Ugh! I love London so much! My boyfriend I and went in June, from Texas, just to see my favorite performer. In that short time we both fell in love with the city. What’s crazy is, we’ll be back in two weeks-again to see my favorite performer. All we can think about is being there

Having done the move from London back to the States after living there for a few years - I get it. ...and reverse culture shock is really and truly a thing. But the great thing?! You can always go back! Each time you'll go back something will change about the city, too, which is always fun! And you will keep your British friends (I have for over 15 years), and every time you see them, it'll be like no time has passed. Just remember, "Hold on to the memories, they will hold on to you." ❤

I'm not a city person so despite London being an hours train journey away I barely ever go. You should definitely try return to the UK and explore more of it though, where i am in Suffolk has beautiful countryside, amazing historic towns, villages and houses, castles and even Ed Sheeran. All 1-2 hours from London.

So many things that you love about London are what my family love! - my daughters especially who won't be leaving in a hurry (despite that they could live a LOT more cheaply further out). I've been lucky to visit many capitals and big cities all over the world, and still nothing beats it for atmosphere, culture, history (and the mix of ancient and modern), food & drink, entertainment, transportation (!) and diversity. Like others on here, I think (and hope) you'll be back. Oh and sorry the date didn't work out - maybe for the best as you're leaving (for now!). Enjoy being back home (and having to drive everywhere! I know what the US is like for that)

So glad you had a wonderful time in my home city! It's a magical place. Especially when the Christmas lights are turned on in 1-2 weeks and all the stores are decorated. Hope you got to try our cuisine. Full English Breakfast, Fish and Chips, Roast dinners, Pie, Mash and Liquor, etc. It's so homely. Life must go on. We will but soon become a memory! Well I wasn’t expecting to shed a tear along with you but I did! I know you will miss London soo much. I think you will definitely be back. Oh, wow. I loved this video so much. Sometimes it's good to hear somebody talk about your country from an outsider's perspective to remind you of what there is to appreciate. I'm not from London, in fact I'm from the north east in Durham but I know London well and a lot of what you said is relevant to other places too. You've obviously got the very best out of your time here and embraced the experience. You'll never be the same and your mind has been broadened and your understanding both of the world and of your own country is hugely improved. Safe journey home and come back soon.

Hi Izzy, good luck on the next chapter of your life. Crumpets should be grilled. Then smothered in Real butter. They can be described as butter sponges, perfect with a cup of tea on a rainy moody day.

Crumpets can be grilled, but also you can just stick them in a toaster until the top goes crispy. Then melt butter down the holes. It’s cold weather winter food.

Hello Izzy, I have not come across your channel before. Watching this was, for me, an emotional experience . I am British, and yet I too enjoy your listed joys, especially the parks. I have a particular fondness for Victoria Park as we lived on a 62' long narrow biat on Regent's canal for two years. Speaking as a Londoner born in the city who returned to it as an adult, I am glad that you enjoyed the experience. You had a good list. And it's good if your life is up in the air at the moment, as you are young so you have lots of possibilities and it would be sad if you thought you knew exactly what would happen in your future. I have lived here most of my life and I still find new things here, even in areas I think I know well, although it is far from perfect and we seem to be going in the direction of the US in some ways. Next time you are here, check out the Wallace Collection and Kenwood House. Both are good first date venues too. And crumpets are best toasted over an open log fire.

You get negative people who set their focus on the bad, these people will talk about the negatives of a place like London. This is how their mind works, you don’t want these kind of people in your life, they will drag you down. Then you are positive people like Izzy here, surround yourself with these people as they will lift you. London has its problems but they are completely cancelled out by the positives.

Seems simple to me! Go back to the USA, work to elect a politician who cares about your health, your work life balance and public transport. Open a cafe/bar that serves fresh baked goods and doesn’t hurry you out. Refuse take outs and make people sit and talk over their coffee. Pay your staff a decent wage…… et voila…

As for work balance, I know so many froiends who got there by working hard on their career, buying a big house, and retiring early as a millionaire with no mortgage. Too many Europeans live with their parents and grandparents waiting for them to die so they finally get a house to live in. As for health, I wouldn't trade what I had, insurance paid for by my employer until I reached the age to receive Medicare, the elder health insurance paid for by the government. Every big city has ample public transportation: busses, subways, trolleys, light rail, not to mention that American innovation Uber that makes the other transportation redundant. OK, I can see if you live in a cramped little flat with no closets or windows it would be nice to have a pub that you can sit in all day.

Shame you didn't get to meet me - I take my tourist friends to places they'll never get to see, especially with regards to food - being able to eat like a king / queen for real bargain prices. One final thing - pubs - I don't drink much either, but sometimes I go to a pub just for coffee. Some pubs are great pick up places, but it usually happens when you least expect it. If you go out only with that in mind, chances are you'll go back home disappointed. Anyway, come back again soon.

I hear American's claim that there country wasn't built for railways when the opposite is true, most of America was built by the railroad, lots of US cities formed out of railroad stations. For example when she goes home to Georgia if she lands in Atlanta that city grew out of a railroad terminus. The US government under lobbying from the car and fossil fuel industry demolished America's rail infrastructure for roads and car parks, they also demolished the tram systems to the point that both barely exist in America.

1:44 U.S. towns weren't build for cars. Your towns existed before the car. You bulldozed it for cars. Because of regulations a opening business needs a huge parking lot. You provide that by buying a nearby building and tearing it down. That's why almost all U.S. downtowns are so damn ugly. Why should I end the rant here? Around the cities, you have the suburburbs. It's a desert of never ending sprawl what kills nature. No parks in between. Every land spot is developed. The U.S. overbuilds its nature for profit. You know it's not sustainable, but short-sighted profit is king. Suburbs are not sustainable over the long run. They get financed though the ongoing suburb sprawl. It legit is a Ponzi scheme.
