Dutch Prodigy when Dennis Bergkamp was retiring, was very happy RvP arrived as a Dutch in Arsenal. Was very keen following every game and watch RvP grow as a player. The goals was just crazy, as the shots getting more lethal and free kicks... I knew RvP can take Netherlands far and that WC dream... So close. Still hoping NL will win the WC. Why I was so keen on RvP, we are from the same generation. When RvP joined Man Utd, my father very happy but as an Arsenal fan, I was upset. Knew RvP was at his prime lol. But understood it from RvP point of view, Arsenal was not trying hard enough to challenge for the EPL. So, fair enough. It reminded me of Titi's exit. Emotional. But RvP dealt with the exit with precision. Lol. The rest was history. Just proud when he was in an Arsenal & KNVB shirt. That 2014 revenge on Spain, big statement. 😎
It's hard to find an Arsenal fan who doesn't hate Robin, but i think they'll start to respect him again soon after his retirement. Because why not? He is undoubtedly a football legend.
@@destianpatrianagara1119 hatred is probably too much, esp for a pro player that given most of his career for Arsenal. Just like Kosh, 9 years. The amount of years says it all.
@@destianpatrianagara1119 I personally don't hate Robin either. He was the one football player that I followed regardless of what club he played for after Arsenal, just because of the memories I had watching him play haha. Beautiful
*It hurt when he moved to From Arsenal to United But he’s always been a class player and unlike Sanchez he actually performed at United and I wish the best for him in retirement*
I'm very certain that I heard a football analyst here in the Netherlands talk about RvP's volley technique in front of goal and the comparison with other strikers such as Ibrahimovic. The common ground was that all of them train (or have a history of) doing fight sports/martial arts.
This video shows just what an a amazing guy RVP is. Despite the stick he got from Arsenal fans he still speaks so highly of the club and his time there, and as a United fan myself he has given me many incredible memories to cherish. I was lucky enough to be in The Stretford End in 2014 when he got his Hat Trick vs Olympiacos in The Champions League. Looking forward to hearing his insight this season on BT! OH ROBIN VAN PERSIE!
This man at his peak was the complete striker, I think he’s the best player we’ve had since a prime Henry. Now that time has passed I can look beyond the bitterness of his move to United and accept that we were not moving in the right direction (and arguably still aren’t), so he had to do what was right for his career.
Oba O not leaving arsenal earlier wasn’t the issue he was never fit can’t blame arsenal. Fabregas had 4 or 5 world class seasons before he left nobody said he should’ve left sooner. RVP was always injured and had 2 world class seasons
I'm an Arsenal fan but I hold no animosity towards Van Persie. His transfer hurt me the most out of everyone we lost during those years and i was quite bitter when it originally happened however I feel his decision was vindicated as our club at the time were starting to regress and he managed to clinch the elusive PL title. One of my favourite ever players and an absolute baller.
MP023456 completely agree. He was almost thirty and we were at least two years away before we could finally invest in players due to the stadium. His time was running out.
I’ll never forget watching sky sports and seeing the yellow headline saying he went to United. I couldn’t believe it. I knew he’d probably leave but I thought he’d go to city, not arsenal’s arch enemy
Ahmed Rahim at that time there was more animosity towards united because it was the Wenger vs Fergie era. Spurs were irrelevant at the time. But that’s just my perspective
One of the best "what I wore" videos.. RVP is an absolute legend. I wonder how his goal against Spain didn't win the best goal of the WC and Puskas. It's was simply magical.
This guy is class. One of my favorite players at Man United. Was so pissed off when LVG sold RVP. My favorite goal from him was the Flying Dutchman header against Spain in 2014 World Cup
I'm an arsenal fan I still love van persie. He made the right choice. He was the last to leave out of that group and would have stayed if we actually made some signings. Can't blame the guy. We were going nowhere
@@threeeight5313 he willl be a united legend as well just wish he would have joined us when he was in his prime i mean rooney ronaldo van persie imagine that
The only reason why my favourite team is Arsenal because of this guy. He’s like a robot. Scoring goals in like every game. I’m happy for him, just didn’t want him to leave to Man U
The day he left Arsenal was one of the most painful days and I was so bitter but always respected this man. Absolute monster of a striker and I’ll never forget how hurt I was watching that Flying Dutchman goal
Attitude is such an important factor in a player's success, RVP has so much confidence and grace in the way he talks. Truly inspirational. Can tell he was destined for the top.
