I'm a studying abroad in Thailand right now and I take trips pretty much every weekend, I've found a microfiber towel SO helpful! They can fold up to literally the size of a washcloth so they take up very little space but are extra absorbent so they dry you off super fast :)

I hope you have the best time in South East Asia. My travel essential is a shammy towel....like those tiny super adsorbent towels. Saves so much space and is way better than paying to hire towels at hostels.
