[What-If 16] Goku VS "Bardock".

I like how “Bardock” talks about wanting a good fight, this likely means that throughout his time in a saiyans body he was affected similarly to Goku Black which also explains why he trained in the first place with Bardocks body.

"When the world needed him most, he came back."

At 4:38, Goku’s power level dropped from 4,500,000 to around 90,000, implying that he possibly went super sayian before his death. Great details you have.

3:43 i love this transformation, it's fit perfectly with Ginue's personnality, he would have totally transformed into super sayan by dancing if he could do that in the original serie

We all know Bardock wanted to stop Frieza from exterminating the Saiyans, but what's interesting here is that Bardock appears to be working for him despite this fact. Based on Bardock's reactions and how the creator cleverly used Ginyu's theme for the end credits.. I think all of us can put two and two together. Amazing work as always, Hyourinjutsu!

Ginyu was actually using Bardocks body’s and understands the Saiyan physiology and was able to utilize SSJ. Interesting concept indeed..

That twist actually caught me off guard. This one was short but brutal at the same time, and it’s actually one of my favorites. Edit: Spoilers btw For those unaware, the twist is that Ginyu takes Bardock’s body. His subtitles are purple on Namek but green on Vegeta, title has Bardock in quotation marks, loyal to Frieza.

The fact that Bardock's dailogue was green in the beginning and Ginyu purple in the fight with Goku. Clever clever

I feel like this animation was you trying out some new things while also polishing fundamentals. It made me feel a "back to basics" vibe. It was nice! Did I guess right?

Yo this is actually crazy! Finding out that Captain Ginyu switched bodies with Bardock's was mind blowing. Another great animation, awesome as always.

I kept wondering why Goku’s power level skyrocketed to 4,500,000 the first time I saw this. I thought Goku decided to use Kaioken x50 as a last resort to match against “Bardock” but upon closer inspection I noticed the little detail of goku’s hair being spiked up. MY GUY WENT SUPER SAIYAN BEFORE HIS DEATH! I really would’ve like to see a super saiyan Goku before getting the zenkai boost before fighting final form freiza in the canon timeline vs this version of bardock with his super saiyan form. Amazing work as always Hyourinjutsu!!

This series is SO FUCKING GOOD! Everyone seems to forget that what made DBZ great wasn't the explosive fights or animation, but the context and sheer HYPE that was built up behind every great battle. The lore you put into your work elevate them above any other fan animation, and the animation itself is crispy-clean and as high-quality as you can get. Awesome work as usual Hyourinjutsu!

The fact that this animation just showed up so fast is mind boggling. This is stunning and I love every second.

Edit: do not read below if you don't want to get spoiled. Realizing that it was actually Ginyu the entire time was an amazing twist. Even changing Bardock's green text at the beginning to purple on namek was such a nice touch.

Every time you upload, there is always at least one moment in the video that gives me chills; and that's so goddamn cool. This time it was (3:44) with "Bardock" mentioning how he's second strongest to Frieza. The pose Bardock has at (3:49) is just so chilling, and using Gogeta SSJ4's theme from FighterZ is the perfect topping to it all man. So much respect; keep up the great work and thank you so much! These What-If's are so fun to see!

This timeline's Ginyu must have been witness to Frieza's transformations, otherwise he would not call himself second-strongest. Also, a Super Saiyan under Frieza's orders is a pretty tragic irony.

The outline of Goku's hair being Super Saiyan for just a split second right before he died was a really nice touch. Great what-if battle!

This was, in my opinion, your most IMPRESSIVE animation to this date, holy cow!

Even if short, it was really sweet and makes me wonder about its story. Throughout the fight it somewhat seemed like Ginyu sort of hated trying to finish off goku/kill him, but had to knowing what his intentions were to find the dragon balls and finish him off. It was also cool not only did you mix in Jeice's moves, but you could tell it was Ginyu by his graceful/flashy movement both in the air and by fighting. Mixed with bardocks strong and focused style with it. I think personally while Ginyu took over Bardocks body, he has somewhat of his thought process, as Ginyu is usually Energetic/Uproarious this one seems more Serious and Calm, maybe hinting that his training with the body had allowed him to tap further into Bardocks mind, thus allowing him to achieve super saiyan and such. Either that or I'm thinking too deep into this :X

It wasn't Bardock. It was Captain Ginyu himself.

