In our house, Santa brings stockings and one big gift. We always label the gifts from Mom and Dad or Santa. Also, Santa gifts are wrapped in a different wrapping paper or sometimes just a bow depending on the gift.

Santa brings all the presents and always will in my house until they are old enough to understand

I think kids understand "pretending". So I tell the story of Santa by saying we pretend that there is a Santa who comes down the chimney and brings us the presents that we buy/make for each other. In other words, this is a game we play on Christmas.

Ooo I'm so excited! We want to do the 4 gift rule once we have kids, trying to get the grandparents on board will probably be our biggest hurdle. My parents always did Santa gifts as just one gift a year. The rest were from Mom and Dad but I only got a handful of gifts each year. The clear mascara and wooden toy set are a great idea! I heard a tip from somebody that when they get to the play make up stage it's probably safer and more practical to just buy cheap drug store make up instead of the little kid make up that is bad for their skin and smells so weird.

I know!! I always tell the grandparents to not get so much but they never listen to me 😂 and I have heard that too! They can breakout or be allergic to some of that play stuff!

Maybe ask grandparents to keep "extra gifts" beyond the 4 gift rule at their house for the kids to enjoy when they visit.

We do 1 gift form Santa and nothing to big from him and stocking are from him but stocking are just goodies in this house

Our kids are 22 months and 3.5. We have a small gift from Santa under the tree. We read lots of books that have Santa at Christmas time but we also don’t push the narrative too much.

Parents get credit after they find out.. the Christmas magic is the reward to me.. I hate when ppl say they want the credit.. it’s selfish.. ijs

It’s never too early to teach your kids the value of a dollar, and about how hard we as parents work for them! And I want my kids to respect the fact that we do all we can for them and not grow up to be spoiled brats. I hate when people try to mom shame women who always put their kids needs above their own and just try to be the best mom they can be! We should be lifting each other up not tearing each other down…and if we can’t do that then we should keep our opinions to ourselves 😌

Yeah I’m 15 and I haven’t believed in Santa in years so I know all those years my parents got me presents and I was still grateful back then even though they were all from Santa and plus we did the whole putting out milk and cookies for Santa and stuff like that, none of the presents were from our parents even though we were quite poor back then (my dad worked multiple jobs to make sure the bills were payed) but my parents always worked hard and made sure we had a great Christmas and took no credit for it since we still believed in Santa (what I mean by we is me and my older brother)
