This is such a ludicrous experimental parameter scenario on so many levels. Impossible to reach a fraction of speed of light within distance of moon to earth or absorb energy of a significant amount in such a microsecond.

Slight problem: Black Holes don't have "Infinite Mass". We can measure their masses, usually in multiples of our sun's' mass. Even the SuperMassive Black Hole at the center of our galaxy doesn't have Infinite Mass - if it did the galaxy would collapse into it in seconds. Followed by the neighboring galaxies and so forth. I think Special Relativity comes into play or Quantum Mechanics or some such thing when talking about things like this?

There are so many problems with this proposed solution. First and foremost, you don’t get to create free energy. The amount of energy you put into that needle is what you’d get out. So you’d need a source of energy to accelerate it to that speed. Past that we’re not certain what happens if a massive object attempts to reach the speed of light. All predictions point to it failing as the energy intended go to into increasing velocity would be converted into mass through mass energy equivalence (E=mc²), hence the supposition of the black hole at the end, but before that it wouldn’t be able to reach the speeds to actually create that mass without first having that energy available to accelerate it. Finally, entropy. While energy can’t be destroyed, when it’s used, it enters a less useful state. Like how a computer gets hot while it’s being used, part of the energy used to do the work in the PC is lost to the environment as waste heat. By the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics, we cannot create more useful energy than we use, i.e. entropy is always increasing. The only thing you could do was figure out how to harness energy from another source. This could at best take energy from the geomagnetic field, but that seems like a reckless idea that risks significantly impacting our protection from cosmic rays and solar winds
