Sure, a unicorn design doesn’t have to be Fairy, hence original Rapidash. But Galarian Ponyta isn’t just a unicorn, it’s a unicorn covered in fluffy shimmering fur and FAIRY dust that lives in the glowing mushroom forest surrounded by other fairies…that just screams fairy to me. Meanwhile there’s nothing inherently psychic about it that I can tell. If anything, Galarian Ponyta should have been mono Fairy and then gained Psychic when it evolves. Okay, rant over lol

Ever since the first trailer dropped from swsh I imagined Grookey becoming a grass/rock type. Especially with that drumming on a stone. I think it would also be a better typing than grass/ground competitively. + the only pokemon with that typing is cradily so it would be nice to see another one.

It's ubsurd that sinistea's only water type move is withdraw. It should at least learn scald.

Sinistea and polteageist should be ghost grass, they learn a stupid amount of grass moves and tea is a plant

I’d prefer the first forms of Zacian and Zamazenta to be ghost. Remember their introduction? They loom spookily out of the fog. It also fits thematically as they are ghost of a bygone mythical era that you restore to their former steel type glory

I’d actually give the rillaboom line the normal type. Since that’s sometimes used as the sound type and they’re drummers.

Monotype Pokémon: exists Emperor Cubone: Give it ground or normal typing.

I'd like to see a follow up series that sees if every Pokemon was solo type. Since several Pokemon you rank as being best as a solo type, I'd like to see your thoughts on which duel types might be better off with just one type. One example is I think Spearow and Fearow would be great as solo Flying type. So I'd like to see your thoughts on others.

If rillaboom had a dark, ground or rock type i would appreciate it more since its as of now my least favorite starter but I would with the inteleon ghost and grass type for greedent (my favorite regional rodent so far)

I kept forgetting that Grapploct is a mono Fighting type. I know just because it’s an octopus, doesn’t mean it should be a Water type but it learns just as many Water moves as it learns Fighting moves. Anyways, this is another great entry in your every Pokemon being a dual type series, Emperor Cubone!

Rillaboom shoulda been Grass/Normal type. It would fit with the normal = sound convention, fit with gorillas being close to humans and fit with being buff but not a martial artist.

I think psychic on stonjourner could be pretty cool. With the mystical/odd background of Stonehenge I think it could be pretty interesting.

I mean I know a fire ice type would be amazing (which is easy to obtain as he said) but like galarian darmanitan has nothing related to fire except some fire type moves and being related to unovian darmanitan Fighting would definitely fit better

To me, the Dubwool line could've been part steel, or at least Dubwool. After all, these pokemon can fall off cliffs and then just get back up like nothing happened. Also, it could be a pun on steel wool EDIT: Personally, I would've added Rock to Regidrago as it is literally made of crystals. Sure it overlaps with Regirock, but it is better than dark, even if that is (for some reason) what people thought it was originally

Finally we have reached the end of this series and my constant bickering about the ground type can come to an end but that being said RILLABOOM SHOULD'VE BEEN FIGHTING!

fun fact: because Sandaconda's Gigantamax form is based on a dust devil, which is basically a dust tornado, Sandaconda can learn Hurricane! I think this could raise him up to 2 stars or at least 1.5

Regidrago already looks like the Dark-type symbol, actually, and so is the letter Y (and also Yveltal, actually. Huh.) in the form of the Team Yell logo, so I think it's a good fit.

I was screaming Normal/Steel for Wooloo and Dubwool, because of steel wool- but then you said Ground and I was slightly angry. Also, if any Pokemon that ever exists is a definite shoo-in for Ghost/Rock, it'd be Galarian Corsola and Cursola. Yeah, it's a pretty bad defensive type combination, but Cursola (despite its' terrible Speed stat) is a very powerful glass cannon already. Edit: for the sake of a stronger defense, and to give them better STAB, I'd say that Ghost/Water could work for G-Corsola and Cursola as well. Plus, it'd fit pretty well for the two of them thematically- after all, a lot of fanart for G-Corsola and Cursola depict them as still being water-bound.

I'm really sad that this series has come to an end for now, but on the brightside, I'm psyched to see what comes next!

The monotype starters is honestly really boring. I'd see Grass/Rock (pun!), Fire/Electric, & Water/Ghost. The latter two to avoid retreading Blaziken/Infernape/Emboar or Greninja.

It would be interesting to add a third type to dual typed Pokémon! Corviknight would be an ideal flying/dark/steel type

I think cinderace could’ve passed for a rock type imo. It’s based on a soccer (or in other countries football) player. The first thing I thought about was what could it possibly kick other than just a pure fireball? A rock maybe?

I personally like the idea of Intelion being a Water/Ghost Pokémon.

