What I Want to See In Coral Island! 💭🤞

Coral Island is a super fun, cozy farming simulation game and even though you CAN already play it (and you should!).. content is still being added in with the next 1.1 update coming in the near future! In this video I'm going over some of the things I hope to see added into the game in the future, both new things and tweaks to things we already have.

I really want a pet update. I'd love to be able to walk my dog, or maybe they could add something like Sandrock where your pet can leave the farm and collect resources for you.

Exactly! And if the resources they bring home could have a chance to drop something of significant value (even if it was just like 5% chance) that would be really cool! 🤩

I want a backstory for my character. It's been said we were working for a big corporation before coming to CI. What if we were working for Pufferfish? Karen knows and spills the beans on us at some point because we're improving the island and messing up her plans. There could be so much drama around that reveal, with everyone's reactions depending on their personalities and the relationship level. I would also really love some developments between the NPCs, people getting together that we aren't romancing, moving out, making new friends or having a falling out with others. We could directly influence whether a friendship survives a rough spot or not by encouraging forgiveness or resentment through dialogue. It would make the town feel so much more alive and each new playthrough more unique. Lastly, absolutely yes on the pets stuff. Let me take my doggo for a stroll. Or tag along as I forage. Let the pets roam about like Taco, Bonbon, Peanut and Butter. Let them find cool foragebles for us. Let them sleep on the bed with us.

Oo that would be a real twist! I could definitely see that being possible especially because Karen knew our name right away. I love getting mail from "grandma" too and in one letter she mentions a "grandpa" and "Ashley" so that would be cool to hear more about too! (I'm sure you've surpassed it, but to save others from being spoiled).. there is cutscene where a certain person from the carpenter household moves out and I really enjoyed that they felt like they had a sense of independence. More things like that and characters having their own relationship progression would make them much more lively, I agree! Sort of reminds me of The Sims where one character could call you up and ask for advice on their relationship with another NPC.

Agreed! If they could only focus on one backstory, it should be of our character. And we should have a birthday. I don't understand why it's not included on release.

@@regrr1774 True! A birthday would be really cool, getting some gifts and specific dialogue. Maybe even a one time special event when we have enough high relationships, with those friends throwing us a surprise party at fish&ships or something.

I agree with your wish list. As an example, I went level 4 of the house upgrade and then saw that I could not decorate the "babies" room myself, what if I didn't want to have two babies and there sat one room left decorated as a baby's room and I couldn't use it. Anyway, right now I can't think of anything, but if I do I will let you know. thanks again for this.😊😊

You're not the first who I've seen want Karen to be an option actually! Are you a fan of Pufferfish Corp. or would you rather a romance with Karen lead to being able to change her mind about the company/environment?

@@StaciGames Yeap, I also think Karen would be a cool option to date, I would go to the "she changes for the better" route, but to be honest her evilness is what makes her attractive!!!

@@PeggingCryptids I was devasted to find out Derek is not romancable. I saw him and immediately thought I found my man on day 1. I was scammed.

To interact with kids. Yes, game save. My spouse ignores our second child. We cannot talk or feed our babies. Yes, play pool, darts and volleyball. We should have to feed our pets. Our partner should actually give us food. Not just talk about it.😊 I have Palia and The Witch of Fern Island to keep me distracted but looking forward to update. It will be a great game. Someday.

I agree! I'm enjoying it, but it definitely has a lot more left to add in/update to reach it's full potential. I'm also playing Palia in the meantime and love it even though it's only in beta. 😊

A couple of weeks ago I spent a whole day clearing out the ocean, I come out at 10pm, went to go talk to wakuu and crash….i just got off the pc I was so annoyed so I second the save throughout the day

Ugh, I'm sorry that happened to you. 😔 I've seen a lot of people saying crashing is a big issue, although mostly on console. Nothing like needing a break from a game after you lose all your progress for the day though. 🥲

Didn't have the game crashing yet, thankfully, but I do have a toddler and my game time is limited to when she's sleeping (among other things). So when she's awake, that's it for the in-game day. Would certainly be nice to be able to save whenever.

Coral island is great on xbox series s and x because since we got quick resume i can pause it go to the xbox dashboard and turn the concole off and next time i click on coral island it loads right back where i left off

I wish that romanceable characters we don't romance have their own romances and children! Like Alice with Noah Suki with Ben Charles with Millie Scott with Lily Yuki with Luke I also want Sam and Emily finally have a child. I also want my children have friends their age and I want to see Archie date and marry Valentina when they grown up!!!

Absolutely agree! Continued character stories/development would make the game feel even more alive. There's too many characters in the game for everyone to remain single forever besides our character!

What draws you to Jim? I have a soft spot for him because of the fact that he's widowed even though he's a bit grumpy. Can't be easy to lose your spouse and still raise 2 kids on top of that.. 🥺

The only thing I've seen is that a cellar key looks like it will be obtainable at some point. It's on their wiki under "specials" (With items like the diving suit and soft bristle brush), but with no information except that it unlocks access to the cellar. The cellar is not available in the current game version and I'm not sure when it will be just yet. 🤔

There are too many black cats - I like black cats of course, but when there are only a few to choose from and 3 are black, it limits the variety - I want to see more different cat colors, especially some calico combinations.

It's possible they could add more in the future! The intial pets released were created by Kickstarter backers so apparently a lot of people like black cats. 🤭
