guess who's back back again sruh is back tell a friend!
for the mathematicians out there... i am aware that i, in fact, am only technically beginning my 10th year of journaling this year and so, in fact, have yet to complete a full decade of journaling at this current moment. to that i say... i am but a youtuber trying to make a catchy title, not a mathematician.
also if my journal is considered female then we definitely don't always pass the bechdel test but that's between us.

@@praefectusdepraetorio8480i've used moleskine journals for several years and i like them! MUJI also has good ones and they're way more affordable (if you have access to MUJI near you). this year i'm using a LEUCHTTURM1917 one for the first time - pretty nice, it has some more things like page numbers and a table of contents, but otherwise it's very similar to moleskine journals (and slightly more expensive)

Reading back can induce anger, cringe, perplexity, laughter, but most of all gratefulness that I kept using this incredible tool for self-knowledge. Each entry holds the treasure of its memory, but also the promess of a new insight when read at a new stage of your life. I have an academic journal in which I record my exam results and how I felt the exam went and how I could improve. It's really interesting looking back on how far I've come and it's really motivated me to push myself and weirdly enjoy the exam experience. Since I've started writing in it I've become far less stressed over exams and that's helped me to push my grades up as I just don't seem to panic any more which ultimately helps me to focus. I'd highly recommended it to anyone that's struggling with school or just wants to be able to look back on their achievements, academic or otherwise

I'm around halfway through, journaling at least once every two weeks. it's a powerful habit. it really is. and i've yet to read the note at the end.

Started journaling in 2009 at 8 years old. I have 13 journals now. It’s been the backbone of my identity, the essence of my memory and why it’s so well-developed and detail-oriented and my therapist. Journalling is incredible. It’s kept me in the light when I forgot who I was in difficult times. It’s kept me sane during quarantine. It keeps me happy in times of darkness. Journalling is the best.

Beautiful video Sarah. I started journalling when I was 14. Around 17, my then girlfriend kept pestering me about wanting to read it. I was not comfortable sharing it, so I burnt my journals. Since then I'd keep slimmer journals and destroy them when they were filled. When I was 28, I came back from work one day and found out the girl I was dating then was reading my journal and she thought it'd be funny to reference my innermost thoughts to me and make fun of them. I could never look at her the same and we eventually drifted apart. Since then I tend to write stuff online a lot. But I still like prefer pen and paper. I'm 35 now. I often write and tear off the page and throw it away. For me looking back at them is not important. But it's been a huge part of how I have navigated life in the past 2 decades and something I'm pretty sure to keep doing until I die.
@mina7382
@mina7382 Год назад
it's cool that you actually kept those journals and wrote down all those now seemingly mundane parts of your teenage life. i was always too afraid someone would read my stuff and so I would cut away all the details and just write I'm happy or I'm grateful. I definitely wish i had written down more emotions y'know to see what I was feeling then and how I overcame them and like you said how things get better with time even though in that moment it seems like there's no way out.

man. i love to see other people be so in love with journalling for different reasons. i've tried keeping a diary as a kid because i thought it made me look oh so cool and secretive, but of course, that motivation didn't last long :D when some traumatic things started happening to me, a notebook of mine which i was previously using to jot down ideas for fanfictions (can you tell i was popular) became the place for me to dump all of it, to get it off my mind and documented for therapy years later. journalling has saved my life and since then, i've changed my approach to it several times. it's versatile and you can really costumize it to fit your needs. i'm on my fifth or sixth now and it still helps me out tremendously and in the end i just really like the feel of a well-loved notebook :]

I have been journaling since 2008, and I am 25 now.. I recently got rid of all my journal diaries. Although it helped me to soothe, calm, and release all my feelings by letting it out in those diaries, I felt like it was too personal for anybody to read it. I feel more calm, relaxed, and at peace after getting rid of those diaries (the painful+traumatic+happy+sad experiences accumulated for all those years). I consciously decided to integrate the lessons I learned from people, places, and my experience with them. It definitely feels great to be a lifelong writer, but at the same time its also a reminder to cleanse, and I personally would not regret putting out all those diaries. I started journaling a year ago, and it has helped me so much in life. It is a digital journal, but it helps just as much. When I first started journaling, I didn’t have anyone to talk about my feelings to. With journaling, I felt like I finally had a safe space to go to. It was free therapy. Now, I am in counseling and trying to figure out how to fight my anxiety. I still love journaling, though. Even though I haven’t been journaling as long, it has had a big impact on my life. I’ve been going back and reading my old journal from last year, and I’ve changed a lot since then. I struggle with remembering things, and journaling lets me look back on my life, too. Back in 2018, my church group gave us journals that we could use. Five years later and I still haven't finished it yet. I'm so grateful for journalling and there are plenty of gaps between my entries but watching this video reminded me that I had that incomplete journal. Looking back in it, it is fun to see all the silly little problems I used to worry about compared to now.

