I might be be miss remembering but wasn't there no way to view the future cards? So its not even a math thing, you just have to know what modifiers are coming up in the next cards, so to do it without the guides would literally take twice as long. Like oh, this time there are no +Drama cards outside of the first two, oh this one doesnt have any +Excitement cards near the end so you have to put high excitement early or you just lose.

BOX ITS 1 + 5, HOW TF DID YOU NEED A GUIDE? Also the only thing that was good about that event was cleaning the thing and getting that nice animation. Sad it doesn't last long but it's still nice.
They should have wrapped up Aventurine and how he was rescued by Argenti that could have been done with a cut scene instead of the talent show with Firefly. Also Boothill had a much more interesting story they could have done for his banner but instead all we got was a bunch of boring activities. So yeah… they did our cowboy dirty. The best thing was Galactic Baseballer
@@TopTOBiiiii hmm I wouldn’t say powercreep he is definitely more fun I love his battle voice lines and the Ult with the enemy’s portrait on the poster 😂. He is insane and simple to use and deletes the boss within 1-3 turns… but definitely robbed of his promotional. air time and relics. Also apparently there’s an error with his Superbreak with HMC that makes him do 30% less damage? I haven’t noticed but I run mine with Ruan Mei & Bronya.

I actually liked the Clockie Stories, but I believe they should have been told through gameplay, maybe add some better visuals to them, because they are great, a good luck into Penacony's past and the history of Hanu and Mikhail, but I understand not everyone will be interested in reading that much, even I had problems reading and caring for it at times.
In the dreamjoy memoir event. It was good for me, I had to actually use at least 1%~5% of my brain to calculate and think about which one to decrease and to increase.I didn't need guide for it. It was all simple arithmetic, at least there wasn't division.
I truly dont understand what is supposed to be difficult about it, I'm honestly a giant idiot, and i didn't need to put any effort into it, it was just another event for me
the thing with aventurine in 2.1 is his story was finished with an at the time good ending. hsr is a gacha game where hoyo try to sell you chr through the story. aventurine is a very well written character but hes story is also finished for the time being. adding him to 2.2 wouldnt see the story experience much change. this was an issue i had with genshin where characters would pop up during story quests for no apparent reason. hsr honestly handled aventurine really well with a very good quest and making him step down to make room for other characters and promising future stories in perhaps pier point.
Honestly, I disagree Aventurine's story in 2.1 is completely disconnected and irrelevant to the rest of the story. And it's issues are something that could have been avoided if the story bothered to just continue where 2.0 left off and didn't go off on a tangent. For instance, 2.0 set up the idea of Aventurine working with the AE crew, but 2.1 immediately dropped that plot point in favor of having him work with Ratio for no reason. It makes matters worse that you gained nothing from having him do this, and him working with Ratio just resulted in the game wasting your time with his section as he was too disconnected from the plot to move anything forward. Even his "death" wound up being unimportant and achieving nothing as it was overwritten by an event, and it's Ena's actions that achieved the end he desired as well a him putting the transmitter on the Trailblazer back in 2.0. They couldn't add him in 2.2 because 2.1 wrote him into a corner, and quite a few things 2.1 flat out wasn't true.

The problem that hoyo has been facing between genshin and star rail is the over reliance on telling us a characters entire backstory and damn near everything possible to make people feel something for these characters. Using aventurine and putting him next to furina both of the characters were unliked for their immediate interaction on release and the community immediately changed their tune because of sad boi/girl past. Each section for them primarily made them and only them take center stage as they dump everything about them onto the player in hopes of getting you to care. All while move character either screamed to the heavens as they broke down like furina or aventurine basically having a conversation with himself for most of the non ratio sections. Both sections are honestly lazy at trying to get you invested because it relies on tragedy = well written. Which fails because if you don’t care about the character then you’re probably not gonna care too much once the story is done and you’re left with nothing but wasted time. They don’t do much with these characters with actions and anything but rely on vomiting everything in hopes you like them
@@amari7782 It was more than that, I'd have to say that almost everything Aventurine says about anyone in 2.1 wound up bieng wrong. The replica of the Golden Hour that he claims shows Sunday's need for control? that was just for city planning. The family being in disarray? It was literally just Gopherwood controlling everyone as a follower of Ena. Death being impossible in the dream world? He should have known from the IPC's history that that really wasn't the case. Heck one of the characters ends up in the dream reef and reveals all you need to get there is to just close your eyes.
@@amari7782 Funnily enough Granblue Fantasy actually solved this problem a while back too. You simply just don't tell the character's full story the first time you meet them in the story event. You instead save that for their future appearances and banner rerun. Genshin cracked this code a while back with Xiao, and Kazuha.

I’m gonna be honest the Sunday fight was the most generic power of friendship bs they could’ve possibly cooked up. Sunday as an antagonist is straight garbage and the Trail Blazers speech is the most unearned shit I’ve seen because they’ve only gone on at this point 2 trips 1 of which they got 0 character development for so them making that speech and the overall vibe felt like a final boss fight but with no weight

