I have the 2017 Spark and I love it... Mine is a manual trans... if you live on dirt roads like I do you will find that it will probably handle better than any passenger car you ever had... I was surprised by its zippiness and power to climb steep grades. There's a lot to like and I haven't found much I didn't... the back seats might be a little cramped but I never had more than me and a passenger inside. If you're all about aesthetics and not about rugged dependability you might look elsewhere. I was looking at many small cars and I had this one and a Ford at the top, but it wasn't until I went to NAPA to get a part for my truck that I noticed 2 brand new Sparks sitting outside... I inquired about them inside and the guy at the counter said they are what they use to deliver parts and that they were mighty pretty impressed with the Spark. If the owner of a parts store bought 2 of them I think that says a lot :)
i bought a 2019 ls 5 speed manual. love it. low price, high quality. roll up windows. no buttons on the steering wheel. only 'econobox' left. blast to drive. made in korea (i think that's a positive).
@@candybarjones1422 yeah same here my credit score has gotten bad gotta save for used....I'm into the spark/smart/IQ/mirage..the fiesta a bit too smart and IQ are more reliable engines
2015 spark fast-forward 2022 7 years old 60,000 miles I've never had to replace an parts. I get 38 miles too gallon on highway drove 2 hours before ⛽ gage moved. I personally replaced my tires. I get regular oil changes n routine maintenance.
I clicked on this to find out some facts about the car, and for the first 10 minutes all I hear about is what the car Looks Like. Some of us buy machines (cars are machines) for what they do and how well they do it and how reliably they do it. If my main reason for buying something is What It Looks Like, I'll buy a painting or a sculpture. Or maybe a Fiat.
Seen April 7, 2019. I own this model in a 2018. Same color on Black. For Los Angeles California Traffic, it's great. No issues and for day to day errands, it's okay for my needs. 👍
I have a 2015 I bought new, for less than $10K, in the same Salsa Red as this one. Mine is a 5 speed manual, not a CVT. I wanted just a basic econobox, and it fits the bill, I get 45 mpg too. I live on a windy, country road and it handles like a sportscar and is fun to drive. My only complaint so far is the lack of spare tire, it has a spare tire well, but only comes with an air compressor and a can of fix-o-flat. I remedied this by getting an extra wheel and tire from a wrecking yard, full size not a space saver, yes it fit. And getting a small jack and lug wrench (which I've already had to use). He didn't mention much about the engine, up to 2016 model its a 84hp 1.2L, in 2016 it grew to a 1.4L with 98HP. Both engines use a timing chain, not a belt, so you don't need to worry about changing that. Yeah, it would be nice to have more power, but then it would use more gas, and I like the gas mileage. Its a cheap little basic car, not a Lexus, I don't expect it to last past 100K, but still consider it a great value for what it is.
I have a 2011 1,2 model - i love my car -had it for 8 years now. With 2 teens it also works fine - only problem is the back seat when your teen grows to 186 cm ;o) i find it amazing to load a tons of things in (even a washingmashine fits in )and it is easy to fix - i have no issues at all. Just love it
Probably the most "Dickish" review in history. This guy does realize he is reviewing a car that is probably valued at $7-8 K at the time of the interview? It's purpose is to get you here to there. I get about 42 miles per gallon in mixed driving in the summer, and it has a comfortable drive, and is super easy to park. I go 70-75 mph consistently on the major highways and don't notice any excessive road noise or turbulence from trucks. I have had it for 2 years and have done nothing except change the oil. Good, solid, basic transportation...... I would suggest that the author needs to review a couple of Mercede's or Lexus' for $50K or so if he seeking perfection.
I have the 2014 spark , I was going for the automatic version but no take off off power . The spark has a lot of room for being small . I needed a battery and only the Chevy dealer carries them . But over all I’m happy .
this battery fits fine as a replacement....bought it for $39 on black friday. www.walmart.com/ip/ValuePower-Lead-Acid-Automotive-Battery-Group-26R/152260102
I'm from the Netherlands and drive a 2012 (bi-fuel) spark. Mainly because I work at cycling distance from my home so I only use it once a week at most. However I would have preferred to buy a new Spark because I'm looking for a new car. However Chevrolet doesn't sell cars anymore in my country ☹️. It's such a fun car to drive and in its segment no European car comes close to the quality you get for that value. And it drives as comfortable as the bigger cars I had before...