This video is so beautiful. It motivates me to write more beautiful memories and thoughts just so i can read back and feel less depressed as if i never had good days. When u said splurge...im reminded of times i always did go for those portable yet thick hardbound journals. I honestly scheme through the pages just to stare at my changing handwriting while also recognizing the same toxic traits that held me back and still hold me back. Some being more of the lost dreams and aspirations I no longer have the same passion for.

Being still a kid or so, the only problem that I face while writing journel is that "what if mom find out my journal and read it" that's so annoying uk. And if I hide it than I'm sure that she will be more curious about it. So the only way left for me is to "keep in mind that maybe someday someone will gonna read it" yet when I go through my journal it's more like "something that no one can read" 🙂 I even stop sharing thoughts in my journal for a month last year and now I'm regretting. But now days I'm pretty much trying to be more free with my journal like trying to forget that "what will happen if mom find out" 😅 And yes! Your voice is so sweet and so calming and this video is just amazing!! I wish you good luck for your channel 🌸 and would love to hear more about your journey with journals :D.

i tooootally understand - as a kid i briefly had a diary but stopped when my sibling read all of it and mocked me for it 🥲 and I definitely felt a lot of fear/resistance of people reading all of my thoughts at first, but I guess as the years go on i think journaling has really let me become more comfortable expressing my own thoughts and feelings, not only on paper but in real life! It’s like eventually your “journal-you” and your “outside-you” become closer and closer until it’s not as scary to embrace your thoughts and feelings wholeheartedly.

I’ve been journaling on and off since middle school, and then a positive interaction with my 7th teacher where she gave us all journals encouraged me to get my own that was more personalized. I started doing it more often after a really bad patch mentally (i’d gotten back from the psych ward) and was encouraged to continue it again in therapy. Now it takes me a good 8-12 months to fill one out, and my favorite type of journaling is looking back on old pages and annotating my thoughts from back then.

I've been journaling since I was 13, and now I'm 20. This video was so so relatable, I also journaled about things i had issues with back then, that i still have now, like isolation. And it is very interesting to read an entry i wrote years ago, and remember a lot about that time in my life. My journals were also very angsty in my early teens. I don't really journal every day either, often like you, my journal gets revisited when i go through something difficult. But I do reflect on happy moments too, and sometimes i will just write about my casual or ordinary day. I think journaling is like a mirror, allowing you to reflect on your thoughts and emotions and experiences. Journaling for this long has allowed me to gain clarity and insight into many things. Thanks for this amazing and relatable video!

I love this video :c I've been journaling since the 4th grade and am now a first year university student. Often times I found myself putting that hobby away in a drawer for months thinking "what's the point? no one will read it so why should I write it" or feeling bad that I have been too busy with life to document it. This video definitely makes me want to be more consistent with it again - while also knowing not to pressure myself to write or feel bad when I'm too busy enjoying myself ^^ journaling is for yourself, but it can also be to document lessons to help others through their hard times too. I like to think I experience these things, to write it down, to remember it, and to share the memory with someone else.

I'm fifteen now and one day when I was thirteen, my dad got me a really pretty leather journal. I started writing in it and now I have finished 3 books and am on my fourth. The thing she said about most journal entries being written when you're not feeling your best is so true because most of my entries used to be like that. But recently, I have been writing less and less and while watching this video, I had a realization that it's because my life has gotten so much more better and I don't find the need to vent anymore. I can live and feel but at the same time, I want to document my experiences as well. So, these days I'm trying to write down not just negative feelings but the happy ones too. And, thanks to you for helping me realize that!

