Invicta pro diver automatic has been one of my most reliable watches. It's from 2011 so 9 years old and still running strong.
@davidkoeppen3121
@davidkoeppen3121 4 года назад
I wear my pro diver auto to work every day for 8 years. still works well. It's been dropped probably 80 times because I take it off and set it on the arm of my recliner and then knock it off but it still works great. It now loses about 1-2 minutes a day but I think it's because of being dropped. I even had a dog bite my arm and it dented the bezel slightly and broke the bracelet. New silicone band and it was ready to roll! The pro diver auto uses the Seiko movement and is very reliable.

It only becomes a problem when you care WAY too much about what other people think. It’s very "high school." I own several Invicta Pro Divers because they look good to me. I get a certain amount of joy tinkering with them, setting the time to the second each day, and don’t really give a shit about what you or anyone else has to say about Invicta. I like them because they are good quality, affordable., and make me feel happy. I once dreamed of owning a Rolex Submariner so I could be cool, like James Bond. But, the price for that foolish desire makes me, more or less, throw up in my mouth a bit. If someone wants to spend upwards of $8000 for a fucking watch… go for it. You can now impress your boss, friends, and countless others. Be happy.
@christophermm23

Notice that his switch was nothing negative about Invicta quality, it was just him sucoming to peer pressure and being scared of his future. Regardless to what you are doing or wearing/own, it's you inside that determines who you are, not some mamas boy slob that you have something in common with. Know who you are be comfortable with what you personally like.

Hello Jeffrey! I have owned 3 invicta watches, and all of them was grade A quality. I know it doesnt cost a lot of money to buy, but when you are comparing the quality with other high end brands that does not have a solid gold case + bracelet, it is allmost better at invicta. I have worn the pro diver series for 6 years now, and even though it gets scratches here and there, there is NO form of gold scratching off or anything like that. it is a everyday watch, and i would never expect that a gold toned watch thats not solid would look so nice after 6 years.

As a collector of anything, you will evolve. Invicta is absolutely a gateway drug, it introduces people to variety at an affordable price with lots of styles to suit many individual’s tastes. Their heyday was really 2001-2008, more models were of higher quality and more focus was spent on quality control. They got too big too fast and have suffered since. You seem to be fortunate enough to have no real issues (or chose not to mention them), and that’s a good thing. But watches are like anything else you may collect... dipping your toe in the water with affordable priced options feels safer, and you enjoy owning many different looks. Maybe it’s knives or guns or pens... people rarely begin at the top echelon, but most tend to evolve in that direction. Your $11k investment would have paid for one Panerai or Rolex. Maybe 2-3 Breitling or Omega. But as a collector, you may not have been happy at the time wearing only one style of watch every single day. Your Orient is a fantastic watch by the way, I regret selling my orange dial version ten years ago. They had a special deal for a holiday for $750ish and they immediately went back up to $1800. Whether it’s Seiko, Breitling or Invicta... buy what YOU like, for your own reasons. As long as the quality matches up to your expectation, just enjoy them. I spent a lot of years helping Invicta build their empire. I believed in the product, especially early-on. But over time I came to see through many of the BS and became less and less enamored with how they did business. I changed my “pitch” quite a bit towards the end, especially regarding their quality/CS and the onslaught of gigantic sized watches. I kept asking for more human sizes (44-46mm) because after a while, aside from maybe a Subaqua or Russian Diver, anything over 46mm was just far too large to be taken seriously.
@JeffreyMcMahon
@JeffreyMcMahon 6 лет назад
I bought Invicta during your hey day, and I agree their models were more appealing then, and their quality did indeed seem better. I do miss my 50mm Speedmaster XL Reserve gunmetal with sapphire crystal. It was a fine timepiece.

