I have to say Thrawn's death was perfectly done. I hate when people have him reduced to pleading to be spare. Thrawn is a very honorable gentleman and he would never do such a thing. That aside, Anakin being given a chance for atonement this time around was amazing. I love how much this feels like Heir to the Empire.
well said and to say anyone could beat the strategic mastermind Thrawn is literally not possible. Anakin rarely lost a battle in the clone wars and had the same natural intuition for strategy coupled with battlefield condition experience as a front line commander even single handedly winning some battles using his troops as a defensive distraction. Even Thrawn's prowess is not enough to account for such an anomaly as Anakin Skywalker. Some fans also tend to forget Anakin's most powerful unique gift was Greater foresight an ability Palpatine clouded and took advantage of increasing his visions stimulating his fear of loss, however now that the galaxy is rid of palpatine Anakin can use this power freely, clearly and his ability of precognition in combat is extensively increased. This is an uncommon somewhat rare power some jedi have but considering his midichlorians his is far more powerful, while some only get vague messages Anakin will have vivid visions of the future.
I guess because I only know thrawn from the original books, I don't think that this was a fitting in for him. He was not out strategized or done in with tactics. It was just Anakin. For it to be a fitting death he should have legitimately lost because of a mistake be made rather than something he had no reason to have considered. After all apparently there were only four people in the entire galaxy that knew Anakin was alive.
I won’t lie, the idea of a Anakin returning to fight along side Luke and Ashoka in a Jedi Starfighter never crossed my mind. But this was beautiful - the added touch of Rex and R2 really did create a moment I didn’t think would hit me that hard but it did. It was like the completion of the redemption arc.
Yeah I like the idea of Anakin going. Who knows it might have pushed him all the way to the dark side sooner though! Like if obi wan died or something like that
This was well done and thought out. Good job. Unfortunately in our world...he most likely would have been written off in a way that did no justice for his character or his struggle for redemption at all with his entire existence being trivialized. Oh wait, they already did that.
If they were honest his story would have ended with him being put on trial for all the crimes he committed. Probably have to be executed. His redemption wouldn’t have absolved him of his crimes
That’s how it works the best creators are never known or heard cause they poor or they not known, yet a war billionaire and their clicke will always be known.
I believe that the story that we got in Star Wars, it was perfect, but I also believe that if Anakin Skywalker had survived, it would’ve continued Anakin Skywalker story in this way, as a beacon of light, and hope in order to fight and vanquish the darkness
Idealistically I would want him to be accepted by Leia and help Luke rebuild the Jedi order. Realistically though the most likely thing would be Leia never really accepting Anakin because of his part in destroying Alderaan and also being in charge of her torture on the first Death Star, imprisoning Han in carbonate… basically all the atrocities he was part of. On top of that likely the rebellion/new republic wouldn’t care about his redemption and would instead imprison him for war crimes. Edit - this just came to me as well Leia would either try to keep the fact Anakin is her father a secret because of the political implications of a rebellion hero and potential senator being the daughter of Darth Vader OR she would retire from politics all together instead of having this potential scandal rock the very shaky foundations of the New Republic.
Im crying 😭 it’s So Good!! 😊 Star Wars needs to contact you for this script to make it a movie!! I can see this as way better than what we got after the change instead of Vader dying, he was given another chance at life. I’d say from the hanger scene forward is how this saga should look.
It sounded like a wonderful, deeply moving fairy tale, which is no insult. George Lucas built the chronicles of the galaxy far, far away out of fairy tales and archetypes that have the power to move the human heart greatly.
In Legends/novels after Return of the Jedi, when the New Republic claimed Coruscant, Luke went to Palpy's palace which was the old Jedi Temple. Inside he found an opened Carbonite slab that felt his mother used to be imprisoned in it. It's likely Palpy cloned Padme or he recovered her original body&revived her using the Dark Side of the Force and then essence transfer her to a cloned body if he didn't keep her original body. This dark side essence transfer technique had been used before during KOTOR even on those who had died if their corpse was available. Considering that Padme had twins that are strong in the force, Padme should had become force sensitive when she got pregnant. That was enough as Palpy might be interested in her children's DNA. So in later novels, Luke's been tracking Padme's trail but lost her trail at the Crystal Star novel.
