@@LifeWellCruised im seriously not a ' dress' girl , i reserve dresses for memorial services and weddings , lol. but have outfits with pants that are interchangable for casual and formal
I’m a solo senior traveller and a minimalist dresser and packer. I’ll be going on a Panama Canal cruise in a few days time and I’ll mostly be wearing shorts, tshirts and blouses. I will also be bringing a pair of yoga pants. I won’t be attending formal nights and probably not even MDR. I usually go to the buffet and order room service. I will be bringing two swimsuits and a cover up. You look great in your outfits. I think you’re a clothes horse😅. You and your husband are always so smartly attired.
Shein meets with the approval of my teen(college Freshman). She loves all their selections. Good quality and pricing that won’t make the CC owner(me) have sticker shock.
... nice thing about the Caribbean cruises is wear anything white and your set ... covered as needed from the sun ... great for hot, humid weather ... best thing is you can wear the outfit twice and no one bat's an eye ... senior man here ... pack light ...
I'm a minimalist packer (and solo traveller)...I take the largest carry-on suitcase permitted, a large tote bag and a medium-size travel purse. Almost never need to check luggage- except for Alaska. I bring 2 or 3 nice dresses made from wrinkle-free fabric that I can literally ball up. I generally don't do formal nights, although I could with one of the dresses. Only one bathing suit as I enjoy shade more than sun.
Cute choice of dresses.I loved them all, however all of them were sleeveless. Probably a obvious choice due to the weather, but I just don’t feel comfortable unless there’s a slight short sleeve. Thanks for the suggestions!
A menswear video would be terrific. My husband has no clue what to pack so I end up packing for both of us. Over the years, after many cruises, I've gotten so much better at not overpacking. I love dresses that can do double or triple duty-smart casual dinners, ports, coverups. As always, a great video!
Hi Ilana, when I saw the content of this video I handed it right over to Jill. I could wear the same shorts and t-shirt on a 10 night cruise and not think twice about it. A fashion model I am NOT. Hi from Bob in rags and Jill dressed to the 9's here in Connecticut
I have watched I think all of your videos. Would love to see a video about what size luggage you recommend. Since you say you can only bring one per person, how do you get everything you talk about with your clothes and shoes in one piece of luggage? Maybe a video on best ways to pack your bag with everything you will need would be very helpful to alot of people preparing for their first cruise.
My wife and I are going on our fist cruise in December 2024. We appreciate this guidance, and as a guy, I would be interested in seeing a video to help me plan how to pack. We've been enjoying all your videos. Thank you.
Lovely outfits. I tend to wear dresses on my cruise and off shore too. I find them stylish and when in European cities, less of a tourist. For formal nights, I purchases pair of crepe palazzo pants that looks like I am wearing a long skirt. I can match it with any number of sequin and/or metallic tops. I find these dress slacks very versatile and are perfect for any formal occassion. Also, they are a space saver in my luggage.
I am a last minute packer and I played the video to remind me of what to pack and what was in the closet. I would start and stop the video. I think you covered everything for me. Thank you for your time making this video and showing pictures. I had a good idea of temperature, wendy
Thanks for the video Ilana, it appears that you and your husband dress to compliment each other, that's the way we dress and enjoy formal nights. I do all my own packing and would love to see a video on mens packing, I can always learn something new! Thanks again! Have Fun and Happy Cruising!!😎👍
Just wanted to thank you for your great tip about bringing magnetic hooks on our cruise. So helpful. We just returned yesterday from a 10 day cruise on the Celebrity Silhouette. It was heaven!! No port changes. All went well. 2 years in the waiting.
Hi Ilana! I love nautical outfits too! The blue stripes make my cruise experience more special. Awesome how you coordinate your outfits with that of your hubby. So yes! I would love a video about packing for men. 🧳
Really cute outfits. For my 'Welcome Back' cruise in November 2021, I ordered a 3 outfits, 2 I absolutely loved, will be a return customer, haven't tried Shein yet. Thanks for sharing!
I’ve bought swim suits from shein (waiting for arrival) but I have hit the absolute jackpot at goodwills! Some of the most gorgeous dresses. I cannot wait to wear it all.