Jeffrey McMahon They did a great job with those. A lot of time spent on development and on good quality components and good movements. If you want what I believe is the best bang for the buck in midrange sport/divers, go to jomashop (best prices I’ve seen) and grab a Breitling Avenger Seawolf. Just stumbled on your review. I'm now retired and a modest watch collector (Chinese, Japanese, and Swiss). After many, many watch reviews and some watch education..., ironically, I just purchased my first Invicta, the Pro Diver, automatic, submariner homage. It's one of the least expensive watches in my collection, but probably my highest value time piece to date. Is it perfect, of couse not, but it has so many positives even before you get to that low price (and keeps great time). Other than their Pro Divers, the rest of their brand is mostly hedious to me. I can appreciate the hate for this particular model when I think of the higher out of pocket cost I (and others) have spent for little or no more discernable quality in a number of well regarded name brand watches. Don't think I'll get addicted to this brand or model, but it has opened my eyes to the watch industry's smoke and mirrors regarding marketing vs value/quality in a time piece. Thank you. Nice that you moved on. I think Invicta makes interesting watches. If you loose or break it you can replace it. With the $11,000.00 + watches you might suffer a stroke! To each their own. I will stick with invicta because they do have good products.

i started with seiko as my very first watch and then moved up to tag heuer, tissot, movado, bulova, and at one time owned an omega. they were to plain and boring. it felt like i was paying for the brand more than the actual watch itself. i saw a guy wearing a invicta subaqua noma V and asked him what kind of watch it was (not knowing at the time) the watch was beautiful! since then i now own 8 subaqua/reserve invicta watches and could never be more happier. sold my tags, tissot and movados recently.

I have 8 watches. But I really only have 2, because six of them were bought through ignorance (no Invictas but same difference), before I knew what a good watch is, before I even knew the difference between automatic and quartz. And my 2 that I count are an Orient and a Sharky, not even expensive. Soon it’ll be 4, and I’m evolving. Hamilton Khaki day date, and an Oris Auquis titanium with Jon the collection. Looks like you touched a nerve with some Invicta customers though.

I use to love Invicta, then the Apple Watch was released. I wore that, 5 years later, I'm now considering Invicta again, mainly the Pro Divers. 16739, 8928OB, 8932, etc. What I don't understand is how people in general talk down about them. No, they're not worth the retailed price, and the best place to get them is Amazon, but for $60+ you're getting pretty good quality and the movements are pretty decent. Sure it's self preference, but don't condemn someone because they like something you don't like. It's funny because, it's always the guys who wore them that speak the worst about them.

What’s wrong with the nh35? Nothing. It’s the same movement as in a lot of decent watches,That other manufacturers use.It’s pretty accurate,Reliable and robust for an automatic,! I’ve got a couple spinnakers that use the same movement, there’s not a little difference In case quality between my Invicta diver and my spinnaker Dumas ,They both use the same movement so what’s the difference? One was 100 and the other one was $400. It is what it is

Its all about personal preference and what motivate us in buying Invicta watches. I'm not a type of person who get hook up on fancy watches. I'm happy on watches I bought in Walmart for $10 dollars. But for years I have watches $50K Rolex, Movado, and some Swiss made which including Japanese Seiko. Even though there clock everywhere you turn like car radios and smart phone, I have no real need nor obsession to buy expensive watches. I have bought 8 Invicta watches and to me it is just a functional reliable tool and nothing more. It may not be as too many compared to what you've collected but I'm very happy with my Invicta watches and I'm glad that you realized that there are many good or perhaps excellent mens watch out there in the market. As far as the Invicta sales pitch., well that is typical for any salesperson want to make a sales goal and I don't fault them for exaggeration. But the fact is that Invicta watches are good watch. We work hard for the money we spend and its right that you deserve what is best for you. I hope you do make videos that what kind of watches that worth buying. Like what you said earlier that ignorant can cost you lots of money. God speed...

you want a good invicta if you can find them 4469,4470,4512 all these are good swiss made models I have had a two of these models they have sapphire crystal the 4470 has the highest grade trinite invicta offers mine is almost 10 years old and the Lume is more brighter then my tag heuer and it has a 1.23kt diamond bezel. I get complements on it all the time but this once was sold at Zales back in 09 for $1500 on sale out the door. so you do pay for what you get.

