What if 1 WTC Had a Twin 

Ok so not an identical twin. One with the antenna missing. Can you tell I miss the original WTC? Let me know what you think in the comments.

Honestly, even though I don't like the new glass tower, the twin designs look kinda cool on some angles.

You know it’s funny the design for 2 WTC seems to change every few years. I’m thinking/hoping by the time they actually finalize it, it will be a twin

They should’ve built a twin in the first place. That’s what made the original WTC stand out so much. For example, you seen any of the edits where you see the sun rising in between the twin towers like two heavenly columns.

The twin towers should have been rebuilt. But this would do it enough justice as well. The problem is, the freedom tower was EXTREMELY expensive to build, so highly unlikely they'd be willing to build another one. Nothing's impossible though... I think everyone just misses the twin tower affect. There's nothing that displays strength and prosperity more than building two identical enormous skyscrapers right next to each other. It's just so badass!

As Im a 80s child growing up in the 90s nothing beats the original WTC they had an aura about them that meant so majestic. Cool video...

It would be really cool if One World Trade Center had a twin... and in the middle of the 2 towers there could be a bronze sphere just like the original...

The one On the Memorial Park would have looked awesome

Having it build in the memorial site is perfect! It’s won’t disturb any current buildings, it completes the skyline, 1wtc serves the north pool 2wtc serves the south pool. It’s the perfect choice well done! I hope this design gets picked. Any other design would be disrespectful. NYC needs its twins

I’ve always wondered if someone was considering the idea of building a replica on the freedom tower in the place where the new 2wtc should be. However, once I saw your simulation, I don’t like it… It seems to me that there’s too much space between the towers. To me, the best option would be placing the second tower in the middle of the memorial, however this is currently impracticable. Thanks for the great video!!

I pray we get another freedom tower twin, Manhattan’s Skyline will finally feel full, have our twin towers again will feel awesome. In the other twin towers we could have a windows of the world and a observation deck

The Memorial Park layout is definitely best for if they were going to build a twin. It also allows for better visibility of both buildings at more angles. Though OWTC’s design loses its symbolism when it has a twin. The design of OWTC is supposed to be the Twins fused together in unity. Which I think is really nice and really makes me love OWTC on its own. So 2WTC would probably work best as a equally tall, but visually distinct building. Allowing for a similar twin silhouette, harkening back to the originals, but giving the new complex its own identity. All you’d need to do is slightly change the road positioning. Then you could put 6WTC (The Diamond 2WTC design perhaps?) I’d just then move the 9/11 Museum to where 3WTC used to be. Since 1,2 and 3 were the only buildings to have had fatalities.

I keep saying since the current design is so similar to the original design, we should obviously build a twin! Unfortunately there’s no longer any good place to put it, to retain that nice diagonal spacing of the original.

I prefer the Foster WTC2 design, but that version with twin WTC1s right next to eachother? I wonder what the winds would be like at the base. Looks like the angled sides could create interesting wind patterns (or not!).

Also just take a moment and think about that view… Your on the 93rd floor of this new 2 WTC and your on the west facing side looking down…literally staring straight into the pool…it would be haunting…you’d be looking at the antithesis of the memorial from the position of its purpose..those who fell before and with the towers..that’s not a easy thing to get comfortable with.

It looks a lot better. Than the 1 tower. It gives new york its character back. But ill still say i want the originals back though

I used to be against the idea a lot when I was a kid but now I feel this would really bring back the identity of NYC that was lost in the 2000s to the attacks. This would help in us completely moving past that tragic day to construct another Twin Tower. The One WTC kinda looks generic but adding another would bring back the uniqueness behind the O.G. that the first ones had.

I agree that last one should have been what they did In lower manhattan. Not sure why they didn’t build a twin. That would have not only replace the skyline but would have further made sure people never forgotten. Having two new buildings almost like the old towers would have made everyone happy. Yet they claim the one world trade is what everyone wanted. No one wanted that building

I would rather prefer the Twin of 1 WTC to have been built on the memorial park in order to mirror the off set positioning of the original Twin Towers.

I think they should have built the tower (with a twin) with glass, but in the same shape as the original, is there a way to simulate this?

Tbh I understand the emotion and feeling in having these towers back but the truth is that we should just let those buildings rest with the people who were massacred inside, nobody wants to reminded of something where a lot of people died like that, plus the wtc 2 with the diamond design should be the final design it shows elegance, optimism and balls

I kind of wish some billionaire real estate investor would come in and propose building an identical tower on the memorial park and slap a billion dollar investment on it to get people moving. Only problem would be having to build the foundation work and deconstructing the foundation built in 2 WTC current proposed site. It would be the Twin Towers reborn. Then extend the memorial around 2 WTC to compensate for the loss of part of the memorial park. Perhaps the road get's rerouted and the 2 WTC proposed site can become part of the memorial park.

I think they should HUGELY consider this. Seen from afar, they seem pretty close to the original towers to me!!! but if they built another freedom tower, that should be very near to the first tower. And then i think that it would be kinda like returning into the past before the attacks seeing these two towers!

*When I was a toddler my parents visit America from Japan.* *I remember when we came closer to the airport door my parents asked these two pilots about if they would mind take picture of us with my siblings inside the cockpit they agreed.* *The reason why we visit America was because my uncle and his wife had a apartment not far from the twin towers.* *My uncle wife worked there in the original towers, somehow my uncle invited my parents and me and my siblings.* *I remember somehow I entered the building and ran into the sourvenir shop to get a small toy or a t-shirt.* *To this day I still have the toy and the t-shirt since then.*

Personally, I think they should "rebuild" the former South Tower, with the same footprint, instead of the steel facade, they can do an all glass but in an all-glass design and a more modern look. Has that idea ever been explored?

if the second one was rotated slightly or altered so the glass panels are opposite (one points up and the twin counterpart points down, just shift the pattern 45 degrees) i think it would look neat. also it looks wrong without something to cover the top.

I like that Freedom Tower. We don't know what gona happen in the future and I hope it will stay there for more year's then the Twin Towers. Good luck New York..

Sorry but I always thought a second tower should have been placed there. To me Growing up in the city those towered were a huge part of my childhood. I would have loved to have to old towers back but at best I would have loved them to build both towers back even if it’s two of these “freedom Towers”. And they should have built them on the original footprint. I know the memorial is there. And not trying to offend any family member who lost a love one. But at the time after this happened everyone said rebuild bigger and stronger. We wanted to show we weren’t scared and we weren’t going to lose. Yet not rebuilding what was there felt like a huge loss. Not only Did they kill thousands but they ruined the skyline they took away a symbol of Americans and we never proved we could move on and be strong by building one world trade. There should have at least be a second world trade.

I would like to have a twin again. But I think we need to investigate the British fire escape system. Hula-hoop style rings to climb through with fishnet tubing around it looks like it might have been faster. If the rings are big enough you wouldn't have to go single file, and an exterior method would not be prone to the power-outage and building damage problems of internal stairways