California Linda shares WOW....stunning and classic evening look, absolutely beautiful! I almost always wear slacks, a coordinating top and jacket when cruising. The weight of the fabric depends upon the anticipated climate. Imagine my surprise when I found my goto Chicos brand for sale onboard Princess. Now, the shops are one of my first must do on embarkation after lunch at Alfredo's and sail away, there are times that I have been able to purchase another coordinating item for what I packed for the cruise, or purchase something that a year ago was not in my budget. Thanks for sharing.
Love your videos! We are going on a cruise this year. I absolutely love the dark blue cover up in your video but you did not mention where you got it from and it wasn’t in the links you left - lacy look coverup - it was a pic of you standing in the shallow end of the pool in this video. It’s so pretty and what I am looking for! Thank you in advance and thank you for posting all these amazing videos!
LOVE your videos!! Just returned from an 8-night cruise on Carnival Horizon, and was so happy to get back on a ship! In May we’re on Celebrity Millennium 10-night Pacific Coast , then March a 15-night on Ruby Princess to Hawaii. We had a total of 6 cruises canceled, so this is more cruising than we usually do in a years time. Your videos have me excited to get back on both cruise lines! ❤
Yes, please, on what to wear for men! It'd be great to maybe cover both what your husband and son(s) wear to get an idea for different generations. Thanks for the helpful videos. Stay safe!
Thank you for this, even though I haven't had a dress on in ages, Still some good tips. Thank you for putting your links in all your videos. I've watched stuff and didn't write it down. Now I don't have to go dig for what I wanted. You look so cute, I'd love to be a size small and wear dresses again!!!
I love your style, you definitely inspired me for my cruise. I enjoy classy and laid back attire. I am 26 years old and my two year old son will be cruising with me. I did not want to look back at family photos and look like a teenybopper lol
Oh, how fun! A cruise fashion video. It's the thing that I obsess the most about regarding the cruise. I'd do rompers but it's so hard to use the bathroom. So it's two pieces and dresses for me.
Oh I have to agree! Using the BR when out and about away from my cabin in those tiny stalls can really be a challenge. I do love rompers but they don’t make it into my cruise suitcase. You looked lovely in the romper in the video.
Do you have a video on what to wear on a Alaskan cruise, I’ve never even seen snow so have no idea on what the weather is like in May, I’m imagining myself in ski gear lol but have heard it’s not needed. Thanks
I tend not to comment as much as I should… But I wanted to pause the video at your eveningwear options… I think your black full length with the leg cut out in the plunging neckline, needed a bit of bling in the décolleté and possible matching earrings or a diamond or rhinestone crystal Coffe… Just my two cents… But you look fabulous!
Gosh, you always look so glam... please could you tell me what size you ordered in that dress? I really like it and have found it on Amazon (we are in the UK), but not sure what size to order. Thank you.
I too love to watch these types of videos and wish there were more of them! That romper is speaking my language😊 Yes finding men videos is really hard.
I like your outfits! I’ve ordered pieces from SHEIN’s as well and found out about them from another video or Facebook! Several cruisers say they get cruise outfits from them! Thank you for sharing!
I would love to see a packing video for cold weather cruising. We have a few cruises coming up that will be in cold weather. I have found dresses that I can wear for evening and make them dressing with jewelry and shoes and my purse and then turn the dress around another day dress down with other jewelry sandals or flip flops .
Taking a Southern Carribean cruise in 2024. Took a 7 day cruise in early September 2022, packed way too much. I know now what not to bring. And a rolling carry on!!
For sunglasses, you can get straps to go on the legs and they'll keep your sunnies afloat if they get away from you on an excursion! They're usually fun neon colors too. Can hang on your neck instead of your head or keep them from getting sandy (or suntan oiled up 😭) in the beach bag etc
I just order 3 sundresses from Amazon and a few other things you suggested . I'm a little heavier than you, sew I hope I look good in them! Thanks for all your tips on cruising.
Your cruise prep video is excellent and very helpful when packing. These are great planning tips. I have the same RL wedge thong sandals in brown and the gold. Both are comfortable. I’ll certainly take all your travel advise. Thanks again.
