I’m reviewing and pen testing my current bullet journal - the Nuuna Graphic L"PRET-a-Ecrire" Smooth Bonded Leather Notebook with some of my go-to pens, markers, and other stationery to see how they hold up! I’ve been in this journal since the beginning of 2020 and wanted to share my thoughts, the pros & cons, and some of the modifications I’ve made to the bujo to make it work for me. The Nuuna notebook is probably my favourite ever for bullet journalling, in large part _because_ of the tiny dot spacing! I love the smaller grid for my tiny handwriting, and I love that the dots themselves are very small and light. I've not found myself missing the pocket not the elastic - I've been using paper clips or staples to hold random papers I chuck in, and somehow the lack of a closure hasn't been an issue at all. I've not had any pen or marker issues, but I haven't tried any watercolors or acrylics yet - that'll be a 2021 thing, probably! Maybe some gouache would be fun, too...

That's super great feedback! I thought it would work so much better for someone with smaller handwriting for sure! Acrylics would probably be fine, but I would say use very little water if you're going to try watercolor in there. I've gotten away with a little bit, but not too much. Good luck! :)

I love the review after a few months as most reviews are more of an unboxing/pen test type but not a "I used this journal every day for months and here are my thoughts" :)

Ah, thank you - Exactly! :) - I feel a lot different about just about anything after using it for awhile. Just have a better scope of pros and cons at that point.

Thank you for the review! I have a Rhodia softcover notebook that I’ve almost filled and am gonna replace with the rhodia goalbook, but I’m loving the idea of getting the Nuuna for more longform journaling/note taking. Also, I’m super curious what you use for the monthly tabs on the side of your bujo?

Not a problem! Thank YOU for checking it out. :) I love how bright the Rhodia notebooks are and that there are some preprinted spreads inside - looks super helpful. Let me know how it works for you for sure! I think the Nuuna would be great for longform journaling! The tabs are Avery Ultra Tabs (I can't believe I didn't even mention those, haha!), but they hold up super well considering how I just toss my journal in my purse.

I use a Leuchtturm 1917 for the second time now and i like it. Would buy it again but would also try something different next time:)

Oh that's awesome. How do you like it? I've heard that the pages are pretty thin and are prone to bleeding and ghosing, but what's your experience with those?

Yes that‘s true 😅 the pages are very thin (80). I never used warercolours in it so i dont know how that works. I always use the crayola supertips and there is definitely ghosting but i never had bleeding. I dont mind that much about ghosting🤷🏻‍♀️

Try Minimalism Art Premium. It is also 120gsm and has 234 pages...but has the 5mm dot spacing. I use a B5 and am so happy i will definitely get a whole year in

It sounded so good, but the 'Mini Dots', uh, nothing for me. I tried something like this with another Journal before. But the Size and the Black and White at the sides of the pages, lovely.

I got you! Well kinda - I counted dots during this time and not spaces (noob times) 🫠 - it’s 41 dots across and 57 dots vertically.

@@julia-here so 56 boxes x 39 boxes? You are a hero! I have zoomed in on so many picture and actually counted the same! You have saved me so much time! Off to make a grid spacing guide that I can paste in when my journal arrives