A really good and very detailed video, only one thing strikes me...Thrawn having a super star destroyer built with a super weapon? Palpatine, yes, but Thrawn who knew the best way to fight the rebels was with better starfighters? Sure, he's fighting the New Republic now, but I suspect their tactics, which rely more on starfighters, haven't changed much. And yes, Thrawn will use whatever means are available to him, but that one point.... I don't know! At least in Star Wars Legends, Thrawn hated superweapons, like the Death Star, and also dreadnoughts, like super star destroyers. I haven't watched Rebels or read any new books about Thrawn, so I don't know his current opinion on it, but I guess not much has changed there?
This was so incredibly well done! I watch Star Wars fan videos on RU-vid because I find them entertaining like everybody else, but this one might just be my favorite. You’re a gifted writer.
this was definitely amazing, I think all the characters were done very well and well thought out, although I think Anakin probably could have defeated the inquisitors all on his own with ease
Another very interesting and compelling enthralling gem of a new alternate history story if Vader survived the second death star. However, my one major quibble with it, is that Thrawn doesn't use superweapons as he doesn't need to as his own military genius and prowess and fleets at his command were totally sufficient to achieve his end goals, with a few technical boost and enhancements along the way.
@@thestarwarsgalaxythanks for the response my friend Also Will you do a what if star wars multiverse, type of video which it will be weird but will you do it if you want
I have to say that this brought tears to my eyes and wished the writers at Disney would come anywhere near as good as this was. This was a proper story and in my opinion, would be every bit worthy of a movie interpretation. But Disney in their infinite wisdom won’t come within a parsec of this level of writing. Pity!
Literally this is a WHAT IF no one can say "that makes no sense" because it's YOUR theory YOUR vision of what would have happened! Loved the video btw!
Sound Great, I loved the story it was so fun. I loved Anakin with his classic line this is where the fun begins. I am glad he got his redemption. Thank you, thank you
I feel like this exact thing has been done before. It seems like the Empire would've collapsed faster than it already did (a solid 8-17 years, depending on where 1 draws the line). With that, the Imperial Remnant likely wouldn't have even been worth Thrawn's time. He'd probably have just been like, "welp, guess I'll take this tech & intel back to the Ascendancy". To be fair, that probably would drastically change the trajectory of the Chiss' interactions with the New Republic. Likely wouldn't have given rise to the Fel Empire so an altogether different arc for the One Sith too.
All of the dead Jedi: “You did well Anakin, you brought balance to the force. You slaughtered many innocent people along the way, destroyed a planet, and you know… enslaved the galaxy for nearly 3 decades… but you did well.”
I never comment on videos and I have watched many similar to this. However, I had to comment on how outstanding and exciting this story is. Very well done! Thank you for sharing this!
This was really enjoyable. As you say, very fan servicey but...so what? It was cleverly done and stayed true to each of the characters. It was entertaining and felt very much in the spirit of the many novels that featured the characters in the 'post jedi' timeline. Thanks for sharing what was obviously a labor of love for you, as I found it highly entertaining and left me thinking of the many other ripples this series of events would have caused. Well done! And...may the force be with you.
Really enjoyed this story. The 1 thing I missed was a heart to heart moment between 3PO and Anakin since he did build him. I know 3PO’s memory banks got wiped at the end of revenge of the Sith but there could have been a inaccessible back up drive to all those memories only known and accessible by Anakin in case someone would ever delete the droids memory.
What if Dooku became a Jedi Lord? What if Nute Gunray became a Sith Lord? What if Padme Amidala was saved by the Separatist Council? What if Thrawn joined the CIS? What if the Separatist Council discovered the truth about Palpatine? What if Tarkin joined the Separatists?
should've added some dialog between rex and ani like "general skywalker nice to have you back" rex said ani replied with an overwhelming sense of joy he said "great to see you again rex" or something like that but either way this was masterfully well done
I am so happy I stumbled upon your channel. Thank you for coming up with these stories. The writers at Disney could learn a lot from you. Very well done.
Great story and video, this may be the best what if about Anakin coming back that I've seen. Although I would've made a little change, and said change would be Rex saying "Just like old times, right general?" on comms so that Anakin could hear him, only for him to smirk and answer with "You know me".