Lovely outfits & dresses. You look great in all of them.❤️ I bought two romper suits for my upcoming cruise, along with some nice dresses. Most of the clothes I'm planning to bring are new but I just wanted to treat myself 😊
Loved seeing all your outfits. Love this kind of content as it’s easy to relate to. Shein here in UK is incredibly cheap. I haven’t bought anything but my daughters have. I am an older larger lady so have to watch the cut and length. Looking forward to seeing any new purchases you make. I didn’t even know Amazon sold clothes.
would love to see a men's packing video! My son-in-law is joining on a cruise for the first time and it would be great for him to see something like this. Thanks!
I’ll create a video soon, but I have this mens cruise packing list and cruise wear guide that might be helpful lifewellcruised.com/cruise-wear-for-men-mens-packing-list-for-a-cruise/
if you have time hahaha, would you make some suggestions for older women and for larger women regarding clothes, bathing suits, and cover ups. we don't like to show our angel wings so we like sleeves that cover up our elbows. we also don't necessarily like to show our knees either. would appreciate any suggestions. thank you
Packing for men would be great. We are going on an Alaska cruise with Princess end of May-June. Husband is not a formsl guy and want make sure he is not too casual especially for formal nights.
My husband packs more than me! He likes to wear shorts when he can. Has been taking light colored long slacks (he would need a second pair of shoes if he brought dark slacks)… it would be great to see how many button down Vs polo Vs tshirts…
It is lovely to see somebody who are well travelled. The only thing is never go on those big cruise ships. The people that goes on those big cruise ship are very classless people. First they go on the ship with shorts and tea shirts and they walk off the ship wearing bathing suits and a bald cover up and it is against the countries policies. I have never been on those huge cruise ships. I always go on five days six star cruises. I usually have these beautiful light cruise pieces on the ship. I leave the ship around 11.00am and go out the majority of the day in beautiful pieces and jewellery to match. At nights I always dress up and eat in the restaurant and I get compliments all the time because the people that go on the ships we go on are people who are retired just like us, and most of them are from EuropeI haven’t been since 2009 because the cruise ships do not want to pay the Port fees so they only stop at a few Ports. They want you to spend all your money on the ship. So we stop going on cruises and we bought a house in Anguilla, but my son got married two years ago and I gave it to them for his wedding present. I decided to built another one in Punta Mitha as it is not far for flying and I am getting older. I didn’t go in the last three years because of the Pandemic, so I told my husband let’s sell it and built another one in Turks and Caicos. No more cruises for me the class of people that go on cruises now is like if they are going in their backyard. I don’t like people who tries to bargain from these very poor natives and they do that a lot in Mexico. I just hate it and on the cruise ship the people don’t leave the ships to go and try out the different culture foods off the ship. They just sit in the Buffett area and eat and drinks all day and they don’t give tips at all. Long ago you used to leave an envelope for Tks when you are taking care of your tabs when leaving, but I heard the ship tell you how much you have to tip or leave in the envelope which is good, because some people make it looks bad for others. Also long ago you could of leave the ship and bring on all the alcohol you want, not any more you have to buy it off the ship. Thank God we don’t drink. The waste of food is so disgusting and disrespectful it just makes me sick, but I am happy for you that you still find cruises where it is comfortable for you. I remember going on a twenty one day cruise to Mexico, the ship left from San Francisco to Acapulco, we were on board for four straight days, then we stop at every port until we reached Cabo San Lucas on the last day to San Francisco and back to Canada. It was the best cruise we have ever went on. We had accumulating so much miles and I think a Platinum card. So we had cocktail nights with the Captain and then we would go for dinner and take in a show or one of the nigh clubs. I am glad you still go and you do have a good time. It was nice viewing your video. All the best. Oh, never use the towels and bed sheets and pillow cases and covers. Walk with your own. There are too many cabins on those big ships and there is always a back up in the toilets and they uses the same towels they gave you for your shower to clean up the mess from the over flowing toilets. Always get up early the next day of your trip and do all your ironing. I usually keep my dresses and clothes in the plastic bags you get from the laundry so I packs them by just folding them in my suitcases with the hanger placed up and then fold in half, but my husband shirts and short pants I iron them all the next day. Remember there are a lot of pick pockets on those large ships and cameras all around. On the ship we go on like Oceania and ships like that every suit has a balcony and it’s own butler. Like I said there are five and six star so it is like you are at the Ritz Carlton or St. Regis. All the best.