The Ginyu twist was certainly unexpected. I half expected Bardock to just be faking it to test Goku's skill or something.

So basically Goku also went ssj or atleast false ssj but he destroyed his body with kaioken so he died instead And for anyone wondering, yes it was Ginyu the whole time. He had a purple text while talking and he even posed when transforming, he also finished Goku with a milky cannon

I've actually never thought about Ginyu taking Bardock's body. That would have been pretty badass.

That unbelievable strain of x40 kaioken with only 100x gravity training, even I would've given up there.

If this is ginyu training in bardocks body for 25 years then the conclusion makes a lot of sense

Toriyama, give this man control of the franchise already! At least somebody make him a lead editor or executive producer! The story is always so much better and more creative in these shorts than the main series.

MAN I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS! I've been following your channel for years now and your animations, close-ups and scenarios are such a treat everytime. I have to admit, you, using Bardock's moveset from DBFZ was an added Easter Egg for those who know, plus the UI OST sealed it.

It took me a minute but Ginyu being freaking bardock the whole time was a GREAT twist.

If Goku used a Kaioken x50 he could’ve beat SSJ Bardock since SSJ is a 50 times multiplier of your base form

Your first battle wasn’t with frieza, BUT IT WAS I! GINYU!

Damn I kinda wanna see an alternate ending where “Bardock” is too late to stop goku from fully powering up at the end

I think this one could have a sequel with Goku coming back because Goku was mid false SSJ transformation and while his power went back to zero he didn't appear to be completely dead yet, maybe very close hence Ginyu not be able to hear or see his extremely low breathing and I'm guessing Ginyu went directly to Goku after taking the balls to frieza and if he did then Vegeta, krillen and Gohan probably already almost beat the rest of the force and if they are smart Vegeta will steal the balls back give them to Gohan and krillen and take Goku from them and when frieza frantically leaves the ship he'll put goku in a healing pod and meet up with Gohan and Krillen who would have brought piccolo back and sent him there like in cannon. And then after purunga pre maturley dissappears they are met by an angry Bardyu and they try to hold him off and during that time frieza comes over and just let's Bardyu continue while watching and then Piccolo fuses with nail and assist while dende heals Vegeta as Goku arrives in time blocking the shot that normally kills Vegeta. Then Goku turns and hits Bardyu telling Piccolo, Vegeta and the others to focus on Frieza while he handles thus guy and do to being extremely close to death while being half way into a false ssj transformation and surviving his base power would now be equal to SSJ Bardyu. And I can imagine Bardyu mentioning Goku's dad and Goku asking about it and then Bardyu explaining what happened causing Goku to get mad and start transforming into SSJ "y-you monster! He tried to save them all of them despite none of them believing him or helping him, yet he still tried and I wouldn't be surprised if had caught on to frieza plan for awhile and sent me away to save me, he even achieved the ledgend and yet you, you people stole his body and kill all of them, your loyal soldiers and you just killed them all!!!!!" [A reddish golden warrior now stands in front of Bardyu] "I-impossible how, how can you be, wha-what are you? Your a SSJ but you've also got another energy an energy similar to that technique it's as if they became one." "That's quite simple Ginyu when you shot me with that blast my body was giving into Kaioken's power and I got angry causing me to start the SSJ transformation but you cut me off so I never got to finish the transformation but now it's done. I am son Goku! The saiyan raised on earth, adoptive grandson of old man Gohan, brother of Raditz and The son of Bardock the SSJ! I am the legendary KaioSSJ." [Goku then decks him up into the air and obliterates him with a Kamehameha. Before turning to face Frieza] Vegeta: " He-he's evolved past the ledgend. I-incredible."

Notice how the title says Goku Vs “Bardock” and not just Goku Vs Bardock, great attention to detail

Captain Ginyu stole Bardock's body? This must be a timelime where Bardock went SSJ against 1st form Frieza and eventually lost too Frieza due too him transforming into his second form and beyond. Then Bardock was defeated, Ginyu was allowed too steal his body and take it as his own and relearned how too unlock SSJ within Bardock. Damn💀

I . . . don't know what to say. Every animation you pump out is full of story, love, and charm that only you can do. Every one of your animations just keeps getting better. I can't wait to see what's next in store. Edit: Also, don't listen to those people in chat saying L fight because of how short it was, this fight was perfect like all of your previous ones.

