Quite like those Cha Dra Mue teas; you can get them in sachets and fill it with hot water and its a delicious tea. I'm cheap I live up country and order everything on Lazada :) But I lived in Bangkok in a condo/several houses for 10 years or so, so have been there done that. Tea hand brand!

I just followed your channel a few weeks ago. I am from Myanmar, currently in Yangon. I did my MA in CU, Bangkok. Bkk is like my second home, just stopped over for a few days last month when I cam back from Copenhagen. But, I am coming again next month, for Xmas and new year holiday.

I’ve eaten at that 永和豆漿 before. It’s certainly not cheap for me, but it’s a good place to find some authentic Chinese / Taiwanese food. From what I know, the restaurant is a stand alone and not affiliated with the Taiwanese brand. Chong Nonsi / St Louis are both close to where I stayed with…… in Silom. Their soup buns are their staple, as well as their beef noodles (I’d say the Thai is still better). Also if you’re into something more northern style you can have their spring onion pancake (蔥油餅). They’re also one of the few places where you can get some vegetables, not always easy to do in Thailand. I’ve been there several times and I’ve seen Chinese speaking customers there. Actually, right beside it (or very close to it) there is a mainland chain called 沙縣小吃. They basically serve a variety of Chinese dishes mainly Fujian style (that’s where 沙縣 is), but also a variety of stuff from across China. Cheaper too. Their wontons and some of their noodles is decent. I also see you had spicy Sichuanese hotpot. Can I say I’m proud of you? 😊 Hope the spice level wasn’t too bad for you. It’s a different kind of spice, spicy and numb vs the spicy and sour of Thai. All of this, what you featured, is retracing my footsteps. TBH the view up King Power is overrated lol. But I do remember the first time going up there, there was this transparent glass where you could see below and that scared me a bit. If you get off at St Louis (take the exit with a 7-11) and go into the alley where the British embassy is (and to where I lived), to the right side of the road there is a restaurant called Apollo Duck owned by Thai-Chinese. But all of their food is Hong Kong style, lots of roasted stuff that you would find in Hong Kong. If you keep walking down the alley (towards Assumption Elementary School), there’s more food and an ice cream place that’s semi-famous for his vanilla ice cream. I took a photo of the place and the owner, he moved away from the camera because he didn’t want to be seen. The reason why the BTS is fairly expensive is because it’s a mostly privately owned company. Unlike in some other places where their public transportation systems are entirely government owned / subsidized. The MRT I believe is partially or fully government owned and therefore cheaper.
