Good story suggestion

They were despicable and disposable pawns compared to Palpatine and Anakin. Anakin wouldn't have risked such an idiotic betrayal, especially not until his child is born. Sidious would have probably killed the Separatist leaders, and then Anakin too. Fallen as a war hero, Padme probably would have survived after the twins are born, her heart, so to speak, less broken. As a Senator, she can organize a good upbringing for her children, cooperating with Yoda and Obi-Wan. The twins grow up at a remote planet, knowing their mother and knowing that their father was killed by the Emperor. They will probably never be told that Anakin betrayed the Jedi Order. The Rebellion will have at least three Jedi Knights twenty years later, maybe four if Yoda can still feel the power to fight. With no Darth Vader, the Emperor takes a lot to access, but if accessed, defeatable.

@@leventebardossy5962 There's an argument to make that, as the separatist leaders told him that Sidious promised them safety, he just realises how foolish it is to trust sidious, so instead he just request them to provide him with the best medical facility that they have for padme's childbirth, when obi-wan and padme arrive, he convinces them both to follow him with the separatists to prepare the fight against sidious.

@@ZsoronZ It's also an option, but I don't think he would 'prepare the fight against Sidious'. I believe he would know the entire war is rigged so that Palpatine's forces are never to be defeated, whichever pawns he moves at the moment. He would hide along with his family, maybe with Obi-Wan and Yoda. Returning to the good side, but unable to save the Republic.

Personally I think that Sidious wouldn’t have killed Ashoka as while she was no chosen one she was still incredibly talented and would still do well as his apprentice now that Anakin would not join him.

I can easily see Yoda convincing Anakin to stay on the side of the light. I can also see him deciding to avoid confronting Palpatine head on and locking down the temple. A good suggestion.
