn’t want her being behind with anything either
If it’s for school she would be doing her book work or computer work anyways instead of being outside during that time. To me that makes it fine since they have to do their homework.
I loved all the gifts you got your kids , I got my son a Nintendo switch lite it was expensive getting that plus games but he said if he could only get 1 thing he wanted that
I got my almost 3 year old a tablet! Me personally sometimes Mama needs to get a few things done! Also it will be super helpful when you’re postpartum and just need a second to get stuff done!
We got all of our kids refurbished Chromebooks for Christmas! Totally agree on saving the money especially when they’re not even in high school yet. We stay on a strict budget too for our kids, so I totally get it! We got the same Taylor Swift book for my stepdaughter-and the Bob Ross and Dolly Parton ones for my other daughters too. Lol 😆
Yes refurbished is best for young kids & saves money & the environment too!!!! We have never had a problem with them. I sat the Dolly Parton one! They are so cute!

I let my daughter play on her for farrrrr longer and I promise she’s learned so much and is so advanced for her age 😂. She’s 3 but so smart. We work with her a little bit from time to time, but she’s learned a ton from the games and activities on her iPad. Nothing wrong with it hun!
Yes. My son is 7 now and some of the games he plays and videos he watches teach him way more than you would think. He was developmentally behind a year and a half ago in school and now he's advanced for his grade
Yea parents need to stop shaming kids for being on technology… my kid knows so much about dinosaurs, tectonic plates, Pangea, that most kids don’t know about her age(3)
My daughter is almost 4 she has the big Amazon kids tablet I have a iPad mini but she prefers her big Amazon one it’s easy for her to use she has all her games and RU-vid for her little shows like kids playing with Barbie’s and that kinda shows, plus my mom found it brand new in the box at goodwill by the pound the bins they call it. It came with the kids case to and she only paid 10 or 20$ they are like over 100$ normally best deal of the year she found it in the summer and I was super excited so I just gave it to to my daughter the day we got it
I bought myself a new iPad on Black Friday and am gifting my 4 year old my old one. It works perfectly fine and is a 10th gen- I just needed one with more storage because I use it for pictures and stuff for my small business. She always steals mine on car trips and stuff to watch Disney+. People can get all upset if they want but you can very easily monitor screen time and there are education games- she had one on mine that taught her Spanish :)
That’s awesome, you deserve it! I felt the same way when I finally upgraded & gave my old iPad to my oldest. Yes it’s very easy to monitor what they have on there & the games that you can get & pay for on the App Store are so worth it! All 3 of my kids love those learning games!
When we started saving in March we budgeted for $300. & then we estimated with a guess how much we would be spending on others & then added another $200 to that amount so we would have enough. It's crazy that we have to start in March but we've learned it helps us not be as stressed when Christmas time comes. This year has been very hard. I'm hoping next year is better in general but I kinda doubt it honestly... Thank you so much!
@@MegaMom ok. I budgeted 200 a kid and I have a 5 year old girl, 7 year old boy and a 13 year old girl. My oldest I did smaller since she got a phone but man it’s so hard to know what to spend per kid.

@@stephanieschimek595 $300 is what we usually do every year but this year we had to bump it to $350 by the time we started buying presents because everything was just so expensive & we wanted it to be pretty even for all 3 kids so there was some give & take in the budget with the joint gifts for the kids. Thank you so much! I appreciate that ❤️ I just made a lot of disclaimers about the iPads because I got a lot of hate comments about getting Maverick one last year.
@@MegaMom oh screw them people. I think you’re doing amazing and as a mom of three I know the need for an iPad in certain situations. Ok, man then I think I should spend more. I got my kids 7 gifts each this year because sometimes I feel like if I give them more they end up not playing with the gifts. I think you got all really good gifts and good prices. They need technology early to be able to be familiar with it when they start school, that’s the world we live in now! Nobody has a right to judge anybody else, no one way is the right way, everybody should do what ever works for them, it’s fun to see the different traditions people have for Christmas.
If you listened correctly I actually mentioned & said that my oldest (aka my 5.5 year old daughter) had & still has my old iPad that was perfectly fine until it started to go downhill earlier this year because it’s 11 years old so that’s why she’s getting this new to us refurbished one. So yeah it does make sense.
im lowkey sad that its so normalized for kids to have so mang screens at such an early age. Hopefully my generation raises our kids to not be ipad kids
I agree. Screen should not be freely given especially to young children. I know this time is different than our time and technology is everywhere but as parents, we have the power to limit screen time (at least at home or when kids are with us). Giving iPad to children and "not" considering it as iPad kids kinda contradict with each other. And lol I think hearing opinions can be unsolicited to those who don't like what they hear but merely stating an opinion is not unsolicited.
Thank you both! Yes even though we have child locks & only the kids app, it still makes me nervous that maybe it’ll pop up on our TV or something & I don’t want to spoil Christmas for them. Just something I’m considering, all depends next year!