Very funny and entertaining. Invicta's are tough and work well. I always have an Invicta in my pack as a back-up watch when I travel overseas. I also wear Invicta when working in the shady parts of town. Another plus when overseas, Gypsies won't try to steal them off of your wrist. Invicta's work and for the money they are great decoy watches.

invicta has a huge (correction : gigantic) range of watches, of course some are tacky and bulging and huge and ornate to a fault (for me anyways), others are beautiful, tasteful and well built, no matter what anyone tries to tell you, so you can't generalize that wearing any invicta would be out of place for a 50 or 60 yr old. I have a couple of grand divers with miyota auto mvmts that are as precise or better than my seiko monster and i am not at all embarassed about them, at 47mm, they are ideal for my eyes. Sure, there are a lot of tribute watches (some of the "nicest" invictas in a classic sense) and some original like the subaqua reserves which are big but not unattractive. I have purchased and sold a few dozen watches last 3-4 years. Frankly i don't care about "appearances" so much that I wouldn't wear an invicta grand diver to a party. I wear it because i like the teal dial and the polished bracelet and the way it looks, despite the lack of a sapphire cyrstal that is convex for off angle viewing. And no, nobody is studying watches and making a note of brands, more likely if they like it they will comment- that's positive!, and if the discussion goes further and the commenter walks away when you finally tell him its a $200 watch (why would you be telling someone what you paid for a piece of jewelry), well so be it, that's his problem not yours. I never bought the more ornate ones that i find unattractive - those "excessive" watches are the ones that have gotten invicta a lot of heat from watch collectors (besides the constant complaints about supposed poor quality a-z and pure copying of rolex), but i'm not against bigger cases. In fact, I have problems with a lot of watches because at my age, i dont wear glasses full time but mostly for reading, so i have bought several watches that I cannot see well, where the hands blend into the background because the hands don't stand out well and have had to sell them - like a sub-aqua taylor cosc that i really liked except that i couldn't really read the time easily on it. My 2000 seamaster is almost too small at 42 mm, and the skeleton hands i cant see as well, not to mention I have spent 800 bucks on 2 cleanings and it never kept good time from day 1. Talk about disappointment. My 200 $ seiko and invicta autos keeps perfect time, not the omega though. When i got the omega, I thought I would be wearing it every day forever, but my only option now is to send it to Switzerland for service and spend another 600 bucks, but its smallish and hard to read for me so i wont do it unless I give it to my son. I too have too many watches, and have stopped buying for the most part. Invicta can cause you to buy several watches. Why is that? Because they offer for the most part tremendous value to the casual watch buyer, and they make millions of them. Some have decent movements, but don't fool yourself, a good movement is not necessarily a hand made piece with months of labor on it (or even hours). Its one that is reliable, robust and precise. Unless you are buying an exhibition movement at tens of thousands or more, you do not "live inside your movement", you own it because you can rely on it, that it will survive shocks and tell the time accurately - what does that cost - $25-50 for a good swiss made quartz movt at the manufacturing level, about the same for a seiko or miyota auto. Anything beyond that is purely psychological benefit, i.e. the way it makes you feel that you have an $8000 movement inside your watch, one that will cost you a fortune to clean and maintain incidentally, but to each his own. The mechanical magic of movements is something that can make a collector feel good and proud, etc., that has value in some cases at the high end for collectors if well maintained, but it won't get you to the train station any more on time than a cheap quartz watch of course. Invicta has plenty of diverse styles for every taste, and I have never had a single problem with mine, I don't dive, but no leaks, no seal problems, no movement problems. I have invictas and higher end watches, I am very interested in design and i like all of the watches i buy, Like with anything, there will be items that whose design won't get outdated and those are the watches you will probably wear most. As for size, I know where I stand. I won't go back to a 40 or 42mm watch.

You know age have nothing to do with wearing an oversized watch, I actually owe 8 Invicta watches all of them between 50 and 52 millimeters case, I like them I know what I’m buying, they are not an investment; at the end I guess if you enjoy the watch that’s all it matters. Don’t like it anymore, try to sale it or give it to somebody.

