I've recently started taking my money/debt journey more seriously and I felt like I was doing something wrong because I'm already 26. But you live and you learn. Yes keep it real! We only had cash funds to honeymoon or home renovations for our "wedding registry". But I will say it is sometimes surprising seeing how much people will gift, some people I have known for years gave smaller amounts than I thought and others I barely knew gave more than I thought. So... go in with an open mind of not necessarily counting on the monetary gifts to recoup expenses because for a 160 person wedding we probably got 1/3 of what I spent back in gifts and a big chunk of that came from my family. At the end of the day, I'm glad we did not go into debt and that everyone had fun and appreciated the details I put into the wedding

I think I just need to watch one video a day of yours even if I repeat, this way I get motivated all over again. Just a little worn down thinking of all the work I feel I have to do to get a budget set up and my debt under control.. especially after a full day of work. Whenever I get invited to a wedding my family always give money as a wedding gift instead of a gift registries. They could use that money and pay to the wedding or use for their honeymoon or however they want.

I remember when my credit score was in the 300’s years ago 😖 now it’s in the high 700’s. I was shit with money years ago and would ignore bills and only paid the smallest minimum. I changed my view of money in 2019 when I got a new job and better pay. I paid off all my cards, paid off my car, have some savings, etc. it’s a great feeling 😀🥹