I agree with most of the points in this video about the update tbh. Story was good, but events were kinda mixed. Some things that could have made the update’s main story quest better was if we got to meet up again with Aventurine on the other side of the dream death, and maybe we could have gotten him to join up in some of the conflicts between us and Sunday. I think it would’ve added some interesting nuance to the story, especially since we’d see him working with an intergalactic criminal, firefly. Boothill also was kinda just shoehorned in as a plot device with the galaxy ranger summoning thing. As for events, I completely agree that the movie event suuucked. A lot. I don’t understand how anyone would find that event fun. It wasn’t necessarily hard, but just tedious. Like a chore you really don’t wanna do. Boothill event feels like a copout in terms of learning about him, since I’m sure it had boothill lore in it,but it was just hidden behind an event that is just free rewards. Galactic Baseballer was great tho. Completely understand why it isn’t permanent, cuz that kind of non struggle is gonna get boring after some time, since there were some op strats that trivialized the event. As for the new playable characters this update. Solid. Pretty good. Robin is on my rerun list for sure, cuz I like follow ups, and boothill is a pretty fun character, but I agree that Aoe is more fun, which is why I’m going for Firefly.
While I do agree, I feel like their are some Mis-information: 1. When did firefly work with aventurine? (Unless your talking about getting out of the dream, in which case, that would’ve helped.) 2. The main reason why we couldn’t get to aventurine, was because everyone was stuck in the dream, and couldn’t get out. (That’s the point of the switch ending we got at the end of 2.2) We couldn’t interact with him, since he already got out, and any interaction would’ve brough him back into it. And either way, the plan that everyone had was better than anything aventurine could’ve done; shaking the dreamscape by making the people itself wake was the only way to really get everyone out, aventurine being included does just about nothing to help with that. While I do agree with boothill’s shoe-horned feeling with this story quest, he was kinda needed to explain a couple of things, like Acheron being a fraud, what happened to one of the old crew members, and what exactly a galaxy ranger is, especially with Acheron being the quiet one, and only really info dumping to welt, who would understand, since Izumo is basically a dark timeline HI3. 3. While I do agree the events were kinda bad, a lot of the budget probably went into the galactic base baller arcade game, while the rest was to fill in event time. I get wanting to do more, and having more fun events, but I think it’s probably good that they put in some filler events, to allow newer players to catch up, while also giving older players some time to grind, and focus on building. (I’m alr TL 70, so I’m fine, but others aren’t so they need to focus on lvling first.) Movie event I personally didn’t get, but people did, being that it apparently told the story of the watchmaker, (I didn’t read it.) with both that, and boothill’s being expo-dumps, which I would rather take with jades, instead of long info-dumps from normal chrs. While I do agree on some of your points, some of it just kinda don’t apply. What I feel like we should be saying, is more like contextualization; they needed to explaining why firefly left for so long, and why certain things had to happen more instead of leaving it to interpretation, and why they can’t do more stuff. (Treat the trailblazer more like a dumbass.) The story needed more impact on certain things, more reactions and interactions, since I understand most of the story, and I get what happened, but some/most don’t, since most arn’t lore-seekers. If we do this however, it also kinda just becoming like GI, where the traveler is treated like a dumbass who has to be told everything. It’s 2nd level storywriting, where action, inaction, and everyone is treated as if they know the info already, and if not, the world would explain why. It’s a mix of pros and cons, which while good, Shaoji and the rest of the storyline-crafters need to explain better for casuals, like tingyun’s “death.” (And how that was our first bait switch.) Really it depends on perspective, and I need to reiterate, I do agree with some of your points, like some events kinda being “bad” and the story being “bad” it it’s more like the narrative and point of these things arn’t being explained well, and because of that, their are so many misconceptions.
@@heilamwether8911 1. Me mentioning Aventurine and Firefly working together is a “what if” scenario that I thought up on the spot, not something I think actually happened. Just felt that there was miscommunication regarding that. 2. I do get the why for aventurine not being present for the last stretch of the story, but at the same time, it did feel a little like “oh, we’re done with the Aventurine segment” and then just forgot about him till the end of the story where we see boothill confront aventurine about oswaldo schneider. Aventurine is a cool character, and I seriously hope, but partly doubt, that we see him in the next update’s story 3. I don’t think this update’s story was “bad”. I even state at the beginning of my comment that I thought it was good. One of my favorite things about it, is how they handled Sunday. It’s a good finale to penacony. 4. I did read some of the movie event story, and I agree that it was definitely a way to tell the watchmaker’s backstory, BUT I also think that it could have been presented in a better format than a tedious math minigame.
@@heilamwether8911the problem with boothill is that while you’re right in him adding a lot of context none of it was really all that necessary in the grand scheme because Acheron being a fraud is kinda answered throughout the story so at best you can shove all the story related to that in an side event and the crew member was also kinda built up to throughout acherons story and can again just be moved to a boothill exclusive side story

I think I would enjoy the clockie event more if the stories were about existing playable or important characters. Like how cosmodyssey events give us bits about characters so hitting the event tile is interesting. I really don't care much about clockie's story so doing that event become so much of a chore.
I guess I'm the only person alive who actually liked the Clocky event from a lore standpoint. It revealed pretty much the purpose of every character, which is huge seeing how the cartoon's purpose is to retell the actual background story of Penacony through hidden messages and analogies, so they don't piss off the Families. Don't get me wrong though, the gameplay itself was bad and I agree with Box2's views in that point, removing Acheron's sword slash included.

Lineup showcases are honestly pretty pointless, since nearly every friend I have is just Acheron spamming. Makes it worthless to those who don't have Acheron.
Topaz +box = easy treasure box. However only! Treasure box, no birds, no clockie things to fill up the progress bar. Totally Unsatisfied . And i Bet! The next patches will be a another treasure hunter to finish Penacony Easly.
tbh the mini stories aren't that bad, if you read them maybe you enjoy them if you read the event stories , however I do agree they are kinda boring even if you read the stories