They are selling me a 2014 spark EV 2LT with 66,748 miles for $8995. I test drove it today and the car its fun to drive..he charged it all the way up and it said 81max miles. Unfrotunally the screen was not responding very well so he said he will replace it..iam trading my 2009 touring Prius with 126000 miles and dealer will givenme $4000 for it. What do u guys think. I drove it for 10 miles one way freeway and city and it say energy used 2.4kwh don't know what this means..weather was 92 outside and had ac at 68. I drive it for 20 miles round trip and it waisted 19 miles I believed
I LOVE these cars. I have a 2015 1LT CVT that I have put 114k miles on sadly the CVT failed and I am getting it replaced now looking forward to my next 114k these cars are AMAZING
Hey Jason I have a 2014 with 42k miles CVT and it runs fine but did you ever experience any jerking when slowing down, it does take a few seconds for it to speed up when I floor it and then it goes smoothly, just looking for someone to see if they've had any issue's, thanks
I’m very scared of getting a car at all. No one will let me use their car to drive in so I’m getting this car off carvana. I’ve only driven a really old dirty car (my boyfriends) and my other friends fiat 500. I liked her fiat but I want more than a two door. I’m hoping this will be good because I just got my two jobs recently. I’m hoping this car will be a good car for my first car.
As bad as the gas version of the Spark is, the EV model is pretty awesome. The Spark EV has over 320 ft lbs of torque. It is really QUICK from 0-45mph.
ohh man just bought a 2015 for $1,500 as a work commuter, and this video seams to be really encouraging.I was thinking of opting on pretty little Fiat, but found out J-lo doesn't come with it. So now Im driving this death trap, and although it might not do 0-06 in under 3 seconds it come in clutch with the mileage! Bahaha
I know this is an old review but just came across it. It got my attention because your reviews on your personal Fiat are so good. I like both cars and wanted a 500 but apparently you have been most fortunate with yours as almostbnb every other review ends with a horror story which is a shame. I just think you spent too much time on appearance and not err nough on the actual driving of the car although you mentioned important quirks like the steering. Oh how I wish the 500s were more reliable.
Disney Fan my family rented on Avis last year and they tried to give us a 2013 Prius with 50k miles that was also really dirty. I had to tell the manager to change the car and they did give us a 2016 Sentra with 300 miles on the clock, but it is unbelievable that they still have old cars in their fleet.
I have always bought SUV's for around 30k. In 2017 I got a pre-owned 2015 Chevh Spark for only 8k with low mileage and I love it! It is great on gas and barley ever needs a repair and for once the money is in my pocket not the car company's!
I feel like this reveal was based on comparison of the spark and "your" fiat 500 and not the actual spark however the spark is such a great little car and a few things you mentioned like it kind of darting to the left ,the reflection of the dash and the poor audio system is true .
I love my Spark so much. It's a stick shift and so fun! My only complaint is the tires are small and I've had to replace them 2 times since 2015. I live in the land of potholes (LOL) and the tires have to be special ordered. Besides that- I love it.
Spark sucks manual transmissions bearings already out of it with just a hundred thousand miles on it. I've had numerous problems with the vehicle and wouldn't recommend anybody buy one
My friends have this car and it stinks. Very uncomfortable and chair is so stiff. Also, at 10:49 it said on the screen that is was 28degrees Fahrenheit. Really?
Never buy this car! my wife and I have a 2014 that has had all the maintenance necessary and even still have had to replace the motor and transmission and it only has 80,000 on it. It's junk!
@cryptocurrency1607 I also have a 2014, it's been wonderful for me! No issues and all I've had to do is oil changes and about to fo a tune up! Possibly running it too rough?
I've got a 15' with the 5 spd manual. Got it with 25k miles and now I'm at 50k+. Now the only issues I've had were a bad fuel injector (will be replacing the other 3 soon) and the thermostat (was just a bad design to begin with..replaced with a updated part). Other than that..mine has been very good to me. I change the oil every 3-4k miles and keep up on everything else. They aren't that bad..
Rolling 85K in my 2015, manual, electric green spark. Under $10k brand new equipped with Onstar, crash detect, turn by turn directions, and roadside assistance as long as I have it. So the neccesity if a spare tire hasnt been a big deal for me. The one complaint however is the hands free calling option was removed due to ATT no longer utilizing their 3G network and no option has been used to replace it. Had a recall on a faulty clutch plate but changed at the dealership without incident.. Love my SPECK (its the nick name given to my spark by friends)
"Would've been great to hear less about the looks and more about the engine, the charging, the mechanics. I couldn't care less if it's pretty." @SCORPION-FS7PG. AMEN BROTHER!
