When the soles of my Renoir boots were damaged, I wondered if maybe they weren't as well-made as I thought. But I realized that no shoes last forever. Modern shoes made from synthetic materials are almost pointless to try and repair. But historical shoes were made from sturdy leather and could be completely re-soled if needed. With historical reproduction shoes, I feel we have the best of both worlds. I now have my favorite boots looking spiffy and new with good rubber soles built onto a strong leather foundation 😄
