These containers are actually really good at keeping liquids in their appropriate compartment, but I still use a little container for the sauce cause I'm paranoid 😂
As a teacher of five year olds thank you so much for giving your daughter a lunch that she enjoys. It is really hard when you are on lunch duty getting 120 5 and 6 year olds to eat their lunch before they go to play. You have obviously taught her about healthy eating (great that you grow food as well) which many kids don't get educated on. Salad items are seen as diet or rabbit food but those items are really yummy and we should not relate it to dieting. I had a gorgeous 5 year old girl who we discovered was dumping her lunch before school. When I found out I called or Mum in to talk about it and this precious girl was being called fat and ugly just because she was slightly heavier as were some other kids and they were in the healthy weight and height range. It wasn't a student in my class that teased her because I would of picked up on that. I suggested she choose a friend from either our class or another class to eat lunch inside with me and her. Lunch time then became a special time for Herr and made me stop and eat which I often didn't stop to do. Her Mum appreciated me giving up my break time and I told her you trust me to not just teach your little girl but to make sure I'm here for her while she is in my care just like you would do at home. You say that you worked in a school for 8 years and I suspect that is your calling. I hope you and your loved ones are doing well. Xx

They're what a lot of restaurants use and they are great. I use them for when I pack myself a lunch (usually a salad) & use 2 of them for the salad dressing. I buy mine from Sam's Club which last forever! So I only have to buy them twice a year!😉
My mom let me choose my lunches in highschool so I exclusively ate grandma's peanut butter cookies with a can of root beer for lunch for like 2 years 😂
I could never be picky with my food as a kid, my mom had a rule that if I didn't eat what was on the table then I didn't get to eat, I'd have to wait for the next meal time. Pretty happy about it now, it's easy for me to adapt to dishes from different cultures.
I have a 5 year old who is picky. If I asked him what he wants, he’ll list out stuff with no veggies. I can’t have him pick out his entire lunch or he’ll never be exposed to new foods. This lunch looks good though. I would eat that!
Yes. I volunteered at my daughter's school and chose lunch time. Whewwww... a huge amount of waste from those bringing their lunch in grades K-2nd. PARENTS, please ask or know what they like, because it forces teachers to spend their own money to keep snacks in the classroom, because they are hungry. I had my daughter bring back in her lunch bag what she didn't eat. It helped me know what she liked, didn't like, or if I needed to pack more of an item.
I bought bento boxes for my lids lunches, they make their own. Usually by the second week of school they are asking to eat school lunches, but they love their bento. They make mac and cheese, hot pockets, meatball subs, nachos, seaweed wraps, grilled cheese and tomato soup, etc.
I pack my sons lunch with an ice pack on top and bottom so if he doesn’t have time to finish he can finish it after school. Some days he has a hard time not socializing which is understandable! I also pack what he wants so no food waste.
Back in 90s packed similar things with a pint of milk and got hassled by multiple teachers. Was told I was making him stand out. Son took to eating in office to get away lunch monitor teachers! He became homeschooled the next year. Never settle to inferior
I had a lunch bag but no lunch box. So when i used to pack my own lunch *parents wouldnt ever make my lunch or my brothers* the amount of times my yogurt would explode or my brothers yogurt used tp explode. It was so annoying but was better result than warm yogurt lmao kids are lucky these days!
My mom gets mad at me when I ask my son what he wants to eat… I don’t understand why controlling what your kids do is so important to some people. I like to give my son a variety of foods and he only eats what he likes, so I’d rather give him the meal he wants and add a sprinkle of variety with it and he enjoys that much more than being forced to eat a food you hate,
Also if I ever needed soy sauce to go save the soy sauce when you order Chinese food. I have never in my life needed the amount of free sauce they just add to the bag
My auntie Jackie used to cook her 5 kids at the time 1 dinner (this shit would be some wild made up shit that she thought would be great) and if they didn’t eat it, they simply did not eat. Now my mum on the other hand was not like her sister, she did what you do. She would rather cook and have us eat than cook and have us starve
I think us parents like the bento boxes more than the kids do. My bonus kids have them and absolutely hate them but they cost $30 so we still use them.
I'm always amazed when I seen sea food and peanuts in lunches in the U.S. In Canada there's like a law or policy and there is no sea food or nuts allowed on lunches lol.
It's different in every district here. Not even all of the same state have the same laws. When my sister was in school and my cousins son, they all had STRICT no nut policies. Now at both schools my own kids have been to, my daughter has been the one to have a child with an allergy in her class while my son didnt have to abide to any restrictions. I'm the parent though that never ever sent anything with nuts with either child after being told bc they share playground equipment and this year they all use the same lunch room as well. I have no idea how they get around not restricting the entire school from the allergens. Kids are so handsy and dont think about cross contamination
Those kids should be grateful and not being disrespectful and go to lunch away the cafeteria ladies orTheir parents work so hard every day on their lunches
I work at a school and I CAN NOT believe how much food goes to waste. I mean whole apples, bags of chips, lunch Ables,sandwiches,chips, salads all UNOPENED. It’s crazy
I feel like most parents don’t ask what they want cuz the kids just ask for junk food but like with this kid they didn’t just ask for junk food cuz they’ve probably been eating tasty healthy food there whole life so they like it
I would love that to except i’m pescatarian and lactose intolerant so I would replace the beef jerky with a granola bar and just take out the mozzarella cheese
It’s no good if you pack a lunch they don’t want because they’ll be hungry and the food will get wasted. But broaden their food tastes while their young!
