I really enjoy how realistic and practical you are. You are a very relatable RU-vidr with your spending and how you live your every day life. Sometimes I watch RU-vidrs and I find them completely unrelatable with their lifestyles and it seems like as if they are superior to me. Which I know they are not trying (hopefully not) to come across that way. I’ve been supporting you since your junior year in HS and love how you have grown. Ugh please make a podcast!! Its really interesting to see how different youtubers spend their money. Like Alisha Marie and Remi spend $250 on one training session with a personal trainer and thats already more than what you spend in one week. So compared to other "influencers" you're budgeting really well for living in a major city!

Loved this! It made me interested to calculate mine- $103.64! It all seems like a lot of money when you add it up, but we work to enjoy ourselves. It’s your hard earned money and you (and I) deserve to spend it however you like! I read something that said “we work a 9-5 job to afford a place we never get to spend time in” so I think it’s those little fees throughout the day/random and extra date nights that make your hard earned cash worth it!

I live in NYC. I spend 127 for the unlimited metro card in the winter. But in the warmer seasons I use my bike a lot so I spend like 80 on the subway. Utilities come at 80 a month usually for me, and my phone plan is 80. I spend less on groceries because I mainly eat vegan. So it’s probably more like 40-70 for me a week.

now this is relatable and totally how a normal person spends there money. i was livid watching lexis videos and how careless she was about her money! spending 50 on an uber she really couldnt wait on the train a bit longer. i love how you spend your money i am the same way its not hard to go a day not spending money and kind of having a limit and meal prep. love your videos

Great job Michelle! I live in NYC and honestly this is not bad, it’s so easy to spend money here if you’re not careful. Yesterday I went to a matcha place with a friend that wanted to try this high end matcha and it was $6! Delicious but SO expensive. Thankfully there’s also a lot of cheap and free things that make it more affordable, specially in the warmer months.

I think this may be the only thing I don't miss about working in the city. I spent a lot more money with I worked on Wall Street. Now I intentionally make my coffee at home, pack my breakfast and lunch, and maybe treat myself to buying breakfast on Fridays. Great VLOG! Very interesting.

I think it would have been insightful to also include your weekly expense for rent, utilities, subway pass, etc. because even though you're not physically shelling out the money at the moment, it is something to consider in your overall weekly spending! This is actually not bad at all. I spend a little less per week, but also have expenses most people in NY don't have like car payment and car insurance. Which even with subway / uber fees, still not as much as car payment / insurance / gas. So I think this is completely reasonable. thanks for sharing!

Honestly for living in Manhattan this isn't bad. Plus you're very mindful with how you spend your money and when you do buy something that is not normal for you like your $10 soup (lol) you have a good reason for doing it. I liked the style of this video of how it was a sit down!

They sell cold brew (both mix and ready to drink) at Trader Joe's! They also sell oat milk. :) I used to go to coffee shops all the time, but I bought a Nespresso machine and, even though the pods are pricey, it's still cheaper than going out every day.

Drinks. Drinks. Drinks. That’s literally 95% of my spending. In NYC if you go out drinks are Atleast 12 dollars, you have a couple, get food, Uber’s, trains. Going out is so much money in NYC. But it’s 100% worth it. You can’t buy the experiences you would get in NYC in small towns.

If you can boil water, you can make coffee. At home. Cheap. And good coffee too. A kettle and a French press, you're set for coffee. Invest in a pressure cooker. Like an instant pot. Easy cooking and pretty fast. Set it and forget it. Many double as a slow cooker. Dump your food in the cooker before going to work. When you get home, it's ready to eat. But, as long as you're able to make ends meet, you're doing okay.

Lol this has just made me realize exactly how frugal I am. And I live in a more expensive mid-sized city and walk and take the bus basically everywhere like people in New York do, but I always make my coffee in the morning, and have stuff with me so I’m prepared. A travel mug and tea bags, snacks, etc. And I meal prep my lunches and dinners, make a lot of food from scratch. I kind of just considered it normal, but I guess not.

I thought you did pretty well. I spend so much on miscellaneous and live in Nashville. I think living in a city makes it harder. I spent $34 on an Uber and went two miles...🙄. I hated it but late at night walking wasn’t an option. Lol. Loved this video!

Hi Michelle I just started watching your channel. My daughter lives in Manhattan so I find this interesting. I love cold brew coffee as well and I was going to make a suggestion. Starbucks makes cold brew packets. You will probably find them more cost effective when you visit Texas. You could stock up and bring them home. One packet makes a gallon and I keep it in my fridge. If you get your favorite store creamer and ad it. It tastes just like the fancy stuff. Not sure what the oatmeal? Additive is like because I never had my coffee that way. Do you actually put oats in the coffee? Sorry I’m older and maybe I didn’t hear that right. Hahaha
