Yes to making these videos monthly! I do agree that it can be tricky sharing that you're on a budget when you're out with others but if I have to I'll say it. We all have so many expenses and obligations, having to spend more because you're out with friends shouldn't be an extra pressure. Getting only what you want and cutting out the alcohol are definitely good ideas when you're on a budget. Then again I never drink so that has saved me so much money all these years 😅

You are SO brave sharing your financial journey Zoe 🌿✨ as a viewer of many years I can see your mindset change and your positive shift. Everyone spends money but at least when you do you know it’s not an every day occurrence and you cherish moments / things you buy, whereas others don’t give it a second thought. I used to go overboard on spending and I didn’t really even realize it. These last two months I have been doing a zero based budget and it has relieved a lot of stress. Now I know where all my money is going and I know how much I have left to spend. I am also planning for a wedding, so a budget definitely helps. Adulting is hard, but budgeting can make it a lot easier 😂 Great video btw!

Great video! I have a used car which means every few months I drop nearly $1000 on repairs. What's helped is putting aside the money for these types of things since it's anticipated. It still stings when I pay the bill but easier to come back to the abundance mindset, it hurts a little less knowing you budgeted for it! Love seeing the detailed series - I agree with the others lets make this a series!

Hey Zoe, I thought you should know this: People who have grinded and worked their way to become financially successful will all probably tell you that it's not a problem if you let others know you don't want to spend money. I have also experienced some similar, anxiety inducing situations as you when money was involved-and I concerned myself with trying to impress people. But, now that I have become successful myself, if anyone told me that they didn't want to spend as much, I would have respect for that person because they stood up for themselves. What you're doing is taking action to become financially successful. That is the kind of grit it takes to become rich. Don't feel bad or let anyone make you feel bad about that. You know you want that Gucci bag! As a sidenote, something strange happens as you actually become wealthier. All those material desires and thoughts you had, associated with wealth, will slowly fade away. The richer you become, the less you care about spending money on things that reflect outwardly. You will want to treat yourself, but you will know that it's for you and not because someone will respect you more because of it.

Ah it varies so much... some people pay less than $1,000 for a one bedroom, and some pay up to $1,800+ it depends on the area, how long you've lived in the place, etc. I would say what I pay for my half of a one bedroom is pretty good/average

Not going to lie, I cringe when you talk about being the friend that doesn’t want to split a bill. You’re friends don’t have unlimited wealth either but they are investing in the experience with you. I think it’s rude to order your own, in my opinion anyway
@RosaSukkerspinn9
@RosaSukkerspinn9 Год назад
I never split the bill with my friends either. And my friends have the same mindset.
@aga.toloczko
@aga.toloczko Год назад
And that’s exactly why I’m stressing when not wanting to split the bill… because there will always be somebody who will “cringe” or think “it’s against the friendship”… 😢 sorry but I’m all about empathising with people and trying to understand and not judge, if sb wants to order a cheaper meal there is a reason behind that.. it’s already slightly sad for that person because who wouldn’t like to order the whole menu and just chill?! But for some reason that person decided that she/he cannot do it and needs to cut of that expense a bit and order sth smaller than usual.. and as Zoe said going out with a group of people can really be a source of stress for many exactly because of the economics of it all.. so why to add up to this stress by “cringing” on that person (especially on our FRIEND!)? Sorry but for me that’s way worse of a un-friendly attitude than actually “un-friendly” asking to pay apart.. as I was and still am (obviously, right?😅) a person who wants to pay apart (mainly because I’m a no drinker) I just want to show you the other side of things and believe me, it’s not easy to ask to not split or pay apart, I wish sb just tell me in that moment: oh of course, just do it! We are all friends here and everyone should do what feels the most comfortable for them. There’s no need to feel bad on a fun night out with friends, come on! It’s all about sharing positive vibes and creating a safe space for your friends
@aga.toloczko
@aga.toloczko Год назад
PLUS: a very important thing! You never know the reasons behind someone asking for that.. I personally don’t want to split the bill including alcohol because I’m an abstinent and that comes from of a strong personal belief (and a lot of family trauma) and I just don’t feel like paying for nobody’s alcohol never ever.. but obviously I will not say it to let’s say my coworkers or not-so-close friends when going out, I will just say: hey guys, as I was not ordering drinks I would appreciate if I could pay my bill apart before splitting I think this is also a valid argument in this whole going out discussion and about why you should never judge/cringe like that (right, @ZoePritchard ?)
@ZoePritchard
@ZoePritchard Год назад
I completely disagree… i have no problem splitting the bill with friends in a modest restaurant/for a special occasion. However, in Montreal there is this culture of going to REALLY expensive restaurants, ordering bottles of wine and a whole tasting menu. If everyone else at the table is comfortable participating in that (whether they are made of money or not) but I am not comfortable with that, why participate? You can still see friends and participate in a way that fits your budget. With close friends, if you were all in the same “not made of money boat”, you probably would not choose those expensive restaurants. Everyone wants to spend their money differently and I don’t think we need to make ourselves uncomfortable because our friends prefer to spend their money going out
@ZoePritchard
