This was a great story but I do think that obi-wan would have still beaten anakin as anakin was not in the proper head space to outmatch his master who knew his every move and even if obi-wan lost and died in the process I don’t think padme would have stood for such a rule and I think with the risk of losing his love anakin would have turned back to the light

Usually I like it when the universe as a whole gets a better ending in stories, but for Star Wars, I really focus on the characters we love dearly.

It is possible Obi Wan might have used the force to push his make shift raft to the center of the the river which was flowing a slight different course leading him further down steam and surrendered the duel that day but both were still alive. Leaving only echoes of apologizes for allowing the death of Anakin and hope for his eventually return and hopes for Padme to be safe since they've been together so long. Resulting in a similar story but maybe after the death of Palpatine Obi Wan would try using words to sway a much calmer and Anakin accidentally finding him at the next major crossroads for him to decide light or dark and pointing out past events into a different perspective For example how the dark side only bright Padme more at rush to die with him force choking her and no dark force technique saved her only the light of love in both their hearts saved her.

The high ground has determined the majority of battles throughout history unless the commander of the force on the low ground overwhelms the opposing force with sheer numbers or generally a better understanding of tactics and the battlefield has allowed smaller/weaker forces to win battles/wars against significantly stronger forces.

If Padme lived she would have formed the Rebellion, but would use it to find and hide Jediand pass on information that Vader and his children were planning. After Jedi were ready or thought they were there would be attacks, drawing off Luke and Leia then Padme would make a move against Darth Vader and tried to kill him, if she succeeded or failed, she would say the Rebellion was her child, her's not theirs. It would be her legacy and she was more proud of the Rebellion than him or her own flesh and blood. She would then contact Luke and Leia and told them what had happened to their father and by who. This would cause anger, sadness and distrust. It would also cause chaos as which of them would take the throne? It would create a civil war and in the end both their armies would be destroyed. Then Yoda would come forward and fight the survivor and the Sith would be destroyed and then Yoda would die and be an honoured hero of the New Republic. Any hidden Jedi would come forward and reform the Jedi Order. The New Republic wouldn't have to worry about the First Order as they were Luke or Leia's forces used against Luke's in the war.

The high ground does not really work in a one on duel. It actually puts the one on the high ground at a disadvantage since it is harder for that person to hit his enemy while he can easily aim for his enemys legs.

Fantasy folklore please do part 2

Anakin is the character, i mostly associate with, and the story told in here, however entertaining, is just not the style of Anakin. He was much consumed by the dark side, due to the loss of Padme, the love of his life. He had failed and he was alone. But he was not just evil, for the sake of evil. His destiny was, being the chosen one. It is much more plausible in my opinion, that after killing Palpatine, he would have slowly shift into a gray Jedi, thanks to the presence of Padme and his kids into his life. And he would have embraced a wider and wiser, neutral view of the force, balanced between darkness and light, having the straights of both.

This concept is a fitting epilogue for ROTS
