I'm probably going to make people mad but I don't think we can argue Japan is cheaper than the US when the conversation rate is ¥1 = $0.0066 USD. Obviously when converting, it'll be cheaper. Surprised Miki said the very short train ride was expensive.

When comparing prices, you need to convert to a common currency. Like, convert all purchases in Japan to US dollar.

See to me, that was expensive. I take the bus daily in Santa Monica, CA and our bus is $1.25 for the whole route. Free transfers for two hours if you get off and come back. We’re one of the lowest in the US though.

Lol i feed my son by chopsticks as well sometimes. Easier to get food in their mouth instead of all over their face. Kids are hard physically, mentally and emotionally. I'm lucky that my in laws look after him one day a week and we are able to access child care so that we can work fulltime.

Japan has really changed though. Due to poor leadership (government and corporate), Japan is not nearly as rich as it once was. Still Japan has many areas in which it is more appealing than the US.