I think the grookie line being normal rather than ground makes more sense, considering normal is the honorary sound type. (2.5/3) For the scorbunny line, I think they're good as is. (0/3) For the sobble line, I believe that only the last one should be dark and the rest should stay as is (0/3 for the first 2 and 2.5/3 for the last one) For the skwovet line, I think it makes more sense for them to be dark type because greediness is dark (.5/0 for skwovet and 2/3 for greedant [also by your logic all pokemon should be grass type]) For the rookidie line, I agree that they should stay as is (so 0/3) but, I don't think dark would work because beyond them learning a dark type move early, it doesn't make sense (turtwig learns a water move really early) I agree with blipbug but would give it 2 stars. I would say ground type makes a tiny bit of sense (but only 1/3 stars) but I would think they should be normal type. They are just puns on sly fox after all so they are just NORMAL foxes. For glossifleur line, I disagree and think it should stay as is (0/3) Nothing should ever change wooloo, but I think steel works better for dubwool, considering I believe one of its dex entries talks about its wool being as tough as steel. I agree chewtle could have been a rock type, but it's 3/3 for me. I agree with yamper and bolthund. I also agree with rolycoly. I would argue galarian farfetch'd's line should be grass type sensce they use a plant sword for attacking, which gives them STAB on leaf blade, which makes sense. (2.5/3 stars) Galarian darumaka's line shouldn't be anything else. The whole point of it's zen mode is to gain the fire type after all. (0/3 stars) The Milcery line should be normal type because they are made of milk, and milk drink is still a normal move. (1.5/3 stars) I agree, falinks should be a steel type. Pinchurchin should be a water type because it's a SEA urchin, or it should be poison because its a sea URCHIN. (2/3 stars) I agree, Stonejurner could be ground type, but I would say because its made of earth, rather than because it just has some dirt on it, but I also think it should stay as-is. (.5/3 stars) Eiscue should be as-is, since it doesn't breathe water any and barely gets any water type moves. (0/3 stars) Copperaja's line I can agree with, but its because they are based on digging tools. Zacian and zamazenta should both start as fariy/fighting but exchange one of those type for steel when they change, making it so zacian isn't just better than zamazenta. (3/3 stars) I agree with Kubfoo being normal. I agree that regidrago could have been dark type, but don't think it should have been. I actually think making regieleki a steel type makes sense considering the metal coils around it, but would anly leave it at 0.5 stars. For Glastrier, it in no way pulls off steel type. The spikes are made of ice and it's name come from glacier. It should remain as-is (0.5/3 stars) Ya I agree with Spectrier. Dynamax/Gigantamax isn't a type changing form, so they shouldn't even be included. (0/3 stars on all) Great vid!

Unpopular opinion here but I’ve always hated Rookidee getting pure-flying. I’ve always loved the concept of flying never being on its own, and the one exception being basically the ESSENCE of flying is understandable. Also, now Rookidee is just annoyingly inconsistent. Going back THIS late isn’t exactly a pro in my book. Maybe that’s just me though.

The reason Cuphant and Copperajah cannot be Ground type: The Pokedex very clearly states Raichu's electricity can make an Indian elephant faint, and Ground types are immune to Electric attacks. So the unevolved form, if not both forms, needs to not be Ground type.

Grookey line should have been grass/normal. Normal has been a stand in for a "sound" type so he'd get stab for all the sound based moves it gets.

I don't agree with the Stonjourner one. Its Shield PokéDex entrée sounds like it could have been Psychic Type. And no getting away with Ground Typing is just lazy in your part.

How I would give the second types to the non duel type galar pokemon then what cubone gave some of them? Rillaboom: Grass/Rock(A pun based on rock and roll genre of music) Cinderace: Fire/Fighting(Football/Soccer is a active type of sport and sports can be seen as similar to martial arts, along with with cubone said about the scorbunny line being active football players) Inteleon: Water/Flying(While inteleon can't traditionally fly, intleon is based on gliding lizards with it's special membrane and emolga can't really fly either but glide along wind currents too) Thievul line: Dark/Normal( While they take inspiration from the likes of Guy Fawkes, they still resemble normal red foxes and we have alot of normal type pokemon that are still close to their animal counterparts so this wouldn't be so different when compared to the stoutland line) Dubwool line: Normal/Steel( The pokedex mentions that making carpets out of these pokemon wools can be seen like making a trampoline and since trampolines use metal springs to work, then their wool must be bouncy like springs since another dex entry says that if they fall off a cliff they would come back up fine and this would also be a pun on 'STEEL' wool) Boltund line: Electric/Fighting(While the normal type makes somewhat sense since they are normal looking, I think fighting makes alot more sense since corgis were used as farm/herding dogs despite their size and legs and boltund is also based on the foxhound species of dog making them 4 times strong against theivuls line with me making them part normal type as well) Sirfetch'ds line: Fighting/Grass( While they can't fly anymore due to the giant leek they carry and would not make them flying types, they can use it like weapons and perhaps this makes them grass type also. They can learn leaf blade and this would also grant them stab damage as well) Milcery line: Fairy/Water( Unlike with what cubone said, I think water makes more sense because milcery is said to be made from milk and this seems more like a better type for a liquid then poison) Stonjournor: Rock/Psychic( It is believed that since stonjournor is based on stonehenge, that it would have many ties to the lunar/astal calandar/having a conspiracy to aliens and was used as a early compass to point people possibly druids to the right direction)

I love how far we’ve come. We care about Pokémon not having type coverage for a new type they get, when the Magnemite line couldn’t learn an offensive steel-type move until like, Gen 4

I argue Dark for Clobbopus and Grapploct purely because it evolves with Taunt and it bugs me they don't become Dark when evolving with a dark move (And I know some of the Gen 4 evos had that problem but I have problems with them too)

Can't say I agree with nickit and thievul being ground type. They have no relation to the ground. They're foxes and thieves. The tail is a bag of stolen goods. Sure it touches the floor but it's heavy. I would give ground for them 0 stars or 1 star at a push.