Glad too see RVP as a pundit and on here he left us too win trophys which he did do with the prem title people need too forget about him leaving and appreciate how great of a player he actually was now he's retired
For me when i was growing up watching arsenal. RVP was a legand for me and when he left Arsenal and moved to Manchester united. That transfer broke my heart. But easily in the top 10 legends ever in the prem
A modern day Van Basten in my eyes🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿. 2012/13 season for United🔴⚫which was such a privilege to watch him winning the title singlehandely, 2014 World Cup v Spain the flying dutchman🇳🇱🇳🇱. Thanks RvP for the memories
As a united fan I have to say even before rvp came to united I always talked about him as a pure animal! Just amazing. When he came I could not believe arsenal would ever let him go to a rival but boy was I happy. A true legend
Arsenal failed him, that's why he left. If the club had made the efforts needed to really compete for the title, he would have never left. But as an individual and a top player, he had ambitions that Arsenal was getting in the way of.
I kinda miss seeing Van Persie play in the Premier League. He was so good, that season before he moved to United was just incredible. What a season that was for him
He’s a man united man through and through only team he won the league with something he’ll be eternally grateful for. If he was a Gunner and loved yous more he wouldn’t of left to come to the best team in England lads 😉. GGMU
The efforts made to do the research, find & arrange the shirts according to his history, the kind of questions asked, the relax atmosphere that made Van Persie comfortable telling his cool stories, this is a top content! Again! Well Done!
I hate how arsenal fans don't appreciate everything he has done for thier club and still call him snake just because he wanted move after trophy less 10 season's robin is hand's down one of the best striker's in the pl history
Having seen many interviews with rvp he is a genuinely nice guy whose values are learned from experiences. Very humble. Not to mention he was a truly world class centre forward
As an arsenal fan I've never had any hate towards RVP he's done his best for our club always gave 100% yes going to United hurts but as a player he deserved it
oh i started watching it, and really enjoyed the interview.. but then at the end when RVP chose Feyernoord and the Baggio kit, i simply loved the full thing.. as Italian, living in Netherlands, can only appreciate RVP and dutch footballers in general :)
Wow. He sounds very intelligent. Most foreign players from like Belgium and Holand turn out to be smart af and very good on the pitch. De Bruyne, RVP, Bergkamp, etc.
I have been an Arsenal and Netherlands fan for a long time now. Did saw almost all of Netherlands games since 98 world cup. I only got around 2008 or 2009 with Arsenal when they started showing more of premier league games here in Finland. RVP is still the best player from Arsenal times. What a technique and class. Players like him dont come around so often.
When Henry left Arsenal I immediately said that RVP is the man and he would show the world why he is one of the greatest strikers to ever lace a pair of boots and people laughed at me for that claim. Fast forward to 2011-12 one of his only 100% fit seasons he made everyone eat their words and I always said that if he didn't have so many injury issues he would have broke 500 goals easily. Even though he broke all us Arsenal fans hearts by leaving for Man U I understood the decision being he was well into his peak and he needed to win the premier league ASAP but I hope he returns to the club in a coaching role and helps to cultivate the next generation of top class strikers.
100 fixed for ManureUrine Marinated when they signed him. I mean, just cos they signed him wasnt a dead cert. But its ManureUrine Marinated all over, a fixed fraudulent football club. Even Sergio aguero wasnt half passed that season as he knew it all fixed for ManureUrine Marinated. As for rvp he was immense at Arsenal but over the hill once he hot to manure as evidenced by his greying hair. Sergio is more a legend in the PL and better striker than rvp.
