Best things to buy in Canada if you are poor: -noodles/pasta, not rice (pasta is cheaper) -buy bananas and apples (only buy strawberries/blueberries if on sale/for a treat) -skip grapes, they are very expensive -eggs, milk, and tomatoes are okay priced. -veggies are cheap rn, not so much fruit -between frozen fruit and veggies, buy frozen veggies, much cheaper. (Peas, corn) -only buy frozen pizzas on sale -meat and cheese in Canada are the takers, so shop wisely. Depending on the store I can find cheap cheese. Usually for meats I eat only 2x a week unless I buy ground beef or hot dogs and have extra leftovers for a 3rd day. -expensive spagetti sauce is worth it imo because they have healthier ingredients -juice, I buy the shelf one and then drink half water/half juice. Much cheaper. -yogurt I buy on sale. -deli meats can be cheap (sandwich ham, turkey, etc) -don't buy sushi, expensive -if you are from another country and want to cook a homemade dish with ALL the ingredients, expect it to be expensive -ramen and kraft dinner are your friend when poor -canned beans, tomatoes and soups are okay priced. Rice, meat, and cheese are the most expensive.

I have watched many of her videos and followed her in Instagram as well. But I don’t know if she receives 100s of dms or is it she considers herself a celebrity ,she will not reply to your dms where you have asked about some genuine information. Some Indian bloggers are so humble. They make sure to reply and respond. Unfollowing her and not watching her videos!! Bye!

As a family of 3, we spend around 300-400/month on groceries. However, a thing that I do differently is going to local farmers' markets and getting fresh fruits and veggies from there. They are locally grown, hence are sustainable and support farmers. Besides, they are cheaper or comparable to the ones in the grocery stores. Exploring the nearest farmers' market could be a good video idea too, if you'd like. They are fun, cultural and have an earthy vibe!

$150 is fair enough. Everything is super expensive now a days here in Canada. I like the way you shop around for the best because at last health is most important :)

52 weeks per year x $50= $2,600 52 weeks per year x $100= $5,200 52 weeks per year x $150= $7,800 1 year (52 weeks) x $200= $10,400 Canada is expensive.

We are a family of 5 and spend somewhere around $250-$300/wk. We believe that we work hard and atleast we should get to enjoy the foods we want. We buy alot of fruits, veggies, chicken and sea food. Mostly we eat at home, eat out once a week, or may b twice if it's been busy week.

It is always better to spend money on food that are good for you. If your groceries include things like Greek yogurt, almond butter etc, it means you are prioritizing your health but also if you are eating out more than usual, try to take that mindset over there as well. Order healthier option as it will not only make sure your are consistent with your health, but will reduce the cravings for food that are not good for your body.

I only moved to Toronto about a year ago and I am shocked with food prices and poor quality of produce, fish and meat. I live alone and I spend around 600-700$ per month on food. I probably used to spend only a half of it when I was living in Prague, Czech Republic. Love your videos and you're clearly better at budgeting than I am.
@lanaatkins3872
@lanaatkins3872 Год назад
Where are you shopping the most? Some stores you are going to pay a bigger price tag for other reasons that people are not aware of, and the produce is NOT much different at other stores even though people think it is. It's all about doing your research, and also planning a little better, but it seems like people don't want to prioritize that. I do agree with the fact that the fish and meat is not as great quality. I tend to go to farmers directly and get my meat if I can.

@PEEKAPOO when I first came to Canada, I could relate to you. But the more time has passed, it feels like the videos are for a certain group of people and not for everyone. Because I no longer can connect to them. Just for example, most of the people I know do a mix of stores for their weekly groceries. Of course there is a price increase but we have several apps that show us the deals. This video did not make any sense to me. Please know that there is no hate here but maybe I cannot connect to u any more. Peace!❤

Farm boy is basically the most expensive thing to do grocery in Canada you won’t see any desi’s making groceries here. The reason more organic food and is out of pockets. Asian families normally do food basics wallmart and fresco in Canada 🇨🇦 dollarama is the basic’s and ppl can’t survive without it. Asli kahani ye hai yaha ki

As soon as I saw you at FarmBoy I thought “this is going to be expensive” but their stuff is totally worth it if you have the money. For any non-Canadian out there, this is not ridiculous. Our grocery prices are stupidly high compared to most American prices. She could get her produce and meat for less, but she chooses to spend a bit more for quality and taste and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that if she can afford it.

I spend about $1000/month on food for a family of 5 adults. I also shop like you, at higher end and lower end stores. I feel a monthly budget is more practical to judge how much one spends than a weekly one, because many items like mayonnaise, frozen meats, spices, etc will last for over a month.

Why get jealous guys? Vert typical like Indians and Pakistanis! It's their money let them spend on whatever they want. Probably they can afford going to expensive grocery stores, stop telling them to go somewhere that is affordable, clearly they already know they have been in Canada for a while now. Stop judging! People have different taste, some like spending on groceries some on clothes some on makeup, it's not our problem they are not asking for it.