I bought my after watching several youtube videos about it. My $70.00 is awesome. Will lot for yacht master, when I can get for good price. Problem with buying expensive watches is - few watch fans only want a few watches. Common collections are 15 watches. Actually real ganster wear swiss watches & wanna be pretenders wear big invivtas because real gansters have real money. Now when you grow your watch collection it will cost approx 20x more. I think your addiction was shopping channels, and blaming on watch brand is simply classic blame transferance.

Watch is not jewelry. Watch is not a tool; even though many tools wear Rolex. Watch is an instrument. A time keeping instrument. A time measuring instrument. A chronograph went to the Moon with the man (allegedly). It was to measure time of the lunar excursions, in case the digital timers in the suits failed. Watch was a backup instrumentation. Just like aircraft cockpit is filled with instruments, the watch is a portable, wearable, instrument.

I think I have about 15 watches and Timex, Casio, and Invicta are all fighting for the first place spot. The way I look at it is instead of paying 40k for a Rolex Submariner which MSRPs around 8k, I rather pay 69.95 for an Invicta Jubilee that MSRPs around 2k. The point is this is a much cheaper way of wearing a watch that is invisible and no one cares about. That's right people! Unless you're around watch collectors, no one cares about that stainless steel watch that you paid as much for as a new car! There is not one piece in my collection that doesn't make me happy, also there isnt one piece in my collection that makes me feel fiscally irresponsible or just downright moronic.

So what's the reason why he stop buying Invicta watches?? It wasn't because of faulty workmanship or a horrible customer service Hmmm is this because the watch gave you a false "Status feeling"? My Invicta story is in 2010 I bought a Grand Lupah Bijoux from Amazon. First off, it was way bigger than I thought it would be. Like stupid big. But I'm a big guy, I could get away with it. The problem was, the butterfly clasp wouldn't stay shut. Also the day of the week hand landed between days. Amazon had none left to exchange, so I called invicta. They said the clasp was not warrantied and if I wanted the hand adjusted, I'd have to mail it to them insured (about $20) and enclose a check for $25 return shipping. I realized the watch was a piece of shit made by a company who won't really didn't stand behind it. I sent it back to Amazon and swapped it for a titanium Citizen. It was their flagship watch that year. Awesome watch, same price. I still have it. Since then, I got dozens of watches. From $20 Chinese mechanicals off Ebay to Omegas and a Tag Monaco. Even some Fossils and Russian watches. But I'll never touch another invicta. Maybe if one turns up in the thrift store for ten bucks.

invicta is really a value for money brand if youre going for a certain look. they do bold statement pieces really well and i for sure wont hate on them. at least theyre trying to be creative in design. on the flipside you have sub and daytona homages made by them. ok fine there are for sure better value watches out there, sapphire crystal and ceramic bezel and such, but invicta has brand recognition so its really more about what youre willing to pay for. ive got one invicta quartz sub diver for when i couldnt use a watch that would gain or lose seconds a day and i didnt have the money for a grand seiko. i really like it and i plan on keeping it until the battery dies at least. i might pick up a grand diver and mod it with a sapphire crystal and put on some more lume because theyre attractive watches. buy what you like, i dont think theres a forward or backward in this community and its time we stopped acting like their is

You know you want some more Invictas, go ahead, admit it! LOL. I'm 46 and I have 4 Invicta Russian Divers now, 2 are camo style, 1 has GMT. I'm a big guy with 8 inch wrists. I think the size is great for me, and there aren't too many other watches that are large as many "watch people" seem to be little guys with 6.5 inch wrists that you can snap in half by looking at them hard. Also, now my eyes suck and my grail for a long time was the IWC big pilot, only because I can read it easily and there's no extra crap in the background like on G shocks which has all kinds of little digital windows that do who knows what because I can't see them anyway. These Invictas have large, easy to read dials. Love em. And, they're not expensive so they are great as a daily casual watch/beater watch, and still some are Swiss made and have Swiss Ronda movements. What's wrong with that?