The title says “Bardock” in quotation marks, + he said ‘lord frieza, which leads me to believe he’s ginyu

I like the details of Goku turning Super Sayajin before dying and Ginyu using Bardock body, the movement with some dances and the dialogues "Using this body made me know better than to underestimate a saiyan". It would be cool to see how that happened, but it would be even more cool if this had any connection to [What-If] Vegeta Were To Turn Super Saiyan Before Goku. Because this would imply that Vegeta wasn't putting his hope on Goku to defeat Frieza because he was already dead, then that would be like a last stand. Although it would be tricky to explain how they would fight "Bardock"

I was Questioning This until I did the math. Bardock in base was around 2,000,000 SSJ Bardock is 100,000,000 Freiza's max is 120,000,000 So freiza beats Bardock at 90% power

So im assuming Ginyu took Bardocks body from what Bardock said after beating Goku well damn. Thank you for making amazing animations keep it up Hyourinjutsu 👍

ok it took me a hot minute to figure out why he was saying stuff that bardock normally wouldnt say, like "lord frieza" and other stuff like the purple subs and usually when it comes to bardock 99% of the time in scenarios like this he figures out Goku is his son. But the main factor that should've popped out to me was the clearly obvious quotation marks around Bardocks name lol

As fun to watch this, it really is a stomp when you write it down Analysis 1) Goku's power level here is base 90,000 when he just entered namek. Id say "ginyu bardock" base is around 2 million since he said he was 2nd to freiza...probably been fighting all this time and getting zenkais. which means hes almost to final form freiza since he is already ssj. So final form freiza is 120 million..ssj bardock would be around 100 mill...Goku at this point had no chance. Kaioken ×40=3million 6hundred thousand. Goku at his peak was barely over ginyu bardock's base. So that punch at 3:36 forced ginyu bardock to go ssj. 2)He died as a ssj.. his ssj hair shows in the shadow.. which still isnt enough goku's base *50= bardock still wins My critique 1)Goku character has shown he knows when to call it a day and bounce. We ve seen this with semi perfect cell. Sensing energy in namek saga was everything, so goku would know he had no chance 2)wheres the spirit bomb??? 3) Goku's advantage here, is ginyu bardock cant sense energy. Knowing goku's cleverness, he d probably strike at his peak before ginyu bardock turn ssj, since he cant sense him Plus Goku has sensu beans...after eating one he definetly reach supersayan status...then it d be a real fight

Bardock realistically would have ZERO chance in this fight. His ssj would be weaker or, at most, on par with 1st form frieza. Yet this fight is still so intriguing. Good job man

Wow,l didn’t even realize that Captain Ginyu in Bardock’s body until the very end! That’s a clever twist! One question though : How did Ginyu had access to Bardock’s Super Sayian Form? I thought that You need to be filled with rage to become one. Other than that,that was a very brutal fight!

Fun fact: Goku would need a Kaioken x500 to surpass “Bardock” in his Super Saiyan form. Even if Goku went Super Saiyan 3 it wouldn’t be enough as his Base Form is simply too weak.

While the twist is good, I think that the best part about this video is the mystery of what happened to Goku near the end, because that was no Super Saiyan, at least that what I think, and Goku seemed to be able to go far beyond what he was able to do with the kaioken in the anime at that time(Which was kaioken times 10), and he looked like he blacked out when he used kaioken times 40. It also seemed like the blast that "Bardock" used didn't take him out (At least not completely). It looked more like his body just gave out. I just thought of another thing, if "Bardock" is a super saiyan then why is frieza still in charge. I think the reason is in this timeline frieza already has another form other than his final form

Great animation, as always! It's an interesting What-if, that, given the background we now have about Saiyans, would actually be a good decision for Ginyu to make. But, realistically, I do not think he would have made it. His original body was stronger than Bardock's and Saiyans were viewed as low-class warriors anyway. Really cool twist, though!

Funny thing, despite seeing the title, the moment I saw Namek and Bardock had " around his name, I knew it was Ginyu in Bardock's body. And that would honestly be pretty scary. Ginyu who trained in the body of a Saiyan that can not only get stronger from it, but also from near death experiences....yeah, this would be a timeline where Frieza would win without a doubt.

Didn't Goku have 3 senzu's at this point? Since he hasn't met Gohan, Krillin, Or Vegeta yet in this timeline.

I can think of 3 reasons why they would fight: 1.They love to battle 2.They both want the Dragon balls ........ 3.That's not bardock!!! Still good stuff