I initially started journalling in 2019 during a hard time in my life and I live by it, I love it so much and I recommend it to anyone I can if it works for them. I have short-term memory and I love being able to go back and as you said, read every detail of that day and relive memories. I totally feel you when you said that you wanted to start writing down good and happy moments too because I had that realization too. I didn't want my journal to only be full of my problems and conflicting feelings, but to start being grateful about even the smallest moments that bring joy to my life, to document things such as my relationships (even if the relationship has passed, its still good memories), big events, or little moments with friends and family, or even just myself. I think when you start to look and notice the good things in life, more will come and ultimately we just all want to be happy and fulfilled right? Thanks for this video, to many more years of writing!

I know I'm a bit late but thank you so much for this video! It has this really comforting and cozy feeling to it and I love it. I've been journaling for a few years now, on and off. I don't think enough time has passed for me to read those entries, because some of them are still pretty much open wounds. But it really is so helpful, just being able to write all of my feelings down with no judgement, no questions, just being able to complain about things and people without it making any damage. Documenting my life. And you're so right when you mentioned the not switching to digital. Nothing can beat paper and pen. One thing that took me time to realise was that my journals don't have to look great. So now I have a separate notebook (that's also a sketchbook from the other side) for experiences and memories where I can draw stuff, stick photos and make it look pretty. And it doesn't stop me from writing about how I feel. I also have this box and when I feel like it, I just write a little note with whatever that made me happy that day (however small it is) because that takes literally like a minute to do and I just have this big collection of notes with only the good things. And reading through them always makes me a lot happier. Okay, this got a lot longer than I expected but I really needed to share this with someone :D

I started journaling in the 6th grade at the start of 2013. At first started daily, and then when I couldn’t keep up with a daily entry, and tried to catch up. That eventually led me to stop journaling. I picked it back up freshman year and have consistently written since. I’ve filled up 3 1/2 so far. Always interesting to read back and see the growth or goals I had and accomplished or friends I had for seasons and everything in between. It’s definitely a journey for sure!

Okay, my story is alittle bit different. I started journaling for the first time in june of 2022. I was 12 at the time. I would write like secrets and tons of stuff that went on in my life. I started journaling cause i wanted to be able to look back later in my life and see how i was feeling on that day or what i was doing. I would write almost everyday. Now April of 2023, i have filled 9, almost 10 journals since june of last year! Isn't that insane!!??? I now write everyday and i write down every single detail of my life down in my journals. It makes me feel like i am not alone and writeing all my thoughts down really makes me feel like someone is listening to me. If yoy know what i mean. Also sorry if i spelt stuff wrong lol. ❤❤❤

I started to journal at the age of 9 and I’m still going strong even though I skipped 2020 entirely… It is crazy how your writing develops over the years and what types of information you actually write down. It started with me talking about planned trips with my family and now includes little life updates and emotional outbursts of happiness or sadness. I sometimes do a before and after comparison when writing class tests or deciding on an important matter. It kind of releases the anxiety after everything is finished already, a sign of relief I guess. A journal also shows the different life stages you go through. My hate subjects changed over the years multiple times similar to my friend group, which is kind of sad XD

I saw a quote (I don't really remember where I read that tho), Someone who keeps a journal appreciates their life special. Because they keep writing books although the books have no readers except the ownerself. I mean, someone who keeps a journal values their life and experiences in a unique way. By writing down their thoughts, feelings, and memories in a journal, they are creating a personal "book" of their life. Even though these journals may not be read by anyone else, the act of writing them is still meaningful to the person who owns them. Keeping a journal is a way of cherishing one's own life, even if no one else is there to witness it!!🥰🥰🥰

I love journaling, I have notebooks filled to the brim with my daily thoughts when I’m in high school and I’ll have others that are barely picked up. Like you say I find that my saddest most depressed moments have been captured where as my happiest moments are said in a few moments if that, moments of childhood I know I’ll never get back are captured. I think I used to think of journals as something to be very neat and organised going like ‘dear diary today…’ and that thought process sort of made me feel to pressured and out of journaling and also sounded very boring to me. I journal most when it’s just me thought dumping or quickly getting down a to-do list or watching a video and wanting to take notes, I also have sketch books like this some that I have filled to the brim adding receipts and stickers and quotes and poems as well as drawings of things that inspire me or just stuff of Pinterest. I think journaling definitely helped with my mental health in times when I felt too embarrassed to talk to anyone or felt very lonely or my thoughts were just chaotic and difficult to communicate.
